Stock YouTube app is updated and does not work with background play. The option doesn't show in settings either. Has anyone had this problem and does anyone know a fix? Very frustrating.

Same problem, but i found a workaround
choose a video and press play
when the video is playing, quickly double tap the powerbutton (so the display will be turned off and directly turned on and you'll be on the lockscreen, but the video keeps playing in the background nice for hearing music
@tdoughone In order to use background play you need to have a YouTube Music Key Subscription. If you have that already it should work fine for you but I suspect that is your issue.

i have a google play music subscription, which includes the youtube music key, and background playing works as it should.
Sorry, I have the play music subscription and it works for me. My friend has the phone with no play nusic subscription and he is the one with the problem. We figured that was the problem but asked in here just to be sure. Thanks for all of the help. It should just be available to everyone lol

OMG finally i found a thread with my issue lol I have been searching on my phone with no luck...it wasn't until I tried searching on my computer and filtered the results to "this week" did i find this thread....anywaaaaay lol I have the same issue, incredibly frustrating. I pay for Google Music All Access (which of course comes with Music Key as you said) and yet I don't have "background/offline" functionality anymore either.
I do not have the Nexus 6. I have the Galaxy S6. But I don't really see how that is relevant. I just wanted to mention just in case

have him uninstall youtube, reboot, then reinstall it. it should work right away.

Looks like it is a known issue...thankfully. Guess we will see how long it takes to fix...considering we pay for it!
EDIT:
lol are you kidding me...just opened youtube app and saw the "offline" option in the slide out menu from the left...checked settings...

My buddy with N6 claiming he has YouTube background playback (no actual settings in app) without any Music Key or any other Google services. He always thought its N6 feature because his N7 doesn't have it. He is on ATT.
Anyone know when we will get the new Google assistant that just debuted on the Google pixel announcement? I can't wait to use the lens features.

Should be, the Google Assistant app on Play Store basically just a shortcut so almost every phone can download to use GA now, and it won't work without internet connection, all the functionality is stored on Google side not on the phone itself.
Hi
Google Pay is arrived in Italy and I installed/setted 3 weeks ago with my cards.
Initially everything works fine, but now, since 3 days, in every place where I used NFC to pay message appears "impossible to use Google Pay".
In same shop where I used days before, without change nothing in the setting (is still default app for payment).
What I could check or what can be wrong?
I read about problem with Google Pay and P20Pro but my Google Play Services should be correct version...
Thanks for help
Hmm, is your device rooted? And is your playstore certified? You can check if the playstore is certified in the settings in the playstore app.

Have you tried this to fix? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v_RzbAhJkOk Dude says you have to install android/google pay and then request to enter the beta and then it should work.

I haven't seen this one come across - I'm on T-Mobile with an S10+. I did do the original update which was approx 462mb (it was 2am when I did it, so can't be sure), but nothing since then.
I am having the same issue. The message is being generated from TADownloader. All I get is the download, then couldn’t update try again

Seems a possible solution is to disable the Secure Folder. Figured this out myself after a phone call to Samsung where they told me they couldn't support the third party TADownloader which is made and installed by Samsung.
I Got this in the morning. Installed and updated. No details as to what it was fixing though.
Fingerprint
It's firmware update for the fingerprint reader
I also received and updated successfully
I did the update this morning successfully. I read it was available since yesterday on other countries and i was worried I wouldn't be able to do it because my phone is rooted now, but it was an "application" update not firmware update.
The fingerprint scanner is actually FAST now. Especially if you turn off the animation, it feels like S9 fast. It only misses if i don't place my finger fully on the scanner (duh), so there is some getting used to position your finger, but I am glad to see they actually fixed it this time.

Didn't work for me. I've had secure folder disabled from day 1. I went back and enabled all the knox crap plus the secure folder just in case the update relied on something from them. After enabling it installed. Not sure which specific service/app needed to be enabled.

Can't apply this manually
Seems like it's a Galaxy App Store update. It also can't be triggered manually. Did any T-Mobile USA customers get it on their device?
Can someone send an apk of it. It is the biometrics app
Didn't receive the update yet... Exynos
Nothing I seen to do is allowing it to update. I turned off secure folder, ensured all apps were enabled, and even disabled Adhell3.
To those who successfully applied the update, are you still on the ASBA software update or did you get the later one already? I'm still on ASBA so maybe that's causing the problem?

you need to update your google services it looks like... those options are on not on the newest update. I uninstalled the newest update and now it's beeping when I pull up the assistand but won't allow me to do anything other than update it.
apparently it's an issue w/ the latest google app update... if you uninstall then it will give audio feedback again but it won't do anything past that as it says it needs to update.
