Hi, I am new here. Sorry if I am posting here at wrong place. I recently network unlocked Samsung S10 5G G977U which was locked to ATT. But the ATT bloatware and apps still remain. Where can i find G977U unbloated firmware. Please help to find firmware and flash the phone. Also unable to find OEM option in the phone.

For this particular samsung s10 5g G977U model, there is no frimware available anywhere to chnage CSC. Do you know where can i find firmware or any other way to avoid bloatware?

If you're on att you can change it to xaa csc with Sam fw toolkit. I know because I've done it. Look up on Google SamFW toolkit and it will tell you how to change csc without switching firmware and xaa csc will unbloat it.

I saw the unlocked firmware floating around the forums that require Odin to flash. I currently have Verizon and was wondering if flashing the firmware would trip knox and remove features such as Samsung Pay and Secure folder.

That is awesome to know we have the option. And I assume if you ever go back to flashing the carrier firmware it also wouldn't trip Knox?

I think the benefit would be if the carrier doesn't release timely updated but Samsung releases it for the unlocked device. Or to get rid of bloatware preinstalled by carriers.

Correct. You must use a custom odin version to flash the unlocked version and the regular/latest odin to flash the carrier version.
And no it will not trip knox period.

A bloatfree stock Samsung rom. So no tmob/att/Verizon apps, unlimited hotspot, a few other things too but depending on the carrier you might not have voLTE , Wi-Fi calling, RCS, 4x4 mini, 256qam.
I stuck with the stock carrier rom because everything just works.
Updates are usually quicker with a carrier rom, but lately Samsung is releasing unlocked updates within a week after carrier
I've been using the unlocked firmware for a few days and it's been great. The bloatware took up at least a few gigs of space and I got those back with the unlocked. I also feel my battery life is better but could just be a placebo effect. Regardless I'm glad I did it.
I may flash it. Although, I do have Xfinity Mobile, and I was shocked that nothing Comcast came on the device.
I've been using the unlocked firmware since I've got the phone and it's been fine.

How would I get that info for you? Under About Phone?
Edit: I checked under about phone->carrier softver: CCT.
If you flash xfinity to unlocked, do you get all bands working for carriers like tmobile?

Hello,
I have flashed unlocked firmware to network unlocked T-Mobile Note 8s without tripping Knox yet.
I have also flashed specific CSCs to T-Mobile Note 8s without issue.
In each instance I used the Prince Comsy version of Odin.
So if i don't care about Samsung pay do I care of Knox is tripped? I just want AOSP on this stupid note 88
As long as your phone is unlocked meaning it takes any sim card then flashing say BTU firmware which is Samsung own international unlocked version then it will be fine and Knox will not be triggered as it's stock firmware. But big thing make sure your phone is unlocked and not carrier branded locked to a specific network because I understand it will brick your device. Always allow oem unlocking in developer options.

www.sammobile.com goto firmware section and look for your model (eg. SM-G97*U1).
www.updato.com search for your model.
Download samfirm.exe or the Frija app and odin and use either samfirm.exe or frija to download your firmware. Then use odin to install firmware.
This is a Note 8 forum so look at the s10 forum for a guide to go from SM-G97*U to SM-G97*U1 .
My dilemma. I purchased a S10+ unlocked from Samsung.com and I use it on the Sprint network. I am having data/cell problems like a lot of others are having. Samsung refuses to fix or replace the phone saying it will be fixed with an update. Sprint says they will replace my phone but it would be the Sprint version. If i do the replacement with Sprint can I later flash the U1 making it act like the unlocked version? No carrier bloat?

Service issues with T Mobile and Sprint are known. Neither have been addressed since release. As for your question, yes, it's possible to convert a U SPR to U1 XAA (and vice versa). You will lose data following the use of non Home CSCs in Odin.
You can technically preserve all data, but it's strongly recommended to follow the steps as they're written.
E: firmware is here https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s10/how-to/s10e-g973u-g973u1-firmware-links-t3905852
You can also use Samfirm and other places.

Nope. You're only changing the firmware on the phone, you're not unlocking anything.
Hello everybody I have question about friends mobile. He bought it in USA from T-Mobile but now live in Europe. I think that there are 2 ways how to solve SIM lock right? First one: use some reliable but cheap service for unlocking by code. Second one: flash Android to global version? Can you tell me if it possible to flash N960U to some no SIM blocking Android? I flash some years ago some Samsung phones with ODIN, dont know if this can be used on phone sold in US.
I tried this https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-9/how-to/n960u-tmb-stock-odin-files-firmware-t3833205 but it keep asks me for unlock network code
Thank you for any advices...

maybe try n960u1 firmware instead of the regular U. use patched odin 3.13.1b to flash it.( and flash all 4 files not just the AP.md5....)
also I belive that it might be region locked. usualy to lift that a 5 min call should have been made on US soil with proper carrier sim. if he never used it on us soil then that might have been the issue.
jd14771 said:
A N960U1 rom might work. use the CCT csc for it to be completely carrier less. thats the "Unknown" variant as opposed to XAA which is USA unlocked.

