Hello everyone, my Phone (Mi11 venus 256GB) sometimes out of nowhere is just Rebooting itself. I tried Facory Reset wich didnt help then Flashed new Firmware with MiFlash. Problem still occurring. It does not seem to be related to high usage of CPU/GPU because sometimes it happened when i wasnt using the Device for a while a short Time after i unlocked Screen, when Recieving a Call for example. Is there a Way to test the RAM for Errors like in Windows? Where can i find precise logfiles that maybe show the Error or help me Narrow it down? Has maybe someone faced similar issues?
Thx for any Help

This is very likely the battery board issue.

Hi, did changing the battery solve your problem? My MI11 256gb also often reboots itself. It's often rebooting on stock rom, xiaomieu and also on all custom AOSP ROMs. Thanks.

Hi @mvikrant97! Thank you for explaining this. I have exactly the same problem.
Is the BCM part of the Battery or of the phone? I want to know if replacing the battery is an option to solve it easily. Thank you!

No luck. I changed the battery and still having spontaneous reboots. Often it does not even pass the mi logo while booting. I tried to get the error using adb logcat but nothing relevant is logged when the device reboots. Seems like hardware issue.

Oh I'm really sorry about that. I thought you are atleast able to boot into the device and it shuts down in the middle of something.
You have to get the hardware of the phone inspected.

It is only the TouchFlo!!! Everything else works fine!!!
Also in the last few days I had some problems with my Diamond, it always breaks down, and it never did in the last few month!
I already did a hard reset, nothing changes...
I formated the flash to prevent viruses....
Can somebody help me? Should I buy a mobile anti-virus, is that really necessary?
WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON???

EDIT / UPDATE / SOLUTION:
I found the solution to this problem.
Like somebody told in this thread it is a software problem!
It seams to be an error in the ROM, that even a hardreset cannot restore.
So I flashed a newer ROM to my Diamond. It was the first time I did that, so I did not really know how it works. But at the end it was really easy.
IT IS JUST IMPORTANT TO READ ALL THE NOTES before you try to flash the ROM.
I upgraded my ROM from 1.93.xxx to 2.03.xxx but it is possible to reflash the same ROM to your device.
How it works?
Just go to http://www.htc.com/www/supportdownloadlist.aspx?p_id=133&act=sd&cat=all
and download the ROM you like. At the moment there are to ROMs avaiable 1.93 and 2.03
So download the one you like (size: +- 100 MB), then READ and FOLLOW all the instructions if it is your first time.
yeah thats happened to me couple of times...it usually happens to me when i leave my diamond plugged in the charger over night...occasionally, the device freezes up or reboots over night (i know this because when i wake up, i get prompted with insert sim passcode screen)

I had something kind of like that except my screen output everything as if I was looking at it through a mirror, but the touch screen locations were still the same.

I have the same problem and cannot isolate why it happens, but it is a coincident it happens when plugged in charger.
Only way I found to clear it is soft reboot

its just a software related issue, not hardware (at least i dont think). But it happens to me very rarely...hasnt caused any issues.
It started 1 week ago on my phone...
I installed an Anti-Virus to check, but found nothing.
I did hardreset, now my diamond freezes less often.
But what can it be? And I dont know how to install a new ROM version, or how to complet flash the ROM...
And when I sent my diamond back to HTC this takes over a month to get it back, because here in Luxembourg they are so F***ING slow!
So, this is an edit of the message above:
I updated my Touch Diamond now from ROM 1.93.xxx to 2.03.xxx
It was kinda easy, you just have to go to the HTC Homepage, then to Diamond Support and Downloads.
THEN IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO FOLLOW ALL THE INSTRUCTIONS IF IT IS YOUR FIRST TIME, so read!
I will tell you then in a few days if it had some affections to the problems I have with my diamond!
EDIT / UPDATE 1:
The phone seams to work a bit faster with the new ROM then with the older.
GSensor Calibration is already installed on this new ROM
New Version of Google Maps
And I think a newer version of Youtube.
Although some System Updates and Internet Sharing is now in choose-list when connecting to PC
Hi there,
I've been using CM all the time, but now I decided to switch back to stock rom.
I installed everything properly but after boot up, I got the message "use genuine battery" and the phone shuts down.
Of course I am using my original battery that was in the package.
I tried without success:
- pressing PowerOn-button for 20 seconds when battery unplugged
- cleaning battery contacts with nail polisher
By googling I found this advise that shoud fix the problem:
Many LG Models have a common error of saying Use Genuine Battery then powering off. This is a very common and fixable issue. please understand that this method will most on most LG phones but does exclude the 8100 and older models, and the exact location of the items you'll be looking for in programming will vary model to model.
If you encounter this error you can attempt to correct the phone if you have another battery for the phone that will power the handset up.
Install the battery that is working
Type in: ##LGSERVICEMENU send (##5473784296368) on the dialpad.
enter the security code: 000000
locate: SW/HW Tests or HW test or SW/HW Versions
once you locate and select the correct field you need to find "bypass booting"
in this menu you need to locate fake battery mode select it and choose on.
Your LG will now work with any battery that fits into the phone.

