I've been trying to root my N960F using magisk through TWRP after installing a new rom (pixel experience) but TWRP keeps showing me the errors Unable to mount '/system' (invalid argument) and Unable to mount '/vendor' (invalid argument). It shows the same thing while installing roms but it doesn't keep them from working. After googling a bit I've found it seems to be a common issue but after trying out all the fixes nothing works.
The fixes I've tried so far:
-repairing system and vendor through advanced wipe in TWRP
-changing file system for system and vendor through advanced wipe in TWRP
-reinstalling the stock rom
-unmounting through adb
-reinstalling TWRP
-using Mount system partition is read-only and then with it off
-formatted like a million times
-changing password settings inside android
-and probably more but cant remember cus ive been trying for like 5 hours
Would be extremely grateful for any help

Cannot wipe or write any data using twrp 3.0.2-0. Keep getting errors 'unable to mount storage' errors.
Can't install .zips either
Phone boots up fine. But can't add google account or can't open Playstore and some other apps. Can't flash any other rom.

Try using the newest version of TWRP (TWRP 3.1.1-1)
using fastboot installed latest version. but then can't boot in recovery.

Hi guys, who experience with this problem?
I'm using mi-globe rom with magisk modules installed. The modules was viper 2.7.1.0 and youtube vanced.
I also tried using Eu rom, but the result was also the same.
error storytelling:
-while using the phone
-sudden google apps and framework crashes
-I do reboot due to its numerous app crashes
-It gives me bootloop
-I checked twrp and the message appears.
-tried to get the files inside the device by mounting it to pc, but it shows there's no memory. I also do this in
twrp install>select storage>internal storage (0MB).
The only fix was wiping the whole partition that erases all data. goodbye files : (
what could be the source of the problem?
(Edit: if it matters, I have an Exynos Note 9, rooted)

I would upgrade to a better/newer recovery if it exists and if someone could point me in the right direction.

I updated to the latest TWRP and get the same errors.
Should I start a new thread with those keywords in the subject line?
"Could not mount /data and unable to find crypto footer."
"Failed to mount '/data' (Invalid argument)"
"Unable to recreate /data/media folder."
"Unable to mount storage"
"Backup failed. Cleaning Backup Folder."
(I should note that there are files/folders on my microSD card that sure *look* like a TWRP backup... but I'm afraid to try a restore lest I brick my phone...)
Hello, i am having problems with my Zuk Z2 Pro, currently the only thing installed on it is TWRP 3.5_9-0, I want to update the system to any newer android because mooke was not receiving security updates, I tried to install Aosp Extended 7.3 and Arrow 10, but occurs Failed to mount '/ vendor' (Invalid argument) and Updater process ended with ERROR: 7.
I noticed that the prompt looks like this:
Patching system image unconditionally...
Patching vendor image unconditionally...
E2001: Failed to update vendor image
I managed to install 20180809_z2_row, but it doesn't seem to make a difference, how can I solve this vendor problem?

Solved doing this.
I have the same problem and the option above does not work because it is impossible to install anything on the vendor partition , i can.t mount vendor partition . you need a terminal in twrp for this , it is not even possible to wipe this partition or repair it
So my problem was I can't flash any zip file, I already wiped everything, data, meta, but still I cant flash anything
The error was:
Failed to unmount '/system_root' (Device or Resource busy)
When flashing a zip
And when I try to boot out of recovery, I goes into fastboot mode

UPDATE: I flashed magisk and for some reason it successfully unmounted system but still can't boot into os, Its just infinite reboot and still have the same assert error thingy
Still can't flash any roms
