Google Home Application issue with main Gmail account - Google Home

(Quick note- apologies in advance for any confusion- I am looking for help with the "Home" application. Not the speaker)
I have been experiencing an issue for almost 2 years now with the Home application. I have two Nest Thermostats (2020 models) that would not connect at all to the Home app using my main Gmail account.
I raised tickets with Google support and received many calls and communications in an attempt to correct the issue. If I had to provide an estimate, probably over 7 hrs of total call time with support is a fair estimate. Attempts to correct my issue include various reboots, resets, factory resets, Wi-fi setting tweaks/changes and attempts connecting with different devices include Pixel 3XL, Samsung S7, iPad 7 Gen and 8th Gen. None of which worked.
In one of my experiments to connect my thermostats I created a "Test" home profile associated with my main gmail account, my experiment did not work and created a new issue because I cannot delete that Test account now.
During one call to delete Test home profile. Google support suggested I create a Home profile using a secondary Gmail account, miraculously I was able to connect and control my two nest thermostats via the Home app. However my issue now is my entire smart home profile (lights, speakers, routines, etc) are associated with my main account.
I'm looking for a way to correct this and have my smart home profile associated with my main Gmail account. Is there any way to accomplish this? Im thinking this is a Google server side issue that I would need to raise a support ticket for because I can't do this on my end.
I recently upgraded to a P7Pro – and would like clean up/Reset Main account to control all smart functions including thermostats in my main profile.
TLDR - looking for a way to reset my Home app profile from Google server side to correct long existing issues with Home app. Currently have my thermostats associated with secondary account because they wouldn't connect to main account. As well as delete a test profile on main account I cannot remove at all.
Thanks in advance for your feedback

[Q] Problem with Manual Refresh on Calendar Sync on Froyo

A temporary solution will be presented at the end of this post.
PDA: I9000 XXJPO
PHONE: I9000 XXJPP
CSC: I9000 OXAJPO
I have two seemingly identical Factory unlocked UK-bought SIM-free models, both on official Froyo through Kies, flashed with Speedmod 341 Kernel with No-RTF Advanced lagfix applied through Kernel's in-build Sztupy's Universal Fix. Both rooted through ChainFire's tool.
If Automatic Syncing is NOT activated (saves battery and helps control traffic), then after updating the Calendar events on Samsung these updates DO NOT appear on web Google Calendar. If Automatic Syncing is ON - ALL IS FINE ON BOTH PHONES.
This needs further clarification, as two phones behave differently.
Problem No. 1: When Calendar is open and events edited WHEN BOTTOM LEFT SENSOR BUTTON PRESSED:
A. First phone gets 6 choices to choose from (Search, Create, Go to, Today, Delete, Settings).
B. Second phone gets 7 choices (Search, Create, Go to, Today, Delete, and MORE, which when pressed OPENS Choices: Settings and REFRESH).
FIRST REQUEST: Help on how to get REFRESH button among the choices on the First phone would be greatly appreciated.
Problem No. 2: When REFRESH button is pressed, nothing happens (it behaves as if something does happen, but it does not), i.e. the CALENDAR DOES NOT SYNC. Same thing happens with Calendar Widget - when Sync symbol is pressed it does not actually Sync. When similar refresh button is pressed for E-mails, they DO sync. If you follow the path of Settings -> Accounts and sync -> Choose your account from Manage Accounts -> Sync Calendar, the CALENDAR DOES SYNC.
SECOND REQUEST: Help on how to force Sync from the Calendar REFRESH button in the same manner as the "Sync Calendar" from the path above does.
On each of the phones I have more than one GMail account Synced. The one that has "Refresh" opiton has the GMail account listed at the top of the list, the one that does not - lists the Gmail account with the calendar as second in the list (not sure if that makes a difference for the , have not tested it). Also, the calendars from the two accounts on different phones are Shared (but that works ok after a bit of finetuning and tweaking).
Ideas: Clearly, the REFRESH button is not performing the same as "Sync Calendar", so the first idea was to make it do just that. However, I am not clever enough to do that (as well as not clever enough to figure out how to make the REFRESH button appear on the other phone). My first idea was to create some kind of a macro and assign it to the button. I found that "Tasker" may be able to create a macro-type sequence, however, since it is a paid app, it does not even appear on my Market choices. And even if it did, I would not have a clue as to how to assign it to that specific particular REFRESH button. Or, for that matter, how to get the REFESH button appear on the 1st phone. (See request 1).
WORKAROUND:
The only solution I have found so far is beta free app on Market called Synker. It appears as a Widget on Home Screen and allows to force sync all apps that need syncing. And it automatically picks up some of the common android apps and allows you to configure what you want syncing (e.g. contacts, e-mail, calendar etc.). That has good and not so good side effect due to one and the same reason: it syncs everything thet you've pre-set in a configuration. So, when you are checking your e-mails and updating calendar, you press Synker button before you start (to get them all updated to your phone), respond to e-mails, edit appointments etc, and press Synker button after, to get those e-mails sent from your phone and get the Calendar updated on the web. That is excellent. However, if you just looked at your Calendar to make a couple of changes, you do not want Synker to go through all of your 5 e-mail accounts, Facebook and Calendar to do the job.
Yes, it is possible to configure Synker to just update Calendar entries (which, really, should be done through Calendar's native Refresh button), but then you are deprived of the excellent functionality of this app to update all at once. And, for some reason, it is not possible to put two same Widgets with different settings, as practice shows. So, for now, for me it's the less efficient syncing of everything through Synker on any update, but, hopefully, with a little help from you, the Calendar's REFRESH button can be 1. forced to appear and 2. be fixed!
As the developer of Synker, I just wanted to note… Synker should allow for multiple widgets with different accounts/setting. I double checked this on an EVO and a Galaxy Tab after reading your post… If this isn’t working for you send me an email so we can look into it…
Thank you for the reply (and for the app!) : just re-checked, it DOES work! It is a good workaround and a great app in its own merit, which I would use for general syncing even if the problem described was fixed.

