Hi,
I accidentally removed through web browser my Xiaomi Account without logging out from my phone.
Now when I go to Settings > Mi Account the phone asks for the password of the account that I deleted (see attached image)
If I try to login with my old Mi account information on my phone, I get a message saying that the account no longer exists and I have to create a new one. I created a brand new account but I cannot bind it to the phone.
I contacted Xiaomi service by email but I got no solution from it.
Could a phone factory reset wipe the old Mi account information and let me configure the phone again from scratch?
Please can you help me to solve this issue?
Thanks in advance
Best regards
Luigi

Sometimes you have to wait for the Xiaomi servers to be up to date.
Have you tried: forgot password?
Unfortunately old account deletion has already taken effect, I cannot do anything to recover or change old account information.

Try to reset the phone.
I've already tried to login on https://us.i.mi.com/ with my old account credential but I got the message "This account has been deleted. Create a new one". I created a new account with the same phone number but actually the phone is bounded to the deleted account and it seems there is no way on the phone to bind it to the new one.
I'm really frustrated about this awful account management by Xiaomi.

On this site you must connect with the new one since you have deleted the old one.
can you login with the new one?
If ok wait to reset the phone, otherwise you will find yourself in the same situation.
I followed your suggestions and I successfully set up the new account on the phone.
Really thank you very much for your help.
Luigi
How did you get it to work?
I'm in the same bind and apparently there's a few days left before the account is removed from their server yet they won't reinstate it. I may be running against the clock here.
I did create a new account but there is no way to add the phone to it and they warned against resetting the phone as it would lock it permanently!
I was doing more research and I remembered that I did delete my phone from the MI account through the website before I deleted the account itself. I don't know if that makes a difference.

Connect to the phone with your new account which must correspond with the phone number provided.https://us.i.mi.com/
If your new account is recent wait.
On condition that there are no others.
Thanks NOSS8, Just to be clear the phone still shows the old account connected to it and every time I try to enter the password it gives a "Server Error". So the question is do I need to reset the phone to get the old account off?

logout and try with the new account
Once more thank you for your help. BTW, I love your avatar it expresses exactly how I feel dealing with Xiaomi :-D
One thing I just realized that may be totally different from the experience of others, there's a notification that the account session has expired and I need to enter the password again. Unfortunately it's trying to access the old account that has been deleted. Since I can't log back in I can't logout either, to remove the old account.
At this point it seems I can keep using it this way and hope it doesn't suddenly decide the phone is stolen and lock me out or I can just reset and whatever happens... Worst case I'll switch to an iPhone
Shame though, it's a really nice phone and I like MIUI.

This might have been asked before, if so please pardon me. Long story short, The email that I created my Microsoft\live account has changed, the question is; how do I get my new account on my Windows Phone without having to do a hard reset and without loosing my apps, settings and so forth? Is this even possible or am I out of luck? Please advise. Thank you.

i had same problem however i was lucky only having the new wp8.1 phone for 2 days. so didnt have much on it so far... i had to hard reset.
next time you hard reset dont login with "Microsoft Account" login under "Other..." or "Advanced" with your hotmail email... becausae that "Microsoft account" is useless ****. it drains battery by constantly checking for new email. cause you only have one option which is " daily" at longest to check emails again. where on normal hotmail or google account you have " manual" check for emails.... and if you sign in using "Other..." or "Advanced..." with your hotmail account it will be same thing and you will be able to set "manual" "daily" "weekly" "1hour" so on... good luck bro ! back your stuff up to onedrive or something
That's what i was afraid of, I guess I will also have to sign up for a developers preview again with the new account and I will loose whatever games and or apps that I bought Why??????
There is only one way can change the default email id for the device without hard reset, through REGISTRY EDITOR.
Which is your device ?
I disabled the Samsung Account app yesterday and then realized today that the Theme Store wasn't updating, nor could I download new themes. So I re-enabled it but I still am unable to download themes or even add a Samsung account from the Accounts page in Settings. I also found this thread documenting the same problem.
Any solutions, other than a Factory Reset?
Googling your problem leads me to believe that a factory reset might be the only solution. AoN

I have exactly the same problem. Now there is Dark Theme in Theme Store and I can't download it! :crying:
I've enabled all disabled app, but still can't add or activate Samsung account. Do you think they make it to be so for a reason?
Please someone help! Factory reset is the last option here.

There's no easy solution that I've found. The simplest is to just do a Factory Reset, which really wasn't nearly as painful with Lollipop as I expected. I just backed up my Pictures, DCIM, and Downloads folder to my computer, backed up my texts with SMS Backup & Restore, and factory reset, using the new app device restore function when you set it up again.
Guys, i have the same issue. Did several full wipes/factory reset but still i'm unable to login with samsung account, it does nothing when i try to add the account.
- after i do a full factory reset i don't even get the Samsung account popup at first boot. After i put in the google account and try adding the samsung account manually it just does nothing and goes back to the previous screen. Everything related to samsung account is not functional.
I've had the phone for just a few days, bought as new, and i can't use this! I think i'll send it back for warranty, as it's really annoying!
Tried deleting my old samsung account/recreating it, but same issue.

Had the same problem, more specifically: reactivation lock was on (but greyed out), Samsung account was missing in the active accounts list, but trying to add it did nothing, just returned to the active accounts list screen. Also unable to sign-in to Gear apps, etc.
I solved it this way, no factory resed needed (Note 4, latest stock FW):
Went to backup & reset
Choose "factory data reset"
Tapped "reset device"
Entered backup password (don't know if it makes any difference, but I used the password from my Samsung account)
Then it asked me to login to Samsung account, which I did.
Cancelled the "reset wizard"
voila!
I didn't perform factory reset, but the Samsung account is now back in active acounts list and i'm able to use GearApps and other stuff that depends on it.
Also able to control reactivation lock.
Good luck!
The factory reset menu does indeed allow you to add your Samsung Account back in! Good catch...
MarsRover that finally worked for me too. Thanks!
Btw, the problem started after I changed the email address for my Samsung account on their website. Within moments I received a ghost notice on my phone saying 'this account is no longer valid, please log in somethingsomething..'

