With me it happened too.
After flash Magisk 18.1 by TWRP, I installed the Magisk Manager manually, then he asked, want to install the Magisk? ... I continued and after restart the installation was successful.
Good luck.
Hi,
My phone updated to LineageOS 16.0 and, when it restarted, I noticed that it wasn't rooted as before and Magisk wasn't installed as it had been.
Using Magisk Manager 7.0.0, I was informed a new version of Magisk (18.1) was available and it was downloaded. However, after installing in recovery mode, it was stuck on the boot screen and the phone didn't reboot.
After a process of elimination using TWRP and wiping/installing LineageOS 16.0, GApps, FrancoKernel and Magisk, it is definitely Magisk that is causing the problem.
Any advice as to how I can get Magisk to start working again would be much appreciated.

LineageOS16.0 is based on Android 9
After a factory reset, everything seems to be fine.
Please lock the thread.
I have the same problem. Can you describe more detailed what you have done? A factory reset in twrp and then flashing Magisk again?

Hi,
I have the same problem as you describe on my Samsung S5 duos. Till LineageOS 15.1 everything worked fine with Magisk, but after the update there is no chance getting Magisk-Root running again. Using Magisk Manager 7.0.0, and the new Magisk 18.1

I've seen people using beta magisk getting stuck if not use the custom install and keep it at last working version till top updates the app

Hello guys,

Magisk Manager says "Magisk not installed" and root is also not working.
Already tried Format data and 20.3...

I'm on Xiaomi eu 12.1.2 and you have to use Magisk Canary as stable builds don't work on android 11 afaik
I'm trying to install Magisk 24.3 on my Redmi Note 10S to hide magisk from Apex Legends, but every time I try direct install update from the magisk app, the phone reboots to magisk 23.0 again, everytime (Although I made sure the install logs show that 24.3 installs correctly). It's stuck on 23.0 and I tried reinstalling magisk several times but it doesn't fix it. I'm running on a custom ROM (LiteE) with Genom kernel (4.14.263 rosemary). How do I fix it and install 24?
install it via twrp