[Q] Moto Assist working with multiple calendars?

Since last update, Assist lets you choose more than one calendar to trigger meeting mode. In my phone, though, it only works for the main calendar.
I've already checked the requeriments for an event to trigger meeting:
is from a calendar visible on device
is from a calendar that you are the owner
has been accepted
is not deleted
is not cancelled
is not all day (all day event box checked) or duration < 24
Meetings where you’re marked as “Available” will not trigger meeting mode
(from https://motorola-global-portal.cust...swer_detail/a_id/94933/p/30,6720,8696#meeting)
My events respect all points in that list.
The only thing that bugged is the "is from a calendar that you are the owner" requirement. I realised all calendars I create are not "as mine" as the main calendar is... Even though I created it through google.com/calendar, in the settings all calendars (except the main one) have a "cancel subscription" option, like it isn't really mine. But that's so weird...
Anyone having the same problem?

Hi, I have the same problem here, I also noticed in my calender that the 'not default' ones I can also 'unsubscribe' to. Even when I create a new one, I can unsubscribe. So I'm thinking that is indeed the problem. Question is, how do we solve it. I've been searching the internet for a solution to make myself owner of the calender, whithout results. Anyone of you who knows how we can do this?
I'm having the same problem. I left a comment on the Play Store to see if that might elevate the issue. It's frustrating that it's been this way for almost a month now.
I'm having the same issue as well.. I opened a thread in the Motorola forums as well but still no resolution ...
https://forums.motorola.com/posts/386638fc4c
I called Motorola support and they suggested a hard reset (not sure what they think that will solve but whatever I tried it anyway because the dude insisted that might fix it...). Surprise, hard reset did nothing. Then the guy said the ONLY other solution he had was to do a factory reset... ughhh.
Ok. Fine.
Backed up all my stuff, factory reset. annnndddddd....
Nothing. Assist still doesn't trigger a meeting from any of my other calendars. I'm gonna give Moto a call again but I suspect they will be no help. I think we're probably gonna have to live without it until they actually listen and realize the feature is broken and update with a fix.
Has anybody else had any luck getting this to work with multiple calendars?
I did some troubleshooting tonight since I was also having the problem reported here. Turns out, I can only trigger Assist using events in the first calendar in each account. My accounts have multiple calendars (for different projects at work), but any events on those additional calendars are ignored regardless of the fact that I checked them off in the Assist settings for which calendars to use. For me, the solution was to put events that require silence into the first calendar of the account. Assist seems to treat that as the primary calendar; other calendars are seen as if they're not owned by the account.
Sent from my XT1053 using XDA Free mobile app
The latest version of Assist (2.3.15) seems to have solved this issue. Secondary calendars are working again for me now.

