Attempting to get Android Auto (AA) to work on and Galaxy S6, android 6, and FYT head unit running Carlink version 2.22.0829.1408.
After upgrading Google play services and downgrading AA to version 7.4 on the galaxy s6 attempting to connect the phone displays "! Android Auto not Available. Android Auto is not compatible with this device".
From what I understood version 7.4 was the last version to work on android 6. Anyone know of a workaround without upgrading the OS on the phone?

Hi, i have a samsung note3 with root and my car can't connect, some one have a solution or not possible connect rooted phone with android auto? Thanks
Hi,
Root is not a problem with AA.
Maybe a ROM issue...
I have a rooted note 3 and it worked fine with Android Auto. Don't think it has anything to do with being rooted. Have you checked you're not using a 'charge-only' usb cable?
....sorry..i tryed android auto in my seat ibiza...function think problem is my rom audax. Thanks boy
Google play service 15.0.90
Android auto 3.6 all the way to 4.0 nothing worked.
Phone Samsung j6+
Magisk superuser is checked and I tried deactivating it and activating it again' rebooted, but does not support touch on my head unit.
Thanks in Advance !
Same problem!
Did you solve?
Same here!
Having the same issue with AA Stream, Stream2Auto, and AA Mirror. It was previously working fine.
Just tried putting AAMirror and Screen2Auto on my old phone (Le Max2) and it works just fine.
Android 9 - RevengeOS
AAuto: 5.1.500664-release
On my newer phone (Pixel 3a XL) it still does not work running the following:
Android 10
AAuto: 5.3.501644-release
Both phones are fresh installs of Android OS
I bought a Note 9 N9600 / DS (I live in Brazil) and it is running Android 8.1 Oreo.
Do you recommend upgrading to Android 10 or better to put a cleaner rom than version 8.1?
Thank you
I have 0 complains with Android 10. Can safely say go ahead and update. I didn't even try 8.1 and 9 - the day I bought my Note9 2 months ago I did all updates for 2 hours non-stop
Some people have been lucky with Android 10 on the Note 9. But I have not been one of them. I have an issue with the Secure Folder on Android 10 with my N960N, is that I can't update Wechat via the Secure Folder. It would always stop midway then crash the secure folder and display a downloading addition file notification. I have reported the issue to Samsung I am not sure if this will be resolved with the next update.
But I have downgraded the OS on my Note 9 back to Android Pie. Which works like a treat!
Hi All,
Im have a S10 running Linux4's unofficial Lineage os 18.1 and I cannot seem to get the AA to connect to the car (Mazda 2021) .
The app runs on the phone, but when plugged in the infotainment system says it cannot connect to android auto.
Ive tried a bunch of different roms, all have the same outcome, i've tried the downgrade to 6.3 (Android Auto 6.3.611314) but that still produces the same error.
Ive installed magisk to run AA AIO toolbox, but that crashes once you click the I understand button (it gets SU) .
Is there anything im missing? Where can I see the error log?
If I go back to stock AA starts working again, but I lose lineage which would suck.
Hello! I would like to know if anyone was able to get Android Auto to work correctly. I've tried to use an EVA-L19 with EMUI 5.0.3 and Android 7.0 (latest available update) with the latest Android Auto APK installed, but it behaves strange (black screen on the car's Head Unit, phone not responding, etc.). I am interested to know if there is a way to make it work or if someone managed to get it working. I am sorry if there is already an answer for my question here on the forum, but I couldn't find it. Thank you!
