Hi everybody,
On my OnePlus 8 Pro 256 GB 100% original, I just did the latest official OxygenOS 12.1 update, download OK, then reboot and when restarting the phone remains on the OnePlus logo with the vibrator vibrating intermittently...
I stopped it then restarted, several reboots, always the same...nothing to do..
I am disgusted
Ideas ? help please..
If I long press the start button, this is what I get :
{

Help please ...
Use MSM tool, go back to Android 11 and try again, use oxygen updater app to download the full image and local upgrade. Everything you need is in XDA itself, just a search away.
Can I keep my data with MSM tool?

I guess no. But I'm not 100% sure. Just 95%

Can you boot into safe mode? Try pressing reboot long and press safe mode.
I am kind of in the same situation, but now already in a state in which I cannot even get this screen anymore.
Can you still access via adb?
I'm not good at all with customising phones, but I have access to recovery and fastboot mode...
Please try booting in safe mode first. You can do that from the screen in your topic start as explained. Let me know what happens
Please could you give me the link for the start-up procedure in safe mode ?
Now I have a bug, when I push volume + and - and start button when booting, I go on Fastboot mode , this mode is unusable because the colored part at the top of the screen scrolls automatically (Start>>Power off>>Show Barcode>>recovery Mode>>restart bootloader>>start...) without being able to select any mode.

I just did: Try pressing reboot long and press safe mode.
Sorry if you are this ignorant than I cannot help you. This is the last chance
impossible to go to Android then impossible to long press reboot...
You cannot get into the state of your picture in the first post? Press "Redemarrer" long
Sorry I wasn't understanding, effectivly I could reboot in safe mode by long press but sadly when restarting the phone remains on the OnePlus logo with the vibrator vibrating intermittently and don't goes to android home screen...
Do you know another way to keep my data ?
I just did a "adb pull /dev/block/sda23" to save the data partition.. But I don't know if I will ever be able to read it, since it is encrypted
it's impossible to downgrade update ?

Hi guys,
I 've seccesfully used JM7+Voodoo lagfix and I decided to flash the jm7 again because of the bug in Voodoo beta 3 which keeps the processor 100% all time long.
According to the instructions on voodoo lagfix website, you have to convert the filesystem from ext4 to RFS again, I did it succesfully.
Then I used odin, put the phone in download mode, usb cable and START on odin.
Problem is that odin was:
when I pushed start I got an error , and it didn't start, removed cable.Start again in download mode, start odin, then start again...
It did start but it was stuck on "do not turn off target!!!" for few minutes. So I had to stop it ( odin was running locally but my csc modem and code files were on a samba share, never took so long before )
Now when I turn on the phone I get an image like:
a pc and a mobile phone with an orange triangle with an exclamation point into it
and it won't start.
I have just the samsung usb drivers installed, and before doing this I did remove kies to save some space on C:
This is the first time it is behaving like this.
Did I brick the phone?
Thanks in advance any help is really appreciated.
P.s. at the moment I am installing kies again, download updates, and I ll try odin again.
you mean like this http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/index.php?title=Samsung_Galaxy_S/GT-I9000

and now this?
all you need to do is go back to the download mode, which is this
then you can flash with Odin again
make sure all files are local
I mean the second image you posted mate.
Now it looks better guys!
I have reinstalled kies and used odin succesfully again.
Thanks again.

How were you able to get back to download mode? I did the same as you (unplugged when a flashing froze up) and can't get back to download mode..
Just that terrible 'orange triangle with exclamation mark' connect to PC symbol (does anyone know the technical name for this screen?)

Hi,
I recently rooted my galaxy s and installed tegrak kernel. Now it's in a boot loop. It won't start, even not in recovery mode. It go's to tegrak beginning screen and than to galaxy s screen. After that it starts up again. I think I installed the kernel wrong.
How can i delete the kernel without getting to the recovery mode, and without being able to connect to my pc because it doesn't start.
I can get to:

but if I choose anything from the tegrak kernel (like recover etc) but it says it doensn't find the needed files.
What to do?

Can you get in to download mode? vol down home and power?
If you can you could try flashing a different kernal through Odin. If not it might be worth trying a JIG
hey,
I can get in tegrak recovery, but all the recovery files aren't on the phone, neither on the sd card. Are there files i can download, put on my sd card and make Tegrak recovery use that?

Are you holding Volume UP or volume DOWN?
It now says downloading... (how do i know it's able to download, and it has connection etc)?
Honestly, if you don't know the difference between Recovery Mode and Download mode, step 1 would be to read a lot
Step 2 would be to read again to be sure you understand
Step 3: disable all lag fixes and thing you've done without knowing what you where doing and
step 4, search and read about darky's recovery rom, odin, dowload mode, kernel and the such
step 5, re-read what you think could fix it and confirm you understand
It still says: "Downloading... Do not torn off target!!!"..
Is that normal?
It will do so until you send something using odin.
Open the back cover and remove the battery and put it back so that it reboot
yes. it is.
search for odin and flash another rom. read a lot before you do that.
My phone recently got bricked to the point where i could not restore it myself, therefor i sent it to the place i bought it and they managed to repair that but unfortunately a new problem appeared then, now the home button does not work at all and the lock/power button only works half, its the same either im in recovery mode or if im fully booted up. I can turn on the phone after alot of tries but it doesnt seem like it works at all when it booted, i cant do the 3 button combo because the home button doesn't work but i can get in their by rebooting in to recovery mode. I can't flash anything in cwm since i cant select anything with the home button not working, can i restore a backup with a different method?. To me it seems like an hardware issue but i have no idea. I havn't been able to find a solution my self and i would like to avoid sending it in again.
Save your apps.
Reboot in recovery with a software and use Odin to reflash.
Reply me for more info
I guess you mean download mode? not recovery?
I can't seem to get it into that, i tried with adb with the command "adb reboot download" but that just reboots it normally
If the buttons aren't working properly in recovery mode how can software fix this then ? I think the only option is a replacement