So i was using Pure Nexus rom 7.0 for my nexus 6. And i was using 2 step verification with sms option.
But because i was logging in a lot out of my PC and didn't receive the sms codes sometimes, i decided to try Google Authenticator app. Biggest nightmare of my life.
I disabled the sms option to try make the app the default way for using 2 step verification.
Then a Pure Nexus Nougat 7.1.1 rom came out and i wiped everything, without making a nandroid backup (yes i know, so stupid of me).
When i wanted to logged in to my account it asked for a code from Google Authenticator app which is not installed in my phone so i had no way to log in.
I had to ask from help from Google which is apparently has the worst costumer services i have ever seen. I filled the account recovery form which asks me when i created my google account(like i would ever remember) and then i ask me to provide all the details i can.
This week my 5th request to recovery for the account was rejected. Sadly, i get an auto email from google telling me that they couldn't verify i'm the rightful owner. They asked me for more details, but wont tell what details that could be. i have no idea what can i do to prove then im the owner.
What a disappointment from google that i cant even attach photos to the request and that all they do is to tell me to provide more details with an auto message, with no guidance.
Oh, and btw i posted in the google nexus forum and was told the exact same thing as the auto -reply email.
Anyone here had he's account recovered and can tell what detail to provide?

Yep. I used it more times than I want to count, in trying to resolve OK Google issues on Pure Nexus.
You can still choose to obtain SMS with verification code which will be automagically pasted in appropriate field.
Just look around your UI before lashing out.
i have one Nexus 6 with NBD91P build which is locked with google account (FRP),
i tried almost everything in order to bypass it, but nothing worked for me till now,

Yeah. Get ahold of the account owner. There are some tut around on how to get past it, You will need an otg flash drive to do it. I know it works as I had to do it to a few devices this weekend and it worked on all of them without fail. Completely bypassed all security.

There should be a link that says something like "Having trouble?" below the field where you would enter the authenticator code. Tap that and you will get a list of options, one of which is to verify via text message.
Getting such a text does not change defaults.

Just to cover one more possibility that you haven't mentioned, did you not print the 10 authentication codes that you can use for exactly your situation?
Failing that, maybe zelendel can give you some advice on the procedure he mentioned above?
Edit: on rereading the thread, maybe I'm getting confused because mirosaw2 has posted a question which seems to be related to his device, not his account, and therefore (if I'm correct) should not have been posted in this thread because it's a different question and zelendel's answer doesn't apply to the OP's problem.
Here is the link to the tut that I used. It worked across a few devices.

There are two different discussions going on. However, you are correct in that he should have the emergency codes. If he doesn't, he should be able to get them easily enough.

well it looks like you'll just have to contact google and let them help you.
@Strephon Alkhalikoi
"he should be able to get them easily enough"
But if he hasn't got access to his account, and Google are playing hardball, how can he get the codes now?
By signing in on his PC. Unless he didn't click the box near where it says "Don't ask again on this computer" on the Google sign-in screen, he won't need an authentication code to access his account. Other devices and services requiring access to Google still need to go through the authenticator.
Maybe I'm misunderstanding the problem. I understand that the OP doesn't have access to his Google account at all, therefore he can't validate his phone, but also can't sign into Google on his PC. Maybe he can clarify that for me?

He set up the Google Authenticator on his N6 because of his frequently accessing his Google account on the PC. Apparently he disabled SMS retrieval in his account, and then wiped his device. Now when he tries to activate the account on the N6 he can't because the account requires an authentication token. Google cannot verify that he is who he says he is and thus will not give him a code.
Unless he set up his PC to automatically authenticate his account upon login, he won't be able to authenticate his account. That means he's locked out of everything and will have to make a new account. He'll also have to find a way to bypass FRP on the N6, as he'll get locked out trying to activate.
Hi xda!
I need your help to gain access to my new T819 tablet.
I created a Google Account not knowing that this account is crucial when resetting the device (which was necessary after inserting the t-mobile SIM card for the first time).
Now I cannot remember the Google Account username and password.
Is there a way to regain access without breaking the Samsung warranty?
Thank you!
schischo
Your Google account username and password is the same as your gmail email address.
If you set up a backup email or phone number which it usually asks for at sign up then you can retrieve your details.
https://accounts.google.com/signin/usernamerecovery?hl=en
Chrome also remembers your sign in if you've ever used it.

There is no backup email or phone number. I just used bogus information because I did not realize it as important for access after resets.
I realize this isnt place for topics such as this but I have to try because googling does not help.
So what happened is that i forgot password for my main gmail acc, and i went to forgot my password thinking it would only send verification code to my phone and thats it, but then it asked for the last password i remember then enter another email address and they sent another code to that email and at last it said we will send you an email to the other email address you wrote in, and they did but they said there is not enough information to recover my main gmail acc. If there is any solution to bypass this and somehow recover my main gmail, please help me, everything (photos, emails, play services....) is on that acc. Thank you in advance
I had such problem before, I was told to wait 3 days, I sent them an email with the case id that they provided me, and mentioned all subscriptions done in that account, shared libraries and with which account these libraries were shared. I sent them last the 4 digits of the credit card which was connected to the account. Eventually they sent me a link to sign in my account and change the password.

Thank you very much, I will wait for this next email from google, because i filled out another recovery form, and if the answer is negative again, I will try adding as much information that they will find useful, I hope it pays out in the end.
