I got this phone as a gift from my relative but its MI account locked(xiaomi frp) so I cant use it and my relatives just don't have access to their old account and phone number so I have no way of accessing the mi page and unlocking from there so anyone have a way to bypass this FRP or remove it? Please any help would be appreciated cuz I really need a phone and this would be very useful
Seeing some YouTube video suggestions. I wonder if there is a system app that can be updated via ADB that could resolve it?

MI account locked, or Google account locked? You can delete the Google account from the phone. You can wipe the ROM via Fastboot and reinstall it using a stock image source, then get a fresh shot at logging into MIUI, but not sure it is required. You have to type in the account details, it isn't automatic. I did it to unlock it but now I see it no longer is logged in. My suspicion is because of system updates, etc.
Google frp is simple to remove, As for Mi Account, seems to be happening a lot on here, surely the previous owner wouldve removed his details and accounts and reset the phone before passing on or selling. NOT saying yours is, but this usually very common with found or stolen phones, hence the need for security. If its Mi account locked your probably going to have to get in touch with Xiaomi and maybe pay for a service center to do it, but they absolutley will want proof of purchase or gift to ensure it is what it is and indeed not a stolen phone.

Places like CEX in the UK now wont buy 2nd hand phones unless thats been dealt with or icloud locked Iphones, but you are right, if someone is passing on a phone they really need to make sure all associated ownership is removed, Xiaomi compared to others seems to be an issue getting it resolved.

I assume you can't get into Recovery either? Any Xiaomi-created desktop tool will want you to log in. If it allows that, you could use different Xiaomi credentials. I know there is an ADB/Fastboot Xiaomi desktop tool but no experience if it will get you through a locked Fastboot.

Oh. Try wiping data, i.e. phone reset. If that doesn't help, it might be one of the system apps holding the Xiaomi acct. Since you can use ADB, that gives you a full ROM install capability. External SD will help for that. I do not have the ADB syntax handy. I have done this myself, but Googling will help. Recovery might allow you to connect to ADB via your PC, as well. You can isolate which Xiaomi app handles account verification and you could first try updating or removing it or wiping its data via ADB. The "Xiaomi ADB/Fastboot tools.jar" shows all the ADB features it does manually, for which you can use ADB manually. Be prepared to update your desktop java/jre if you get an error launching the .jar with a double-click. You can also reveal the complete ADB syntax. The syntax includes "adb shell" plus other required syntax commands in an Admin command prompt. Google is your friend. Good luck.

uh no u cant install anything like twrp from the sideload(its not a full access adb)
Google should have some suggestions if someone else has an idea. I can't picture just sideload without full adb capability. Use an admin command prompt on your PC. Perhaps some info on how/why it became locked this way, even if the original owner can't or won't help, via Googling I mean. If some security feature in the phone was trippped, it might be intentional to keep you from using it, but I find it really hard to believe non-nubes can't just crack it.

The protection is there for a good reason, for both the owner and Xiaomi.
You can access EDL but you still need Xiaomi authorized service account to do anything in there. There's nothing you could do except go to Xiaomi service center along with complete materials of ownership that the real owner really cannot unlock it.
Some illegal box might be able to reset it via EDL, but beware their method is never guarantee worked and it might totally brick the phone.

I do not love Magisk. Can I install TWRP and then SuperSu?
My phone is coming today. I want magisk because I want to use the app to customize.
Yes, that will work, TWRP is key here, magisk or SU is a preference. Grab the full ROM (1.4 GB) make a backup and you are good to go, you'll be able to recover no matter what you do.
Has anybody yet managed to unlock, install TWRP and flash EU rom? My device arrives tomorrow and this is the first thing I want to do.
I tried to unlock but I can't even unlock the phone. Maybe I'm an idiot but it's just too hard to follow this directions and there's also some Chinese involved.

Usually takes about 36 hours hours till you get unlock it through xiaomi.
FWIW,the vast majority of the original Mi MIX handsets that were sold by 3rd party vendors shipped with an unlocked bootloader, same w/the Mi Note2 Global version.
Have any of you checked for an unlocked bootloader?
Good question. Open the dialer, *#*#7378423#*#* should pop up a new system info window, you can verify in it.
...or just try to fastboot flash recovery twrp.img and see what happens.

