I was playing a game on my phone (roughly 15 min) when it stopped working (what I assume was a crash), there was a glitch line running down the screen and it made a annoying sound.
I held the power button to attempt to reboot it, but now nothing is happening and the LED on the top left of the phone is just showing Green. If i plug it into a charger the LED dose not change to yellow (phone was at 50% ish battery)
Anyone experienced this before and know a solution?
Or did my phone blow a chip set or something and the phone is now FUBAR?
The phone was not jail broken (never has been) and is running the latest official firmware.
Not a good sign. Confirm if the device is ín EDL mode. If so, try and flash it. If it's a hardware failure as it souns like, it's toasted..

Tonight my G1 displayed some very odd behavior. It was running normally and I pressed the power button to make it sleep and I set it aside. About half an hour later I picked it up and tried to turn it on by pressing menu. The phone gave no response other than lighting up the five buttons on the bottom. I tried sliding the keyboard out and the keyboard lit up as well, but the display remained black. Plugging it in via USB to my computer did absolutely nothing (no sounds, no notification light, etc.), and I got the same result when I plugged it into the charger. I finally decided to take the battery out in order to turn the phone off, and then put it back in and pressed the power button. The phone booted up normally, and now everything seems to be working in proper order. I am slightly concerned, however, as I have never had this behavior in the year that I have owned my G1. I am running Cyanogen 4.1.999 with the Hard SPL boot loader. I am unsure whether this behavior has anything to do with the mod and I am wondering if anyone else has experienced anything similar. I do realize that if my phone is bricked it is my fault, and I want to determine if this was simply a freak accident or if I need to do something differently with the phone.
first of all if your phone was bricked you wouldn't be able to use it. as for your problem it doesnt sound too serious so if i were you i wouldn't worry about it. but if it does happen again reflash your phone and if it happens after that, pitch it to cyanogen to see if there is a problem with the rom.
I do realize that it isn't bricked now, but I am worried that this behavior could mean that I am pushing the phone too hard. I am mostly curious as to whether or not anyone else has experienced similar behavior from their G1.
Turn off compatibility mode in spare parts.
don't worry this is a common problen It happens to me all the time any hero I flash plays nice for about a day. and then boom no problems with cyan!
I had the same problem, but unfortunately my G1 is still not working properly.
In the morning, turning off the alarm I left the phone for 5 minutes. An attempt to turn it on did not work: there was no reaction on display, although the buttons were lighting up. I restarted phone taking the battery out and now I have following:
- keyboard fully closed: no reaction/black display, buttons are lighted up
- keyboard open: I can do everything: change ROM/make call/write messages/Internet/GPS/... - everything what is possible to do with rooted G1
- keyboard partially open (visible only lowest row with such buttons as ALT, SHIFT, SPACE): similar to 'open' but with changed orientation
Can anyone help/advise? Did almost everything: ROM changed, full wipe, recovery
Hey all,
I just installed a new digitzer on my Vivid. Everything went fine, and nothing broke as I was taking apart the phone, or putting it back together.
Now that the phone is back together, however, it is having some problems.
First off, When I try to power the phone on, it vibrates like usual, but then doesn't display anything. The phone then proceeds to enter in to a bootloop and keeps vibrating every couple moments. When plugged in to the computer, the orange light comes on for a few seconds, then turns off. Windows will not recognize the phone. All the while, the screen is completely black, and none of the lights come on for the buttons either.
The phone was working fine before replacing broken digitizer.
The phone is NOT rooted, nor has it ever been. I am running stock ICS.
have tried entering Hboot with no avail.
Any advice?
Thank you!
Can you get into any other modes? Try to get to hboot(hold down power button and volume down) while plugged into computer. Should take it to fastboot.
how long for? I tried holding down for a good 30 seconds...nothing happened other than my orange light turning off
I noticed with mine I had to go with:
Remove battery.
Replace battery
hold vol down + power
few seconds later release power
few seconds later in hboot
YMMV due to repair.
You can also try a knoppix boot disc and some tutorial to see if you can find any sign of life off the phone in dmesg.
hope this helps some.
Sounds like a loose connection. Make sure that you've correctly reconnected all internal connections. Especially the connection under the little door with the void sticker on the screw in the battery compartment. If after verifying all connections are made and proper, the problem persists, I'm sorry to say you may have physically damaged the connectors during disassembly. Please visually inspect all connections for damage. A powerful magnifying glass is recommended.
(I have successfully replaced my digitizer twice, and my LCD panel once on this phone...)
Sent from my HTC Dark Raider using XDA.
I have taken it apart twice, checked all connections, and everything is good. Phone cannot enter any boot mode, and computer still doesn't recognize it. The orange light still only stays on for a few seconds when plugged in, then turns off. The phone then proceeds to keep trying to restart itself, but the screen remains pitch black blank
idk.. get a replacement.?
Hi! Sorry for my bad English.
My phone "died" while charging, but the notification LED is still blinking as the phone was just in a normal "stand by" status. Tried to call it from another phone, and it was offline.
This is the second time I get the black screen. It happened the first time 2/3 days ago, that time the phone was just sitting somewhere, then black screen, but the notification LED was blinking, so I tried to call it and it got stuck on the call ringing for like 10 minutes, then I found the reset thing on their site and it worked. This time it doesn't work. Also tried to connect it to a PC while holding the volume down button down, still didn't happen anything. Without holding the button down, nothing happens as well. PC Companion doesn't see it, Windows doesn't see any new device connected. The LED is still blinking. Didn't find anyone with the same problem, and those whith something similar to this, got it fixed with the reset buttons (like I did the first time) or had to send it in for repair... is there anything I can try before having to send it for assistance?
Both times, the LED is blinking blue, like a normal notification blinking, it was probably blinking this way because of an actual notification. It was at around 10/15% battery when i plugged it to the charger, and it was turned on. I didn't do anything to the phone since I bought it, I actually use it as it was a camera that can make phone calls and send messages, never connected to a PC.
I'd rather open it up and disconnect the battery (if that could help) than send it for assistance and maybe get it screwed even more or replaced with something worse...
Thank you!
Keep your xperia T on charger for 24 hours download the latest firmware for your phone and install it with the flashtool.
Had the same problem