they have the same files but depending on the csc it will load different configs for each. using CCT is the unknown variant so it should ask the sim card what region its in and hopefully sim unlock it.

the firmware file you dl is all the same regardless.
now on the device if you can manualy set the proper CSC code then yes that should work as you mentioned. but if nothing is modified, then system will just pick the appropriate or last csc that was set in root/efs/imei/mps code.dat
there is an other thread in the forums that has a procedure to force csc code for non rooted devices. it involves adb and flashing combo firmware if I'm not mistaken.

that very well may be the case. but at least before calling it quits might as well explore all available avenues.
I have an unlocked S10 (SM-G973U1), and have flashed it with monthly Android security updates from sammobile.com several times. Since I have an unlocked S10 and want to keep it unlocked, I use the firmware with the XAA country code. I would like to ask whether the firmware for the unlocked S10 that has the country code "VZW" would be the Verizon firmware that would also convert the CSC on my phone from XAA to VZW? It looks like that, but since I use Verizon, I'm curious about it.
Thanks.
Yes, if you flash Verizon firmware on the U1 model phone you will get everything Verizon. Even the bloatware.
With other S series devices there was a U and U1 model and only the U model supported AT&T WiFi calling.
Do we know yet if the same will be true of the S20 FE?
(As explained in other threads, with other S series devices it was the same hardware just different firmware and you can flash the phone to switch from one to the other)
I have the unlocked model from Best Buy and I'm on At&t. I don't see any option for wifi calling.
The Wi-Fi Calling app is installed on the phone, you can see the app in the list of system apps. I tried accessing it using Nova Activities & making a widget shortcut on the home screen but when I click on the icon it says permission denied. So it's there but Samsung / AT&T aren't letting us use it. I found this document, (I can't post the link since i'm a new user) google "service capabilities unlocked device att", which shows that previous unlocked Samsung Variants did not have Wi-fi calling on AT&T. Maybe there is a way to bypass the permission denied or access it? It's a deal breaker for me and I'll be returning the phone if it doesn't support Wi-Fi calling. I just signed up for a year of AT&T prepaid.
I was able to convert my Unlocked Model Firmware to the AT&T Firmware and now Wi-Fi Calling is enabled. It came with some other AT&T apps (Bloatware) but I don't mind since Wi-Fi Calling is a major plus for me. It's essentially an AT&T Branded Phone now except it has all the bands that the Unlocked version has.

Sure, First make sure you have the Samsung USB Drivers installed. You can find it on the support page of the S20 FE. I Downloaded Frija 1.4.2 in order to get the latest Firmware. Model "SM-G781U", CSC "TMB" for the U.S Version. As I understand the Carrier versions are all the same and will load up the correct one based on the sim card you have in your device. I downloaded Odin 3.14.4. Unzipped and placed the correct files into Odin, I did the non Home CSC file and left USERDATA blank because Samsung switches the version based on your sim card. Put your phone in Download mode. I got an error the first time but switched to a different USB and it flashed it to the AT&T version.
Thank you!

I've done this process numerous times (with success) but with this S20 FE from TMO the XAA firmware does not prompt me to reboot on SIM change (carrier change). I've found that this process works flawlessly to change the CSC:
Go to "Settings" then "About phone". Write down your IMEI Number. Open dialer and enter *#272*IMEInumber# (In the thread replace IMEInumber with your actual IMEI Number). Press dial, you should see a screen with the list of available CSC codes for your device. Select the CSC that you want and tap the Install option.
In my case, this won't wipe the data on the phone, your experience may vary.
Another note: if you're using the "U" firmware, a CSC change will prompt the installation of carrier bloatware upon reboot. If the "U1" version of the firmware is used, the carrier changes but without the added bloatware.

where did you download the roms from is it the same model as the regular s20 unlocked ones or ?
Can someone confirm the *#272*IMEInumber# does, indeed, work on the unlocked S20 FE sold in US? What CSCs are available? Can you really switch between them without losing data? Do any of the available CSCs have eSIM enabled? What about native call recording? Which ones?

No, use Frija 1.4.2. It has the lastest Firmware for the S20 FE.
I'm using an AT&T MVNO and I am able to get wifi calling. I popped my sim in during the setup process and it rebooted a few times. No bloatware or anything. I think as long as it's the first sim in the phone, it should do the trick.

I confirm what posted by Donatelloj. Starting from SM-G781U1, I installed firmware for SM-G781U (CSC TMB) with no USERDATA and Wi-Fi calling is working now! I had an issue with the fingerprint sensor not working but after 2 reboots everything looks fine. Now having troubles syncing Gallery with OneDrive but I believe this is a different story.
I've just installed unbranded Android 11 (G781U1UES1CUA2) on US unlocked SM-G781U1 and ATT Wi-Fi calling is working. No need for branded firmware anymore.