i just got my mix 2 and had the same problem, use plexvpn and choose the shanghai gateway
Will try that when I get home. I actually got them to give me permission to unlock but now in the unlocking tool it says at 99 percent that the device is not associated with the account or something like that. I try to associate my account in developer options and I get a 10008 error. This is so brutal
That plexvpn did it with Shanghai location! Thank you. Now I will try and unlock and see what the next puzzle brings me!
This is crazy! Just had another problem. Tried to unlock by the unlock tool and now it says "Couldnt unlock. Binding time is too short. Less than 72 hours." UGH!!!! Any help would be appreciated!
You have to wait it out I'm afraid - I don't believe there is any shortcut. I had same issue with Mi 6 and it worked exactly after time had expired. You're nearly there...just a bit more patience!
Hi there,
unfortunately I bricked my Mi8 during a ROM Flash. I could not see the options as they were "hidden" because of the resolution of my screen. And unfortunately the standard option seems to be "lock", so it did and now I cannot flash any ROM anymore.
Is the method with opening the phone and get in touch with a doggy service to unlock it still up date?
Is there anything I could do? Will Xiaomi help me if I write them an email?
Help would be much appreciated.
Well, not knowing what you flashed and how you did it, it's hard to give an advice.
Can you boot to recovery, fastboot?
If you want some "output" you have to give more "input".
Is you phone recognized if you connect it to the pc? Perhaps you can revive it with mi flash and a complete rom (tgz). Be aware of the danger of relock!
I know I did a mistake as i flashed it wrong as I did not choose the correct setting (just clean instead of clean and lock). I did not see the options when I did the flash as they were "hidden". The Bootloader is locked and therefore I cannot flash another ROM.
I can get into fastboot, no problem. But I cannot load a ROM (Bootloaderbis locked).
I do wonder if there is any way instead of opening the phone and get in touch with a commercial unlocker service.

Is your device a Global or Chinese device and how long ago did you buy it and where from? If the bootloader was unlocked when you attempted to flash whatever you flashed then it was unlocked by someones account. Are you saying that you did not unlock it?
If you did unlock it yourself, then you can unbrick it. If someone else unlock the bootloader you should try contacting that person to get their id and password to unlock the device again, and then you can remove their account from the device and replace it with yours.

If you unpack the rom and it unzips into a larger version of the rom, unpack the new unpacked larger version, it will unpack into a folder, inside the folder local the flashall.bat file and with the phone connected double click it and wait 5 to 10 minutes until it reboots by itself, you will see the screen to connect to wifi, and then to add you account credentials, enter credentials, enjoy your restored phone.

You don't, ( well not anymore) you only pay someone to unlock if you do not have your account bound to the device. The person that you would pay has a vendors master unlocking account, these are very limited and these people are mostly located in Russia and Vietnam.

Hi there,
that brings some light into the darkness, although I am did not completely understood all you wrote.
1. I bought the device used in Germany and it is the German version. It was unlocked and I installed Havoc OS which worked fine. Then I thought I should update Havoc OS and that'S what I did. This ended in a Bootloop. I went into the Recovery and it was kinda weird as it asked me in chinese to enter my pattern. I did and after that the touchscreen stopped working. Still could get into recovery and also install a new one via fastboot. But same problem. Then I googled and as I understood the solution to other people was an earlier MIUI ROM which I installed via the Mi Flash tool and here I am chosing the wrong selection for the flash and ending up in a brick.
2. I don't have the device connected to my MI account. So I guess I need someone with a vendor account? S Unlock also offers a software (one has still to pay) which works without the help of someone logging into and using e.g. Teamviewer. (at least that is their claim)
3. I cannot connect the device with MI flash and therefore no flash of a ROM is possible which brings me to
4. In any case, I for sure have to ****ing open the phone and play with the EDL Touchpoints? Right?
If one has any further ideas let me know, I am really fed up with this ****.

Okay that better explains your real issue
You had an issue with the lockscreen, which could had been resolved by removing encryption ( formatting user data ) by using ADB or using the Tool All in One. ) Unfortunately, you misunderstood what the issue was and flashed a rom without unchecking unlock bootloader.
Since the bootloader has been relocked, you may need the original account info that unlocked the bootloader. ( If it's still bound to the device) If possible contact the person that you bought the phone from and get their account, then you can use the steps that I listed above by placing the phone into EDL.
If you are asked for a Mi account password, after restoration, then the phone is absolutely still bound to the previous owners account.
You do not necessarily need to open the phone :
You can probably use ADB to place the phone into EDL mode : adb reboot edl
You can use an EDL cable Such as this one
On some phones it is possible to enter EDL by pressing and holding the power button and the volume up and down simultaneously, you can very that the phone is in EDL by connecting it to your PC then go to Control Panel/System/ports <<<< Here you will see port 9008, that means you are in EDL mode.
After installing fastboot rom via flash all.bat method
After connecting to WIFI, you may be asked for the Mi Cloud account (if linked) If so contact the previous owner for that account info, then once the phone has gone through setup, remove the account from the phone in settings/Backup ( It is also possible that the phone is not bound to a account) If no account is linked then you will be able to link a new account and then wait 72 to 360 hours to be able to re-unlock the bootloader.
If the phone is bound to a previous user,
The only option is to use a reputable service company who has a master unlock account. if this is indeed the case, you should try contact Xiaomi and see if they can recommend someplace close to where you live.
@berndbrecht
I just found out via the Mi-Globe website that a XDA member has an official Xiaomi Unlock account and the price is extremely fair: I would suggest contacting @NikSalsa

If the phone is not linked to a Xiaomi account this request will never arrive.
This case is frequent with a second-hand phone where the former owner forgot to delete it from his account.
This is one of the security in case of loss or theft of the device.