Thank you, rayenvs, but "nice" ways didn't work.
So I removed the cover and disconnected the battery, now it works again.
Hello !
My problem is a bit long to explain, but I'll try to make it short ^^
So, at the beginning, I think the problem is about water resistance, because I put it in water with all the covers closed but when I took it back, the jack's "white thing" turned red and so did the others as well (even if I don't know how it happened).
From that moment, I began to try a lot of things, like charging it, connecting it to the computer, put it in rice during one night, etc... In order to dry it and to see how it's reacting, and here is the differents "states" I noticed:
-when it was charging with the wall charger, the red LED was blinking regularly
-when I connected it to my computer, the red LED turned on, my computer made the connected sound, the LED turned off 2 seconds after, and 10seconds after it went on again with the disconnected sound and the connected sound again and repeating (disconnected - LED on - connected - 2sec - LED off - 10sec)
-it wasn't doing that usually but it did it one time; red LED blinking without any connection to anything ( blinking 2 times every 2 seconds)
-and nothing was happening with the dock
At the moment I'm writing, it's acting a bit different:
-nothing's happening whithout connection
-when charging to the wall charger or the dock, it vibrates 1 time, red LED turning on, waiting 4 seconds, vibrating 3 times pretty fast, then the LED is turning off and it repeats a dozen of seconds right after that. (a bit like that - --- - --- - --- - --- - ---)
-when it's connected to the computer, it's now doing the connected and disconnected sound without stopping just like somebody is playing with the USB
I tried to press any button at any state, but I did'nt noticed anything changing.
I think that's all.
So if you have any idea about what's happening to my phone, please tell me
Thank you !
...
It's water damaged and needs sending for repair. Red LED indicates a hardware error.
There is nothing you can do yourself to repair it.

So, yesterday, I brought it to a repairer but instantly when he saw that the "little squares" were red, he told me that there's nothing to do, end of discussion.
I came back home a bit sad because I knew I had to buy a new phone but then, this morning, I was in a mood like "I don't give a f***" so I put it in charge and I tried hard with the Power Button, and the Vol+/- when suddendly, I saw the screen blinking during one short moment. Then, I tried again and I finally saw the "Charging screen" but the screen was going on and off. I waited a bit and it turned on by itself, and it went until the PIN-code phase but there again, the screen was turning on and off repeatedly, and, trying hard again with the buttons, I managed to go until the homescreen, but seeing the screen turning on and off again with sometimes the menu to power off the phone/restart/etc... I realised that the real problem was about the buttons ! So I turned it off ( trying to press the button rapidly before the screen do it again) and now I finally understood evrything ! When it was doing the strange patterns with the LED and the vibrations, it was because there is some problem in the contact with the buttons (it was turning on and resetting by itself because of this).
Now that we finally know what the problem is, have you got an idea about how to solve it ? Do you think there is still some water around the buttons and that I should try to dry it again (and how in that case ? Rice ? Hair-dryer ?) ? Or will the buttons stay like that even without water remaining ? In that case, do you have any solution ?
Thanks again !
You can buy all the replacement buttons on ebay if you are confident enough, it seems that you're warranty has been voided by the water so that's out of the question. I would suggest buying a new battery at the same time.
replace the battery ..

yeah i think my problem is buttons too.. after i wash it, with flaps closed tightly, my volume indicator increases automatically and constantly.. and after a while it will take a rest and annoy me again.. my power button doesnt respond too.. until it opened in safe mode.. to cut it short, my phone wont boot and whenever i charge it it vibrates with a pattern 1 short and long stop and 3 short and so on
i think the buttons is pressing power button and volume up by itself when it is charged.. pls help
Hey Everyone, so i got a note 5 from someone to fix or to trash so i decided to try and fix it.
The person i got it from stated she was charging the phone one night (blue charging light on) and took it off the charger but the screen would not turn on.
She hard reset the phone by pressing the power button and tried to turn it back on, after that no screen but only a blue light at the top of the phone stayed on.
She again turned it off and took it in for repairs. They could not find out what was wrong with the phone, didnt seem dead, battery was fine no damage at all to this device (zero not even a scratch on the screen)
So now, i got the device and when plugged into the computer, i dont get any sort of lights on the phone, nothing on the screen, the phone will briefly show in the device manager then it will be gone, i can hold down the power button and it shows Exynos7420 in the device manager, i let go of the power and it goes away.
Phone is 100% dead.
IS the device hard bricked?
Hard ware issue?
Just looking for ideas to bring a basically perfect condition phone back to life for some use.
Thanks guys
