Question no devices in fastboot after the oxygen 12 update - OnePlus Nord CE 5G

EDIT3:
Resolved! I changed the usb port on my computer... Weird problem as adb worked fine over the old port. What I say about having relocked the bootloader below is wrong. I just assumed I had because my system said so and I didn't see the scary letters at startup. Leaving this here in case it helps future idiots.
Excuse me if this is a dumb question. I'm not too familiar with how this is exactly supposed to work.
I tried to update and messed up (of course) so I had to do a full reset which relocked my bootloader. Now I have a locked device on the latest software but I can't see the device in with `fastboot devices` anymore. Thus I can't unlock the bootloader again.
I'm running the apt installed version of fastboot on ubuntu.
EDIT:
I did find the oem unlock toggle in settings but it's greyed out.
EDIT2:
`lsusb` is also recognizes nothing in when the device is in fastboot mode.

[Solved] Stuck on white hboot screen while downgrading

Hi,
I had unlocked boot loader through HTCdev on latest GB stock ROM. So, obviously I was S-ON.
Meanwhile, I tried many ROMs but manually flashing boot image in hastboot.
I had following status of last running mobile when I tried to get S-OFF
Bootloader status: unlocked
S-ON
HBOOT 2.00.0000
Recovery: CWM
ROM: CynovivoX (JB 4.1.2)
Yesterday, I tried to get S-off by downgrading as per following thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1705913
There were lots of error while script was running, but one I remember was related to goldcard.
While running RUU, It goes well till I find something Error 131, Customer ID related and than exit.
After trying script and RUU many times, my status is
Bootloader status: Relocked
S-ON
HBOOT 2.00.0000
Recovery: ? (can't see or access anymore)
ROM: -
when running fastboot devices, my device is appearing
but in adb devices, nothing there
So, is there still any possibility to recover from this bricked state?
Desperately looking for expert help as I am not developer but somehow....tried this thinking would not be that difficult business....so help.
Try running the latest RUU and restarting everything over. Make sure to pick the right RUU for your region. The latest build number should be 4.14.XXXXX...
Also, in fastboot, your device isn't supposed to be visible with command of adb devices.
Another thing u could try is to unlock the bootloader again and see if u can access recovery again. Adb works in recovery
Sent from the head of the Hammer
If you can get into fastboot but don't have a recovery installed, can't you just flash a new recovery? E.g. grab clockworkmod, connect your phone to your computer via usb and:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recovery-clockwork-5.0.2.0-vivo.img
(obviously replace above code with actual name of .img file)
err this might be stupid, but click on bootloader > recovery.
Looks like you are already in a sub menu when you boot the bootloader.
The error while downgrading is related to you not relocking your phone before downgrading. Always relock before downgrading with an RUU.

Thanks all guys.
But problem fixed. I have unlocked the bootloader again through htcdev and it worked.
Now let me share issue for all other nondevelopers like me who may also face such issue...
runme script is suppose to push some files through adb commands and then reboot to fastboot mode to lock bootloader.
I had adb drivers installed as I got prompt from statusbar.
However still, while running downgrade script (runme), phone was not detected in adb mode and hence no file was pushed to phone. After reboot, phone detected in fastboot and OEM successfully relocked.
I am really surprised why device not found error not appeared and script not stopped. Later I came to know this by running the script without connecting phone and it ran with asking Q&A with found device, and also reading log file.
Then I ran RUU who wiped everything.
So, my device left without any ROM and with OEM locked. I can't access or install recover, ROM etc and RUU was having goldcard error.
Somehow tried to unlock again through token provided by HTCDev earlier (around 2 years back).
And thing become normal and in my control.
My advise: always check "adb devices" before running the script as I found script is misleading of found device and finally locking device. And if such thing happen, easiest one is to get in unlocked from HTCDev and restart whole process.

From what I'm reading, I'm getting a much clearer image of what happened. I believe your problem to be just driver errors...
The script itself is supposed to run regardless of whether phone is properly connected with proper drivers and whatnot. After all, it's just a set of commands in cmd.
But seeing as you ONLY got Error 131, you could have solved this by simply creating a goldcard.