Help with Google Home App

I'm stuck with 24 corrupted home structures that I can't delete. Google knows it's a bug but has offered no timeline on a fix. Right now there are no home automation accounts connected to my account or the Google home app. Previously the only home automation app I had installed was the kasa app for a smart plug. But I have since disconnected it from my account and removed the device from the home app. When I look on my kids phones in the home app, I do not see any home automation connected to their account. Neither of their accounts have the option to remove the extra empty home structures which cannot be deleted from my account. Also, my backup email account, which I used to try and fix this whole issue, does not show the undeletable home structures. I completely deleted all information from my Google home app and my kids Google home apps before I factory reset all the devices and set everything back up. When I set everything back up, I started with only my account. And at that time the undeletable home structures were already there, before I linked my kids accounts. So, unlinking them (from voice match) does not help to remove the undeletable home structures.
Right before I noticed the undeletable home structures, the main things that I can think of are:
I removed myself as a home member (there where no home members in the home structure).
I deleted all devices and home structures.
I factory reset the device (Google home speaker).
I cleared all data for home app, Google app, Google play services, Google play store, and Google services framework. I disabled all of those apps that I could and reinstalled the updated versions (there was no way to completely deactivate or uninstall Google play services on my phone).
For my online information, I went into my Google account and deleted every single thing that I could, from my timeline history to all of my web activity, etc... I also went in to connected apps, and deleted the item that said Google home as well as the item that said Google Assistant connected device. Now that everything is set up again, in connected apps, there is an item for Google Assistant connected device, but there is no item for Google home.
I removed my Google account from my phone and re-added it.
I factory reset my wireless router.
Finally, I also went into my Google drive and deleted my backup for my phone before I factory reset it.
I really believe that the issue has to be a bug with the home app and refreshing the data on the server. Perhaps it has something to do with the fact that I removed all home members, and then deleted the devices & Home structures, as well as factory reset the devices.
Also, I really wonder if it has something to do with different versions of the home app. For example when I was troubleshooting, I tried logging in on a different device. On my old phone, I was logged in with an older version of the home app and an older Android system (Android 5 lollipop). However, even if I log back in on that device, there is no option to see the undeletable home structures. So I have no way to delete them even from an old version of the app. Also, when I first linked my kids accounts, it was on their tablets, which was using the older version of the home app, as well as an older Android system (Android 5 lollipop). Now they are using the newer version of the Google home app on their phones which have Android 7. And I'm using the newest version of the Google home app on Android 9 pie on my pixel 2 XL.
I'd really like to get this figured it out before I continue to add my other devices to the Google home app. Any help/feedback would be appreciated!
If nothing else, why can't they just have an option to manually delete any home structures from within the Google home app? There are separate areas for devices, rooms, and groups (within a home structure). Why can't they add a different area that lists all of the homes you are a member of, with the option to remove yourself and delete the home structure? Right now my account says that I am a home member of 25 different home structures. But I'm actually only a home member of one home structure. When I click on one of the empty home structures, it just sends me back to the one working structure that I have. So I have absolutely no way to delete the empty home structures. Even adding an option to completely delete all Google home app data from the servers would be a great option, that many people would appreciate.
Here is Google's official response so far:
"Our Engineering Team has informed that they don't have the option to wipe the account and it's not recommended. For now our workaround for this fix is using an alternate account."
Here is my reply back:
At this thread (https://support.google.com/googlehome/thread/624656?hl=en) there were others with the same issue and the problem was fixed by someone at support fixing their broken Google Home data in the cloud/server/back-end. They must have that option. Why could they fix it for others but not for me?
Why would it not be recommended? It would just be like starting over for the Google Home data. In fact, why isn't that an option yet, to be able to easily delete/reset all Google Home data? There are options to delete everything else account related (web activity, timeline, etc...). I think we should be able to delete/reset our Google Home data too.
How does using a different account help? I want to be able to access my own information and services.
Will there still be a definite fix for my issue? When will that fix happen?
Sorry for my absence in posting. My problem has actually been fixed since March 13th, but not before some work on my end. I actually searched around and emailed the Google Cast/Google Home Developers and got a reply from one very helpful Developer. We exchanged emails, I provided lots of details, and he was able to look into my account and eventually fix the issue. It took a couple weeks but eventually the broken home structures were gone. I still don't know what caused it or how they fixed it. I asked about other people with the same issue, and he replied that they were working on a fix for everybody but it could take a while. Hopefully now the issue is fixed. I don't want to give out his email because he was nice enough to help me and I don't want tons of people trying to contact him. So please don't ask. But have hope that if your issue isn't solved yet, there really is a team working on issues and there really should be a fix at some point.

Samsung Pie Contacts Change

Hello - dual SIM Note 8 user here.
I've recently updated my device from Oreo to Pie and I seem to have lost a feature within contacts and wanted to check whether it was removed from the app or perhaps I'm just not getting my head around the correct way of now replicating what I previously had.
I have a dual SIM and use two separate Google accounts to separate contacts between the Sims. Furthermore one of my Google accounts has hundreds of contacts which I have further segregated using groups (such as starred and others).
Previously in Oreo, I had quite granular control within the contacts app as to which particular contacts I wanted to see and in my particular use case, I had selected to show all contacts from one account and in addition only those contacts starred in another account. This was a one time activity which left my phone book in the state I wanted.
However in Pie, it appears I can now only select one particular contact account at a time or all contact accounts (not multiple accounts in between 1 and all). This is frustrating as I have some mail accounts that I do not wish to display contacts for. Additionally it seems I can only view one sub group at a time, so while I can display only starred contacts, it means I can't show contacts from the other account at the same time and instead have to constantly switch between different 'filters' instead.
Am I missing something or has this filtering ability of the contacts app now been severely crippled. Assuming it has, is there anyway to use the old contacts app or should I just look for a 3rd party app to do this now.
Thanks for reading!
Hello! I think there's an option to see the groups in the menu on the left.
Though, the granular option is gone yes. Sadly.

Outlook Exchange connectivity and moving contacts

I have a Pixel 5 that I've been using Outlook on because I hate the gmail client, which has been working fine until now, when I'm trying to add a new Exchange account. I'm having two issues that may be somewhat related or not. As part of moving to the new server, I had to remove my old account. Before doing so, I moved all of my contacts from that account to the device. When I selected them all and then selected 'Move to another account', I was given the choice of moving to the device or to google. As I DO NOT want want my contacts in google, I moved them to my device. I then removed my old account, and proceeded to try to set up Outlook for my new account, which I end up getting 'The connection to your mail server times out. Please check your mail settings.'. The settings are correct, and other mail apps (gmail, nine, etc) work fine. Only Outlook refuses. About the only thing I've been able to find is Microsoft claiming it's because TLS 1.0 and/or 1.1 are enabled or it's a certificate issue. Well, it's not. The certificate is proper and trusted, and only TLS 1.2 is enabled on the server, 1.0 & 1.1 are disabled. Microsoft 'testconnectivity' site confirms that all is proper and functioning, including activesync.
I more or less gave up on Outlook for now, although if someone knows something I haven't found that'll make it work, that would be appreciated, however, at least for now, I decided to give Nine a shot, which may be a viable option. But that's where my other issue comes in. When I moved all of my contacts from my old account to my device, I was given the option of moving to my device or to my gmail account. Now, with my contacts on my device, when I select them all and try to move them, the only option is the gmail account. The 'Contacts' from the Nine app show up in the list of accounts when I go to select what account I want 'Contacts' to look in, and when I move a contact into my Exchange contacts, it shows up on my phone, and if I try to move the contact synced from Exchange via Nine, it give me the device and gmail options, but the phone refuses to give me an option to move my contacts that are on the phone anywhere other than gmail. Does anyone have any ideas why?
Thanks
Just to add - I dug out my old HTC phone and charged it up to do some further testing... using it's 'Exchange Activesync for HTC Sense' (which, in my opinion, is probably the best, most straightforward e-mail client I've ever used on an android phone), it works PERFECTLY. No stupidness, syncs things as expected, contacts and all. I set my account up on an older ipad that doesn't run the latest ios and thus won't run outlook, but with the native app, works perfectly. But my Pixel doesn't seem to know what the heck it wants to do. It seems like everything other than 'Outlook for Android' and my pixel knows what it should be doing and just does it, but my pixel is just out there running circles in the cornfield..... I also saw some bit where I could select WHICH contact lists to sync where there were more than one in the account, but I haven't been able to find that again, and have moved all 'contacts' folders out into a PST so that it's not trying to sync all of the different contacts folders when it does decide to sync something.