Contact Xiaomi or go to a Xiaomi repair center, with the invoice for the device proving ownership.

If you never set a security lock, like pin, gesture or fingerprint, there is a small chance to startup again.
Otherwise you can't startup without Mi Service.
If you wiped your data, everything is gone, but not the encryption, so Miui can't acces the data partition. You need to format the data partition for removing that encryption too.

thx for the reply any idea or tutorial to proceed ?
It's the security on the lock screen that encrypts the data.
By formatting the data you delete your data and the encryption but you will still have the unlock request at startup since the phone is linked to a Xiaomi account.
I think you are right. Even without some security lockoptions, you must pass always the lockscreen.
But I was under the assumption that you didn't need a Mi account for that.

You understood everything.
You still got some options left...
U can play around and see if it work...
YouTube can lead you for the tools you gonna need...search bypass m account
The other way, is to replace the logic board card ... Easy thing to do... Just make sure order the rite version for your device... That will solve it 100%

Mi account sign up process always asks at least one way to verify your account, either it's a phone number or an active email.
Hard to believe just because you said it's "your phone". If it is, the linked mi account can be recovered either by email registered by it or a phone number used to verify the account. Unless both of your email and phone number is already inactive, it just makes the process longer, but still possible.
Reminds me of case of hardware dealer claimed Apple intentionally "lock" their laptops so that they cannot be resold. Whatever he claimed to be, either it's "donated, the owner didn't know", "bought at trusted refurbished reseller" -- when it's locked, it's hard to verify whether it was really donated or just "stolen". Some people would lie to meet their ends.
Do you have a custom recovery? If you have twrp or orangefox, then you can install a custom rom that is not miui and it doesn't ask you for a miui account.

Since this cannot happen, be sure to refrain from providing any information likely to bypass security.

You can only install a custom recovery and rom if the bootloader is unlocked.
For that you need a Mi account.
Because this isn't the case he is complete ruled out.
Hi guys!
I have the redmi k20 pro premium china rom, but its currently stuck in a bootloop so I cant get past the booting-up screen nor can i use the fastboot feature.
However, I still really want to get my photos from the phone, I don't have any cloud services connected.
I was wondering if there was any way to retrieve the photos since to get out of a bootloop I need to factory reset which will delete the memory.
Im willing to tear apart the phone however I doubt that will do anything?
Thanks in advance!!
(I wrote this question in the normal thread but found out there's a k20 specific one.)

Hey
Depending on what you did if your bootloader is unlocked you can use Mi Flash Tool and flash the Fastboot ROM if you can get to there. Just make sure to select Save user data. If you can't get into Fastboot Mode it is possible to get the Phone working anyway on another way but everything will be deleted.

When you turn on your phone, is there a lock sign? If yes it's unlocked and if no I don't know what to do because unlocking bootloader needs erasing everything. Maybe you can go to a repair shop which gives you somehow the photos back.

To unlock the Bootloader, the owner has to do procedures...
install tools, register account on the Xiaomi side, request unlocking, wait 7 days...
If you bought the phone from Xiaomi (not a second hand or from a reseller) and you are not familiar with all the above, then your BL is for sure locked
In Fastboot, run the command and it will tell you if the BL is locked or not:
fastboot oem device-info

Yes, but like I said it'll delete everything and the phone needs to be working to associate a Xiaomi Account via Mobile Data.

Of course it will delete
But I said, if you IN THE PAST did not unlock Bootloader and did not buy it from a previous owner or reseller who did unlock, then the Bootloader is for sure locked since Xiaomi sells the phones with locked Bootloaders
Besides, if you cannot boot to the System, you cannot initiate now the procedure to unlock the Bootloader

Yes. I guess his photos are gone. Anyway I'd recommend for any rooted phone (I know his isn't) to use the Unlimited Google Photos Magisk Module.

Photos can be also automatically stored to Mi Account
But most simply, from time to time, connect the phone to PC by USB cable and copy /DCIM/Camera folder to the PC
No need for unlocking Bootloader, no need for cloud accounts, etc

Mi Cloud has 15 GB and Magisk Mod gives you unlimited. That's why I mentioned it. But without doing anything like that, you're right.
So theres no way to retrieve it if the boot loader is locked?