Phone was connected in adb mode. This I can say by checking notifications in android and statusbar prompt in windows 7. While running script only, something got wrong getting adb mode not detected.
Anyway, Goldcard was also in my next line of action, but not sure even after creating Goldcard, I may stuck as version-main was not downgraded to 2. However, tried and got resolved with much simpler effort of unlocking through htcdev.
May be, I am also not that competent to understand developing world and only good enough to simply flash ROMs and updates as per instructions.
Anyway, thanks.

New to nokia, not android/adb/etc

So I just got my shiny new Nokia 8 and it seems to be updated to the latest version of Pie. Reading through all the root forums/threads, I'm noticing a couple issues with my phone that I'm not seeing mentioned:
-In Dev settings, OEM unlocking is off and grayed out, I can't toggle it.
-When I try to access download mode/bootloader (volume down/plug in cable from pc) my screen does a little flashy thing and then goes straight to the battery percentage.
-I can ADB devices just fine and see the phone, when I ADB reboot bootloader, the phone gets stuck on a screen showing "powered by android'', with "download mode" in the upper left corner, and any fastboot commands return absolutely nothing.
Any tips or suggestions?
Many thanks

- you cant toggle it because you have not unlocked the bootloader. Sometimes even after you unlock it it will be greyed out, which isnt of importance. To unlock the bootloader downgrade to Oreo November update by sideloading the relevant ROM, then follow the the official HMD instructions.
- Make sure USB debugging is turned on under developer options.
- Are you attempting to boot into the OS or recovery here? Abd reboot is enough to boot into your system. To boot into recovery use adb reboot recovery. Or do it manually using the keys.
Ok, everything I've read so far says to make sure OEM unlock is enabled before you do anything else, so you've confused me now. And none of the guides talk about sideloading the ROM, so you've thrown a new twist with that as well.
USB debugging is enabled, and my computer sees the device via adb devices, but if I try adb reboot recovery, all I get is the little android icon with the red triangle over him, and if I try adb reboot bootloader, basically nothing happens. And I wasn't trying to boot into the OS or recovery, I'm not a noob but maybe this phone is just different enough from what I'm used to I guess.
So basically I'm stuck right now, can't boot into recovery, can't sideload a ROM, can't boot into the bootloader/download mode either.

Actually, thank you, you got me thinking and I was able to get downgraded to the Oreo, got my code from Nokia and unlock.key, now the only thing I'm still having a hard time with is my computer won't detect my phone in fastboot mode. Works just fine in normal ADB commands, but no fastboot...
You'd think my drivers are all fine and that since ADB sees the device, but maybe not?

Bootloader, unlocked! Now if I can get the rest of my home wireless **** to work this well/easily, thank you for getting me pointed in the right direction, all good here (I hope).

Im guessing you finally realised they after getting the android icon with the red triangle u have to press volume up and hold it then tap the power key to enter the recovery. Good to know you managed to unlock the bootloader eventually.
A lot of people have been having issues with fastboot, especially on Windows machines . Try restarting the shell or use a different USB port on your computer?also maybe try a different driver version and see if it helps.

boot loader will not unlock

In the past I have unlocked the boot loaders for Pixel, Pixel 2 and Pixel 3 always on first try and I know how to do it. But my new Pixel 5, US unlocked version, arrived today, will not boot loader unlock. I have dev options enabled, USB debugging on, and allow OEM unlock set on. I'm using a Mac so my fastboot commands are ./fastboot___. With the Pixel 5 in fastboot mode, ./fastboot devices gives a correct response, the device responds with its serial number. But then with ./fastboot flashing unlock nothing happens. Just sits there. When I give the command the terminal cursor moves down to the next line but there is no response from the device. I've turned off, rebooted, repeated multiple times, same result. I tried the old ./fastboot oem unlock and that does not work either (as expected).
Has anyone else encountered this? Advice?
Using latest adb/fastboot? I had problems flashing/unlocking the device because I tried it with an old adb/fastboot version.
If that doesn't help then try using another computer. Often windows doesn't (I know you're probably using mac) correctly recognize devices in fastboot mode, which is why you have to manually add google drivers in windows device manager if 'fastboot devices' doesn't detect the device.
Good luck!