I tried this and borrowed a battery from a friend. With this battery everthing worked fine. But unfortunately the service-menu as described by typing ##5473784296368 didnt work on my 4xHD. Instead I tried the hidden menu 3845#*880#. But there I wasn't able to find anything like "fake battery" or so.
Does anybody know where this menu point could be?
My phone is too old so I wont get a new battery from LG Service.
thanks in advance :good:

Ok @eFCiKay maybe you should enter in recovery and wipe all partitions, this would be fix that problem.

Did you SERIOUSLY just recommend that the OP simply wipe all partitions in order to fix a battery problem? Really? I guess he'd be so pi$$ed off at no longer having a phone which would boot that he would no longer notice the battery problem?
If this is the level of your advice to help people out then I suggest you stop bashing on your keyboard and find something else to do with your time instead.
And to top it all off you beg for thanks at the bottom of your post
thanks for all answers
of course I would have been aware of, that in case I'd wipe all partitions, I need to reflash recovery and rom.
But could this really fix the problem?
I even tried another baseband (v10h and v20a)
Just re-read your first post properly.
You have been using CM with no issues, but when you went back to Stock this started happening? What Stock have you gone back to? Given that, I'd be tempted to do a full KDZ reflash and see if that makes any difference as it's possible something has gone wrong when you've reflashed.
Although, if I read right, you used a friend's battery with no problems? Just buy an OEM battery from eBay and see if that fixes it.

pfffff..... that it's a problem, you should charge your battery with a phone battery charger device and when it's fully charged or 80% put the battery on the phone plug the usb on the phone press down volume button and plug the usb to your computer (you will need to have phone driver installed)
and flash the fw with kdz.
just give one more chance to your battery!
Fix Maybe?
Hello,
Sorry to bring up an old thread, but just for information in case anyone else comes over this issue and end up on this thread.
I found with my p880 that one of the battery prongs on the phone was bent in so that it didn't attach properly to the battery connection.
I got a pin and hooked it underneath, then pull the pin slightly out which brought it back in line with the others.
I then got cleaning alcohol, I used isopropyl, to clean all the contacts.
After doing this I found the error message went away and the phone works as it should.
Hope this helps someone else with the problem.
Regards,
Monkey

Thanks man you saved me a lot of headache, I installed wifi screen off and I got like 3% drain overnight. Do you know why I have this problem? I am running mirek V 7.0 rom
I had problems from the first day with all versions of Android 5 on this tablet, downgrading to Kitkat helped but sometimes there were too some strange battery drains while the device should have been in sleep mode but wifi because of no reason didn't let it go!

Did you also have a similar problem, and did the new ROM fixed it for you?
I wonder if all tablets of this model have that problem!? My tablet is under warranty, and I can return it back and get another one, but if all models have the same issue then there is no point.
Thanks

I actually have a stock ROM but without any Chinese apps in it. I wonder if I have the original stock ROM or they have flashed some ROM at the store I bought it.
And, does Mirek's ROM Android recognize the battery capacity as 8000 mAh or it shows it as 4980 mAh?

Hey
My phone just died in my hands and now doesn't want to boot in any mode.
I searched a solution already on the internet, I tried the testpoint method, I succeed to make my computer and miflash recognizing my phone but when I'm launching the flash, it always fails (I tried a few times).
I used different versions of miflash (even the beta one) and different rom (global/china stable).
Miflash is sometimes missing hello packets, sometimes going further with "0x8000ffff: Send configure command" or even worst as in these screens..

But it is weird, it died so fast, I got the phone less than a year ago..
Oh and 1-2 weeks before it died, my phone had some big freeze screen when I was trying to access to my pictures and I had to long press power button to make it restart. My mi5 died during one of these freezes, that's why I didn't think firstly that it was an hardware bug..
So I think that I'll send it back to the seller (but I don't even know if the free warranty covers motherboard death..

It just wont register a new face no matter what I do. Almost as the module that handles it is completely hosed. Not sure if it matters, but it never does the "blue" squares on the circle when registering, it only ever says "fit face in inner frame".
Anyone have a fix for this?
Did you replace any component on the phone?

no, all oem
Does front camera work and sensors as well?
What I saw was people which got face unlock broken after changing front sensors, and as it seems, front camera is locked to the motherboard so if you change it you loose Face unlock.
However I also saw people who had a similar problem to you and after uninstall updates from some apps it started working again. I will search those threads and link them here for you

I am not aware of any settings apart from motion sense settings sorry
Try clearing the system cache.
Hard reboot. Try in safe mode.
I recommended not using any kind of lock.
The user is usually the one that ends up getting locked out. Many times due to a hardware failure... and the lock only makes the situation worse.

@kallell
Sounds like you have a dead sensor or two. You should download and run some sensor testing apps like sensor lab or sensor test . Run those and if you get corroboration across more than one app you have your answer. How is your warranty status? Did you buy the phone directly from Google? If so you may have a pretty good shot at an RMA.

Hope this helps you. I will be watching this topic, if I found anything new I will let you know
I mean if the phone didn't suffer from any drop and was never water damage, the front sensors are fine almost certainly.
If it is under warranty though I would suggest getting in touch with Google so you don't need to use your time to fix the problem, it's faster and safer.
If not I would suggest you to open the phone. It may be stupid but maybe the conector got disconnected from the motherboard and therefore doesn't work.
This happen with my rear camera. The phone was never damage and never open but somehow the conector manage to disconnect it self from the motherboard.
Here you have a link to Ifixit's guide on how to change the front sensors. I also link a photo to what happen to my rear camera conector.