Thats what i think aswell, but it seems strange that it would happend. The guy who fixed the phone said he had no problems with it, i doubt he would lie. And i dont think it would happend under transportation, it was solid packed.
if the home button doesnt work it's maybe base firmware (bootloader) who is damaged.
Let me explain
Here we have the boot process of android phones.

the base firmware that i talked (the bootloader) detect the hardware but if it doesnt do it it's because it's damaged.
It's my theory but it can be false.
I advise you to save your apps with TB and reflash with Odin with PIT 512
Please reply me
Thanks for the reply, good post.
But i can't seem to get into download mode, not even with adb, it just reboots normally.
I have ordered a USB jig but it will take a while before it gets here, i'm looking into making one my self i just have to get a resistor.
It appears it is a hardware problem, if you press real hard on the home button it will register it, i managed to flash another ROM but it did nothing. I guess i have to replace the button my self or get it repaired by the place i got it or a shop that specializes in Android phones.
After flashing MIUI Jelly Beans I wanted to go back to stock 2.3 ROM to check on something and did a restore with CWM which didn't work because (as I've learned later) it uses different file system, anyway I've flashed s1_odin_20100512.pit file alone with Odin, and the result is that I can only turn the phone on in download mode.. What can I do now?
Thanks to everybody in advance..
I've tried to flash stock ROM using the method mentioned in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1494493
and after finishing, Odin gave me "Fail".. What does it mean and what should I do now?

you have KIES running in the background shut it down, get solutions from My Android Solutions for Odin stuck
But First powerdown, pull out Battery, SIM CARD, and EXT SD card, press power
button for a minute , than powerup without SIM and Ext.SD Card...make sure you
have more than 50% battery charge before you attempt any sort of flashing
Thanks a lot, and yes Samsung Kies was running in the background while I was trying to flash, I'll make sure it is shutdown this time, anyway the battery is almost at zero now and the phone isn't charging, so I'l have to wait for a friend who has SGS until tomorrow so I can charge the battery and try to flash the phone again.
On the other hand, I remembered something that might be important, which is that my phone have problems with internal memory (when you have error messages like "E:format_volume: rfs format failed on /dev/block/mmcblk0p2"), not sure if it had something to do with failing to flash stock ROM besides having Samsung Kies running in background (because I got stuck on "Set Partition" in Odin only one time), so there might be something else ausing these problems..anyway I'll try to flash it again tomorrow and see what happens.
Thanks again.

You mean during flashing the ROM right? or should I flash bootloader separately?
(I didn't touch my phone yet, still waiting for my friend for recharging)

yup, just tick it, can be done separately too
Thanx a lot, the phone is working again, it turned out that you must use Windows account that have administrator privileges in order for the flashing process to work (not sure though cuase I've tried admin account after restart, so may be restarting PC was the answer)
HELP!
S20 FE 5G SM-G781B.
I am at my wits end here. I have tried and tried, but, nothing... tried flashing TWRP with Odin multiple times (and versions), get a A-OK, installed fine, then try to boot into recovery... and it's just standard recovery.
You must disable auto reboot in Options tab in odin.
I've done that. No Bueno. I've been (trying to) follow this guide, but when it comes to the "press Vol Up+Vol Down+Power Button to enter Recovery" it just... doesn't work.
EDIT: Well, with USB connected Vol Up+Vol Down+Power Button just dumps me in Download Mode...
Try volume up+power only.
That just boots me into the standard recovery.
Thanks for taking time to help me, btw
Try another version of odin then
I SWORE I had tried different versions of Odin.. I have 3 versions downloaded (3.10, 3.12, 3.14). Odin3 v3.12 did the trick... somehow... so far, so good. But of course, when one problem seemingly gets solved, another one arises...
I can't find the zips (multidisabler-samsung-2.6a, Magisk-v21.4) in TWRP. I'm about to chuck this stupid phone out the window.
EDIT: I hate this stupid phone. One step forward, two steps back...
does usb connect to computer?
Yes. But when I connect in TWRP I just get this:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
And I can't copy any files to the Internal Storage.
Connecting 'normally' I can access my SD card and Internal Storage as normal.
It seems like the TWRP fried something on your phone......Does 'adb push files' work(I can elaborate on this if needed)
Figures Hope it's nothing irreversible.
The TWRP I'm flashing is twrp-3.5.0_10-2_afaneh92-Q-r8q. You know if this is the right one?
What android version are you on?
11
Then you have used wrong TWRP, as expected. This is the right one:

Friendly Remind you that you need to reboot directly into download mode and flash this recovery(i.e.AVOID booting into stock rom)(Surely, disable auto reboot)
Q means built for Android 10 and R means built for Android 11.You used 10 TWRP on 11 ROM so it is buggy.
Good to know about the Q/R difference, thx.
But flashing the R version yields the same results

Nooooo! That may really be a irreversible damage. Try factory reset in TWRP or/and reboot into stock rom, which may help.

Maybe more than figures. The whole data partition can be corrupt. Factory reset (format data) in TWRP for android 11. Hate to say but you have to say farwell to all your files, to say the least.
Meh, I don't have any data worth saving, so that's no biggie... I just want to root this damn phone...
