Question Update to latest rom without losing root - Xiaomi 11T Pro

I am currently on MIUI 13.0.5.0 SKWEUXM. I have the latest Magisk installed and have activated root.
How can I update to the newest MIUI 13.0.8.0.SKWEUXM without losing root and of course without losing data?

The rom versions you say are for 11T(Mediatek) not an 11T pro(Qualcomm).
The root is lost, the data retained.
Unroot, update then root.

Yes, it's the 11T
When you write unroot, is that something I am supposed to do actively before or isn't it done automatically by updating?
Sorry to ask this as it has been quite some time since I rooted and I forgot how I did it. Can you point me to guides or specific keywords with which I can search?

The flash will remove the root and disable the modules but doing it before avoids an additional problem.
Use the Magisk apps.

yes it protects avast from being wiped with a factory reset by making it a system app, but a simple /system wipe from custom recovery, flashing a new rom or flash a ruu will remove it.
its useful if the person that find/steal your phone is not an experienced user but it can be erased easily by everyone here on xda.
however im using it myself, its a nice app, used it maybe 1 or 2 time to find that I left my phone at my job.
yeah...most users just knows about "factory reset" and thats it...
oh yeah..thanks for the tip !

New to the Active s6

I just recieved my imported AT&T s6 active and I'm super pleased by the phone!
The phone came with 5.1.1 preloaded and I'm assuming the bootloader is locked.
I've heard root is only available for 5.0 and root is a MUST for me can I downgrade with Odin and root?
Also does locked bootloader mean no flashing zips, right? Alas, no xposed?
Sorry, no root for you yet. Root only work on 5.0.1 and no downgrade. Thought you not necessarily need custom bootloader to flash zip, in S7 Active topic on XDA they do it through app, but still need root... Switch to s7A until your phone is new, or learn to live without root.

I've been trying to follow a method described in other forums and mentioned by many other xda users, but once I re flash stock firmware I don't have root access.
I suspect my problem is when running "ROOT_FIX.bat" having my phone on recovery.

I've no idea how to assess this.
Maybe this root method was just intended to be temporary for IMEI and CSC purpouses?
The forum I followed wasn't very explicative.

Magisk root dont working

Hi everyone, I recently unlocked the bootloader and installed twrp and magisk on my g9 plus (android 11)... But something is not right, even though root is working, I don't have any super user privileges, I tested 5 root uninstallers and I couldn't uninstall any apps from the system, and I can't modify the system files (I use solid explorer). I try downgrade to android 10 and flashing a old magisk, but I had no solution...

It is not that your device is not rooted, the app is showing you it does. Since A10 it was implemented dynamic partitions, so they are dynamically "mounted" and system remains as read/write only, some ROMs can re-implement that mounting the system where usually it is placed, and some TWRPs also can manage with this, you should try using the file browser in-built in TWRP and delete the apps manually.

EDIT:
I want to update from phone, so should I download version V13.0.8.0.SKHEUXM or V13.0.6.0.SKHMIXM to place it on my device and run the manual update?
Or better still wait?

You have an EEA(EU) version you cannot install a global(MI) without unlocking the bootloader.
Start with V13.0.3.0.SKHEUXM.
Btw:You have a poco F3(alioth) not GT, post here:
