Are there only left-hand drive models? [左ハンドルの仕様しかないのか?] - MTCB Android Head Units General

Mod edit - translated by https://translate.google.com/
I am a beginner. I would like to ask about an unresolved issue with a right-hand drive android head unit. The purchased head unit comes with a CANBUS module specific to the vehicle type, and the air conditioner operation panel can be operated from the display and switch panel, but the DUAL (SYNC) function is turned off and the right side (touch panel, temperature on the switch panel) If you operate , DUAL will be turned ON arbitrarily, and if you turn DUAL off and operate the temperature on the left side (both touch panel and switch panel), you can set both temperatures. This appears to be left hand drive. As a function, is it possible to have different CANBUS programs for each left and right hand drive? The CANBUS module I am using is Lzheng.
We are still waiting for a response from the sales engineer.
***************************

I am sorry. Since the setting on the browser was set to Japanese translation, it became Japanese even though it was written in English.

Cannot change language in i9000 (may have been dishonestly sold a i9000)

Dear all,
Today I received my first Android 'phone, but sadly I suspect that I have been ripped off. I know that this is not a Android development related question, but I cannot think of anywhere else to ask, and searching the web yielded no results.
The company sold me one that has the language in Portuguese, which is a sham because I am the Netherlands. The company is in the Netherlands as well. ( studentenmobile.nl).
Is it possible to change the language, at least into English?
I cannot work the 'phone at present because I don't understand what is written, at all Nor do I know where to go. I think that English might be available on it because there were two instruction booklets: One in English and one in Portuguese, but this does not mean that any language other than Portuguese is available.
I would be grateful for any help.
PS. No, the company won't take it back, because I they did not state that the 'phone language was not in Dutch, nor that it was in Dutch. The same for English. Stupid of me not to ask.
On my phone change the language here:
On the main screen, press the menu button.
Press the 'gear' - this is settings in english.
Then you are in the settings list. The 10th line on my phone has a white square with a black A in it. It is called 'Locate and text'.
Tap that, and the topmost option is 'Select locale'. Tap that.
Now a list pof countries appears. It should have 'Nederlands' written there.
BUT I think the phone would have done that the moment it noticed a Dutch SIM card. Perhaps it doesn't with some pre paid cards.
If the phone does not offer 'Nederlands' you have indeed been cheated, and the company should arrange for an exchange or return of money.
Do not fall for the normal right of return, as they can hold on your money for 30 days, but insist on a quicker solution as this product is broken, as it does not conform to what a Dutch buyer expects.
A steady wave of relief has just passed through my head (although perceived as being centred in the chest).
I have changed the language. There is a pretty long list of languages there. Although I read Nederlands (NL) and Nederlands (Belgie), yet there was only French (FR) and French (CH), which is strange. I expected it to also have French (BE).
Anyway, thanks a million.
I did not have a SIM card in it, which is why it did not take the language settings from it.

[APP] Speechy (FREE Edition)