Thanks, Michael. I am using the latest SDK with current platform-tools, and don't have another computer. Tried several different cables, no luck. However, I've decided to forgo unlocking the BL and just set it up locked. I no longer use root nor custom ROMs and future TWRP is very unlikely so I'm going to stay boot loader locked for the first time in many years. Will see how it goes. I really have not needed/used it since OS10.
Thanks again.

Can't Re-lock bootloader

I've been an android developers for years and years now and even have made my own ROMs, but this phone....this phone is testing me. I unlocked it months ago to install an original Android 11 ROM, but it was awful and lacked support for even the most basic functionality, so I flashed the stock image back. That alone was a nightmare and I don't remember how I managed it. That being said, the Asus Android 11 update is rolling out OTA and can be downloaded directly from their site. I downloaded it and put it in the root directory, where it is found on start-up, but when I tell it to install, it fails after a few seconds and doesn't give me any explanation for it. I thought it may be that the bootloader is unlocked, so I've been trying to re-lock it for weeks with no success. I managed to get the damn fastbootd mode recognised by my computer and it sees the phone, but when I give it any relock command I receive this error:
"FAILED (remote: Command not supported in default implementation)"I have no clue what to make of that or what it even means. My only guess is that the commands I'm using aren't supported in the latest version of the tools. I've tried the following commands:
fastrboot oem asus-lock
fastboot oem lock
fastboot oem asus_csk_lk
fastboot flashing lock
fastboot oem relock (I don't think that's a real command, but I was irritated and figured it was worth a shot)
I'm at a total loss. All I want is to get Android 11 to the damn thing and the OTA isn't coming through to my phone. The phone itself is an international model I bought from China back before it was released in the US. IDK if that's causing a problem, but at this point I'm out of ideas. I'd also note that normal fastboot, found by going to the bootloader instead of "adb reboot fastboot" doesn't even allow the computer to recognise the phone and when I try to install the fastboot driver via device manager, it outright refuses to install it. There's no apparent way to get it to install the driver anyway. I AM able to get it to install the driver and see the phone while in fastbootd mode.
Anyone got any ideas?
fastrboot oem asus-lock
This worked for me on tencent phone converted to ww firmware. I had no troubles with updating to 11 from 10 as well. I had also no troubles to flash raw firmware with bootloader unlocked.
Waiting now for new ww firmware as CN has been already released couple days ago.. If they didn't fix thing I'm annoyed with I going back to 10!
Try different cable. Had guy from reddit with same problem like yours and simple new cable sorted everything
fastboot oem asus_csk_lk should do it.
I think you may be in the wrong fastboot mode You need to be in the bootloader. Try powering off and boot with Vol UP + Power until you land on the bootloader page (don't navigate to Fastboot from the bootloader menu, just stay on the bootloader menu. Doing 'fastboot reboot bootloader' should also do the trick but suggest trying with the physical buttons.

How to flash or close the bootloader on open pixel 5a ? g.co/ABH

Hi I've a pixel5, it was reset to V11 software for compatibility with my son's medical device. Now with added security the app wont work because the bootlaoder is open. When I boot it say sits unlocked and to visit g.co/ABH
I've tried but cannot get it closed
When I go to fastboot I get the 'no command'.. on tring to flash it allows me to see the device and reboot the bootloader BUT then it will not respond to the cmd fastboot devices. when I try fastboot flashing lock it just says <waiting for device>
Any help? !
Billy
Try installing the usb driver https://developer.android.com/studio/run/win-usb

I'm confused about "sits unlocked" and if this means you're stuck on the unlocked bootloader warning screen. If the phone hangs you're better off keeping the bootloader unlocked until that problem is sorted out. If it's starting, on the other hand...
Waiting for device means fastboot isn't communicating with the phone. Could be USB drivers. But if you flashed Android 11 from the same computer, drivers were working then, right?
In Developer options make sure USB debugging is enabled. While there, and while the bootloader is still unlocked, make sure OEM unlock is in the On position; it will flip back to Off when the bootloader is locked again.
Use Platform Tools 33.0.3 when trouble shooting USB to avoid trouble shooting Platform Tools 34.x.x.
As long as you get serial number output from commands adb devices and fastboot devices, fastboot flashing lock should work to re-lock the bootloader. Remember to finalize locking with the phone buttons.
Thank you both is was indeed the USB driver that needed the google update... All is well! thanks
