Had a terrible experience with my Moment. My Epic wasn't updated for crap. My Evo had Froyo on it for awhile, and is getting Gingerbread officially soon. Plus, dev community is amazing for the Evo.

Hi,
I recommend the following Smartphones, I have personally used all of them:
- Apple iPhone 4
- Blackberry Bold 9700
- Samsung Galaxy S
+1 on the galaxy. Support and updates suck ass but thanks to xda and its wicked devs and great community the hardware shines! Almost impossible (almost) to brick. Can't wait for galaxy s2.

Oh yeah baby!
Sadly.... No support for Galaxy Note, Desire HD, Galaxy SII or Sensation at the moment. Sad panda..

Android Tablets: Acer Iconia, Asus Eee Pad Transformer, Dell Streak 7, LG Optimus Pad, Motorola Xoom, Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 and 10.1, Sony Tablet S, Toshiba Thrive

Im surprised it doesn't support Galaxy SII Or the note as those are the most powerful small devices out and most popular
Why no support HTC Amaze?
(or the Sensation)
At least the Galaxy Tab 10.1 and the, Rezound are supported....my Dad may be waiting a little longer for his Rezound....

Why doesn't it support the newer more powerful phones? Every day I regret buying the sensation more and more.
It'll come! I don't know why they won't support the POPULAR phones, but they'll have to support them sooner or later, or else... something bad will happen..(?)
Hey bazooka! Still have that desire?

Hi guys, I'm considering to replace my old trusted HTC desire with an iPhone 4s. Will I miss my android? Anyone make a similar jump?
Sent from my HTC Desire using xda premium
The simplest answer is, yes.
I don't know, but I can guarantee Android won't miss you.
How so? Well maybe I will miss the widget feature but other than that I think iPhone kinda do a pretty good job IMHO.

No need to flame guys, it's just a simple question.
Now to the OP, try IOS put, if you like it, keep it. If not, you care slate trade the 4S for an android device. Once it comes down to it, it's all preference.

I went from being an iPhone user (iPhone3GS then an iPhone4) to android and would never go back. There isn't much you can do on an iPhone in was of customization without jailbreaking, and a jailbroke ios4.0 was very unstable for me with horrible battery life. Not to sure about a jailbroke ios5 since I bailed before it was released, although my wife now has the iPhone4 with ios5 (stock) and it is fast, so I'm sure the 4s would be snappy as ever with the improved processor. I like optons, so for me android is a better experience.

I don't understand why anyone would go from Android to iOS, and I'll leave it at that.

It depends on how much money you spent on apps from the Android market.

You will by default miss something about android. That's just natural. Will that thing be enough to make you regret your purchase? Only you can answer that. Hell I miss some things about WebOS on my Touch pad. But will I go back? Nah B-)

i don't really get why you'd want to go the iphone route unless you're feeling a little retro today.
the main reason iphone users dont switch (from my observations) was the money spent on apps, but i've never heard of android users switching to an iphone unless it was an entry-level phone (ie: optimus one, galaxy gio)
edit:
if you're bored with your phone, you can try a different manufacturer like samsung, moto or maybe go stock with a gnex. it'll be a completely new experience.

Actually considering gnex too especially with ics. Samsung for me I dont like touchwiz even if I get one I will definitely install AOSP rom. In that case I will still feel like same old android. Thanks for the input.

The biggest thing for me that keeps me away from ios other than it being closed and no customization is the lack of a dedicated back button. I think its a huge thing to leave out and makes things like opening links in one app that brings up another very disorienting. I think its a huge flaw in the design of the OS. The one home button is incredibly inconvenient and clunky.

Not really, In two years of Android, I've spent a total of $5 on Android apps from the market, I'd miss Android if I left.

That's why I said 'it depends,' and followed it with a smiley. Some people would miss the money they spent in the market/app store. Others will only care about ideology or the OS.
i switched to iphone4 for about two weeks and oh hell no lol i couldnt get back to android fast enough, but i like the roms and just the hacking in general for android
My friend did that... switched from android and now whenever I flaunt my android the look on his face is hilarious...
Hello fellas,
I've been trying to look around, but couldn't find it. Is there any way to get a droid to dual run ios and android (choosing from the boot screen when you turn on your phone)? I love running android, but the games on the ios I love.

Just buy a iPod Touch ?
I wish I could run android in my useless IPhone 2G, but its not available too. IOS in Moto Milestone would be a double mess, bad OS and bad phone. By the way I still have my Milestone operational with CM. It is doing pretty well considering hyow old and used it is.
Ability to dual boot Android and iOS would be close to a miracle for any device... But if it happened, it would be awesome. Keep me in the loop, I've dreamt about this also....

It's actually quite easy. It runs very slow, but boots nonetheless.
The big question here may be "why would you want to install Win OS to your Android device?" I understand it was just mainly a theoretical question, but since Android is a Linux derivative - I could imagine formatting your device and installing it, but as icedventimocha said:

Ubuntu at this rate is a kinda slow but alas its still the beginning of the possibilities.

For development or theming I guess. I can't think of any other reason but linux is a lot better for that and not as heavy so it's faster.

Freaking awesome. I liked the dna when I looked at it, but no removable battery and no sdcard was the deal breaker. And after all the update delays and just the overall poor life of the thunderbolt made me go with a non HTC device. They lost me as a customer for sure. But the spen and multi Window are just sick.
