You can try, but on first strange behavior, you can't really complain about it here. I highly recommend to always clean flash when changing android version. In case of cr8 -> cr9, you don't need to format data, just wipe it.

Bootleggers ROM is an aftermarket firmware based on AOSP with some patches and fixes from LineageOS and various other projects. The idea is to bring custom features and some of the most useful apps on your device, with the goal of Making you feel like 家.
With an almost stable source, this ROM is also packed with some custom wallpapers (avaliable on ShishuWalls), ringtones, fonts, and themes to bring to your device into a more fresh look and give you always a good experience.

@malinathani Since we don't have a cache partition since it's an A/B device, would you mind deleting it from the instructions in the OP so people aren't taking any extra unnecessary steps when flashing?
Working pretty well. Adaptive brightness seems a bit janky though. Seems to flicker at the same brightness level in the room.

Well that seems weird, I'm not facing anything like that.
Actually, smurf's kernel has a flicker free mod (which is off by default)
Try using that and see if the issue is there.
You need to ad magisk before boot back into recovery otherwise it's good night to be encrypted....

This rom is seriously amazing. 2 things though, is there OnePlus like gestures? I couldn't seem to find them. And when trying to use fling gestures, system ui kept crashing

Although I just noticed my battery... Down from 100% to 72% with only 9 min SOT
Google play services is the culprit according to battery stats. It's taking up over 20% of battery..

Instructions :
First of all you need to flash this twrp (I recommend) if not this you can also use other available twrp's.
Flash vbmeta by fastboot (fastboot --disable-verity flash vbmeta vbmeta.img) [click on vbmeta to download]
Boot into twrp and Format data and wipe system/data/cache/dalvik.
Flash the rom zip
After installing the rom , flash the gapps i am going to add into the downloads section.
If you want to root, flash Magisk
Reboot to System.
Upgrading from earlier version of crDroid:
The only difference between clean flash as above and upgrading is you just wipe system & cache, leaving data. Everything else is the same. ***Remember to always clean flash before reporting problems. Clean flashing is always the best method of ROM install.

yes, it will erase entire internal storage. You should do this everytime you are flashing new rom. "Dirty flash is only for incremental updates"...

only data and system wipe would mean a clean flash; wouldn't it, coz thats all I needed to do in previous phones or is it necessary in phones with treble ? or it is just recommended ?

Basically, its only recommended. But if you wont wipe internal storage, you may encounter bugs and you are on your own about fixing them.

Take in mind, you have to install only 4.19-based kernels.

Thanks for the rom, but i have a problem, setupwizard keep closing.
Tested with opengapps and nikgapps.
edit: already tried install gapps after first boot.
edit2: So, I managed to make it work. I had to install Nikgaps with Pixelize and Setup Wizard addon.
I should try this ROM (i've relocked my phone days ago, fml), thanks for your work, i really need to see how the 4.19 kernel work on our sd660

OTA should works fine. Make a nandroid backup anyway.
Fingerprint reader Issue: I run crdroid 7.4 on my Redmi Note 7 without ant other issue but this one: fingerprint reader stopes working after some time and I have to unlock phone with PIN code. When I reset phone it works again for the next few hours/unlockings and stops working again..

Some of people said that they got a bootloop also, well for my tests it was fine, I guess it could be a issue related to installed software, like Magisk or anything else, if it is then its not mine problem to deal with.
I don’t know what you did with the rom, it’s even faster now and better than ever. The gps will find a signal in 5 seconds, leakage is minimal (e.g. 100% battery charge in the evening, 96% in the morning). Since I am not a heavy user, this is the most important piece of information for me. Best rom, thanks to the developer.

Correct, I uninstalled magisk and it updates fine. This does however indicate that the magisk boot image patcher doesn't work properly. I'm happy the workaround works though!
Having some battery drain...and it's a little lagy.. any kernel suggestion?

Thank You, looks good, but i can't install MicroG and/or Magisk. It always ends in Bootloop. I tried all Variants (Format Data, MicroG as Magisk Modul), but nothing works.
for now i found :
-anx108 and selfie is 2mp
-anx other avatar sticker don't work
-anx slow motion don't slow nothing (only ANX, with gcam work)
-missing some good tiles (example sound panel and reboot)
-assistant don't work (tried bitgapps and fgapps, assistant is always not installed)
-double tap to unlock don't work (only if AOD is enabled)
-in lockscreen AOD clock is not in center (sometimes random)
-can't change system color (monet), only custom or default
Thanks, shame it aint encrypted as work profile will not work on it now

you must flash magisk canary and twrp3.6.0

Is the ROM verizon compatable?
Hi, I'm coming from AOSP extended, which I flashed coming from stock OOS11 + "fastboot update image.zip". Do I need to MSM-unbrick before I install this rom or can I flash right away without having to do any prior re-stocking first? Thanks!
