Question Theming OOS 12 - OnePlus 10 Pro

I miss the look of pure android and the customisation possibilities.
Have heard of people using substratum to theme OOS but have never had much luck in the past with themes on any phone using substratum.
Has anyone dabbled with substratum or any other theme engine?
Primarily something to change settings / quick settings and perhaps other aspects of the phones system.
Also a fool proof way back should something gone wrong.
If anyone's managed to install a theme, what did you do?
What did you install?
How did you remove it?
What firmware were you on?
What theme did you install?
If we can't install a custom ROM then perhaps we can make our devices look customized.
Any info / ideas / thoughts or experiences would be appreciated.
Cheers

[theme] orange pulse [24/07/2010]

ORANGE PULSE
Hi everyone. I've been using this forum a lot to learn about theming so it's about time to give something back . Because i own a T-Mobile Pulse my themes are based on Android 2.1 that is heavily modified by T-Mo and Huawei. And i don't know if my themes have been tested on other devices. You can try them or modify them so that they work on your Android phones
The theme is flashable via recovery and it will only change framework-res.apk
NANDROID BACKUP JUST TO BE SAFE
Cheers
Of, really nice one, ! congratulations.
DO you know if this would work for cm508?

Gingerbread Goodies for Stock Roms

Hi there,
I've tried practically every custom ROM out there, and ultimately, I've found myself preferring to install the stock ROMs + cfRoot.
When JVB came out, I used the excellent "5 lockscreen mod" from dhiru1602 to get various goodies that are the staple of custom ROMs such as choice of lockscreen, scroll, overglow, CRT sleep effect and extended power menu. (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1036859).
I'm now looking at installing JVO, which I don't think is supported by that mod. Does anyone know how else I can these goodies on their own, without having to install a new theme entirely, and keep as close-to-stock as possible?
Thanks in advance for any tips.
if you want to do it on your own you should know about compile and decompile of apk files and also know how to work with smali and baksmali moreover you should be familiar with xml and java perhaps. its a long way to go friend.
I have seen some mods for jvo at theme section which are close to the stock rom
Brotuck has created a mod which is EXACTLY what I was looking for! Eureka!

[Q] Paranoid Android change font?

Fairly new to this Rom flashing lark, so far have installed and am really enjoying Paranoid Android 2.16 but I would like to change the system font, as I don't like the one it comes with. Have tried a couple of Font Installer apps from the market, but they only lead to it not booting and having to reflash the rom.
I thought the point of custom roms was so you can change things to have them as you want? Why deny us this one (surely) simple thing?
Any help would be appreciated

I even have bought an app that installs additional fonts to the system.
And it's not even a root app... selecting a font is just a regular android feature.
Luckily i still can use my Rom Toolbox Pro App.
But with the other app i can select the font normally via settings...
and i don't have to reboot...

[Q] GE Themes and Tweaks?

Does anyone have any good resources on where to look for information on tweaks and themes for the Google Edition ROMs for the HTC One?
As far as I understand it the Xposed mods will work if you use the ones labeled for the Nexus devices. Are there any downsides to using Xposed?
And for themes I guess AOSP themes would work? Not even sure where to find those. How easy is it to update themes and how often do they break (i.e. every time you flash to update your ROM version)?
Thanks!

Have a look through the Themes and Apps section
Thanks, but it seems most of these are for Sense ROMs. Do you know if there is a resource for AOSP themes, and if so, do they work on the GE?
atm i didn't see nothing.
You can check, but i think you will found anything...

[Pie] - No Root - Dark Mode

Hi all,
Just updated my XZ1C to Android 9.
I had Substratum with some dark themes installed on Android 8.
I did not read any substratum notes, and just updated to android 9.
Apparently Android needs root now for custom themes to apply.
Is this really the case?
Is the only option to root, to get dark-mode back again?
I can't seem to find custom ROMS which are Pie based.
Only a beta of LineageOS for Android8.

There is Xpie, not that I am recomending it in any way. Loading it looks pretty problematic.
But if you're going to root your phone to load a custom rom, then Substratum will work fine on rooted 9

do the swift themes work with stock/sony apps e.g. dialer, settings, files, etc.? or only AOSP / custom roms?
there's a fee for the installer app, when downloading the actual themes, is there an additional charge?
thanks!

no dice on the sony apps i'm afraid, with the exception of sony music. there's a full list of supported apps here. it's pretty much all google and AOSP apps and an assortment of other stuff.
re: payment, you pay for the app once and you can configure the theme however you want. so you can rechoose background and accent colours to your heart's content. much less onerous than substratum imo.
