Hello folks, i recently switched to spes from surya (poco x3 nfc) and many things lik recovery, rooting and flashing roms is very different in this device. At the moment i'm having trouble rooting my stock MIUI. After i boot and flash my custom recovery my device boots to bootloader, the same happens when i boot recovery and flash magisk. i'm unsure as to what i'm doing wrong and could really use some help. Thank you!
also i'm not facing this issue when i'm using custom roms like corvus!

Probably, the first time, you need to format data because of encryption.

you can download and install the TWRP Recovery on Xiaomi Redmi 8. This is an official TWRP.

thanks i'm currently waiting for the bootloader unlock count down
can you give me some instructions to flash TWRP on the phone cause i'm kinda new to this stuff
Use latest magsik manger apk extract your boot.img from your stock firmware then patch boot.img using magsik manger then flash the patched boot.img and first of all unlock your bootloader I recommend you use mi unlock sent request for unlocking your bootloader
Unable to install official TWRP in Redmi 8, Miui 11.0.7. It installed. and then vanished when rebooted. and then boot looped. Had to flash original recovery and boot img to reboot.
Had made sure that I didn't boot to system after flashing TWRP. and boot to recovery instead. It flashed okay. Could use the root after installing Magisk. But on reboot, all was gone. Boot looped.
hi bro how did you unlock bootloader on redmi 8 its on 11.0.6.0
Hey people, I have the same problem installing TWRP. When I reboot after installing twrp.img, the recovery mode show me the recovery from the original ROM stock. I made this process hundred of times and gets the same result, original Redmi recovery erase TWRP recovery.
If someone know any solution I would really appreciate it.

It's listed all over here just do some searching . Different models have different methods.
The issue I have is that I am unable to install any custom rom in the phone, I am only able to correctly install xiaomi.eu roms and also miui global roms using fastboot method. Any custom rom I try, like Pixel Experience, but also many others, the phone will boot loop. Tried android 10 and android 9 roms, also tried to flash roms coming from an older global miui rom, just like one tutorial recomended to do, but still nothing. In TWRP there are no errors, rom seems to install correctly, but when I reboot the phone it will boot loop.
Another weird issue is that only some versions of TWRP will install on my phone, right now I am using Orangefox 10.0.3, version 10.0.4 just won't install, I flash it but nothing happens. TWRP versions from mauronofrio won't install for some unknown reason.
I'm at a loss really as to what is happening.

1. Try the latest OrangeFox beta - https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-8/development/official-orangefox-recovery-project-t4039531
2. If you have any issues with it, then report (with logs) in the OrangeFox thread.
I bought a used MI 11 Ultra running Xiaomi EU MIUI 13 Stable. The phone had the stock Xiaomi recovery on it, and I tried to flash TWRP onto it.
After having flashed multiple phones with TWRP and custom ROMs before I have run out of patience with this one. TWRP refuses to work. I can flash it and boot onto it the first time, then boot into MIUI. However, any time after that TWRP is useless and unresponsive. Now I have no usable recovery. I am not flashing anything from it, I'm just trying to make it work.
I am aware of the fact that MIUI 13/ Android 12 does not support flashing by TWRP YET, but this is something I wanted to take care of now before I setup the phone for the first time so that when TWRP adds support for Android 12 then I would have it already installed.
At this point I just want to flash the official/stock recovery on the phone, but I can't find a single thread on that.
I'm also worried about the fact that the phone may ask for the password for the MI account that was used to unlock the bootloader.
What should I do?
Any help would be appreciated.
I may be wrong - but the first thing I'd try is to find a stock package, explore it's assets, find the recovery image and flash it with fastboot.
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
It may or may not work, but I'd try it, before I try going "full-stock" by flashing a complete image.
Hi
A few months ago I was able to flash on angelica lineage-17.1-20210326-UNOFFICIAL-angelica.zip and this worked well. Yesterday I tried to flash the s same image again and after several attempts I get a black backlit screen when lineage is meant to start. I reflash stock _V12.0.10.0.QCRMIXM then a recovery - PBRP 3.0.1. From there I was having issue
What is the flashing process for an unlocked device that has something like TWRP/Pitch Back/Orange Fox installed?
I guess once you unlock and can flash the recover you use the recover to flash the zip, then reboot and flash magisk.zip and everything should work? Or is there some step missing.
I had this problem too with the google pixel 7 pro. Can't help ya there on that one. I even tried re installing older firmware and it still didn't work. Maybe the bootloader is permanetly downgradable but the firmware of the stock is. Just a guess. Lineage os 20 is an unofficial build at the moment that receives hardly any updates.
Hi guys,
I recently purchased a Pixel 4xl and absolutely love it so far. I managed to install lineageos, magisk, and LSPosed. It took me a little while to get things working as I am new to root etc. I am basically learning as I go.
I am getting bored with lineageos. I would like to try some other ROMs out. Is there an easier way to flash custom ROMs instead of using a PC? I my video card in my PC bit the dust so I am waiting for a replacement.
Thanks,
Rocky
Flash TWRP. Download ROM.zip on the phone and put it in a known place.
TWRP always allows flash custom ROM, while recovery from lineage - not always.

I was under the impression that you could only temporarily boot into twrp on the Pixel 4/xl?
