no such thing as best rom for battery life. battery life is determined by your use, your setup, your choice of apps inatalled, and your signal quality.
Pure Nexus for smoothness and updates. Battery life can be great on Pure Nexus depending on usage. I'm getting 6-7 hrs SOT with PN and ElementalX.

i need to which would be the best rom for battery life and performance for xiaomi mi 5 . I tried using lineage os but didnt have a great time with it. Yesterday i changed it to viper os and its super snappy and around 6 hours battery life with light usage. I wanted to know is there a better rom than this before making viper my daily driver.

At now I use paranoid android, oreo for now is instabily for me. with her I got 3/4 of sot!

PixelRom is exact copy of pixel 4 rom with almost all features of pixel 4 and i heard that latest version is excellent in terms of performance, stability and battery performance.

I've read the how-to root guide and find that ElementalX and Kirisakura are quite good for my devices. But I don't know which one to choose to give the best performance, battery life and stability. Any suggestion?
Try both for a couple of days and see which work best for your usage. I wouldn't say there's a best anything really, just multiple choices.
I tried both of the above kernals but got better battery life using the stock kernal, which is strange