Speechy Professional is ALSO available in the Marketplace, see towards the end why you may wish to upgrade. Do note that Speechy/Speechy Pro have the EXACT same Features and ZERO Limitations as some have been going around trying to claim limitations exist (Note: Currently not valid as originally once planned or "announced" but was never released with limits, so we feel any word about limitations should be put to rest as officially it never existed and hope to clarify that as originally we did so to gain more exposure, which we successful obtained and apologize for anyone who bought in to it).
You may also hear our App is just "like" everyone else's or doesn't have "this" but this is a Translator meant to have 1-true idiot proof task, to allow you to speak and translate as accurate as possible (even if it may take a few moments). So go on, take the FREE download, doesn't cost anything but your time and read below while you're download. After using our App, you determine if our App is truly no different than the others. Hope this clarifies anyones concerns and confusion.
What is Speechy...?
A translator you can really talk to, literally. Say what you need and Speechy will translate and speak out loud what you said in English for others to know what you really want to say in a foreign language. Great tool even if you're just trying to learn the language to prepare for your trip.
So when you're at the Airport and no one speaks English and you don't know the native tongue, you can say "How do I get to Terminal B" and know someone who speaks one of the 15 pre-bundled languages can help you. Why hire a Translator when the best Translator is at your fingertips and you're in control!
How is this DIFFERENT?
1). Mic/Recording Input
Simple! Our voice input function that grabs the audio you speak either close or whichever distance you may be and takes the input from the phone Mic. When using your "Mic", we've designed our own Equalizer that is built-in that actually has various functions and decreases/increases pitch, balance, volume and other aspects to obtaining the audio you speak in which it also breaks it up in to a bunch of "chunks" and sending it via Internet (Wifi Connection or 3G Required) in multiple parts to then have it run through a Speech Server where it is analyzed in each segment of your Mono input (Never Stereo).
2). Cloud Speech Server
When your multiple chunks are each processed one-by-one for better understanding, they are first run under another synthesizer to turn everything flat (Bass, Treble, Pitch/Frequency, etc...) and another technique that let's us better understand what you say, even if you have an accent to the best we can and as each few moments are separated, it allows us to promptly guess what each word is being said and if quickly it fails a built-in/server-run spelling database (Query's originally from Bing!) and if it is still valid it will continue on to check to see if it can find the next best thing using the 2nd Dictionary aka "Phrases" which uses a form of AutoComplete for quicker search which is why you may notice sometimes a little bit of lag time/timely response as it is doing it's very best to try and be 100% accurate.
e.g. "This is a test" may normally be recognized by other Speech Services as "This is a pest". In this case the word "pest" could be valid as it is a US-English Dictionary word but we have one last pass-through that has most common American English phrases that currently only has around 2,000+ but as people report more what they've tried to say and hasn't worked we can add it to the 2nd dictionary for accuracy.
3). Translated Voice Download
Once everything is assumed to be as accurate as possible it will then pass the string through the Bing Translator API and in this case grab the audio from the Bing Translator service and pass it through the App as a "Stream" to download it temporarily (removes every translation or application closing/back button pressed) but only to prepare for output in Mono or Stereo (where available).
4). Translation Output
Once the file is available it immediately streams back out at a specific pitch, frequency, mono playback but made a synthesizer that barely modifies the output a little more to make it louder and easier to understand/sound better on almost any device but more important if Stereo headset/playback is available where most App's just set Mono to Stereo for output but we playback in mono and modify it just a tad and again prepare it if Stereo should occur (Balancing the L/R Channels) but most may not even hear the difference in a loud room but the very least more clear.

My assumption:
It only uses English as input language. Hence, no option to select input language. The list of languages is for output language.
Note: It would be superb if you include the output text too. It would be a great language learning companion then
nice app!
Do you mean output as English? If yes, the reason behind it is the input at this specific moment only allows English and writes what you said so you're aware of what will be translated.
At this moment however, Spanish input is being worked on, in which case English output will exist for that Profile but Spanish output won't.
Thank you,
Lance

First, thank you for your kind words.
The 3rd edition in the "Options" section actually has the ability to dictate / translate to text but we tried to stay away from it but too many have asked for it, so we do what people want and adding it, which if you don't want to go to options every time for text translation, you can enable "Auto Text Translate" plus other stuff. Big update.
Also, we have a "What'd I Say?" feature that stores what you're said, would you ever wish to use this?
Thanks,
Lance

That would indeed be a nice update. "What'd I say" would also be a wonderful addition if one has installed the app to learn a language. If you design "What'd I say" as a table with columns of input text and output text and a small speaker icon that speaks out the output text, it would be awesome.
Note: Please consider using text as input if you are planning another update. It helps if you do not have a US English accent. Or am I asking for too much?
Thanks.
I appreciate your input, the release for the storage of items spoken is a bit similar to what you've described.
As for input of text, the only reason this may not occur is because too many of these types of App's already exist and trying to stay away from non-verbal input but believe it or not, a lot of people can't spell properly and when they manually input (Especially via Mobile Keyboard), if the word doesn't exist or in our case can't pass 2 "Dictionaries" it will fail and sure enough, you'll be seeing how horrible our App is and "They are lucky we can't give them 0 Stars" which it's not always about the rating but to continue development someone has to use it lol. *I have now wondered off the site and thought about what you've requested and took a look at other 'Translators' and the methods seem all the same which maybe it is something we need to maybe add to make a difference and offer a "Fix What I Said" as a small text-link for a custom Popup to request manual input and force the "Chat" keyboard to allow pre-determined words/instant spell check as maybe not everyone can pronounce specific words.*
The current edition was in fact intended for anyone who spoke "English" only and only because the current Microsoft Speech Server that we have doesn't support other languages, which is why we're building our own "Add-ons" to an already existing technology but the current language is Spanish to hopefully recognize and after that, whatever other languages are requested and if we can find a voice actor that is reasonable, hopefully develop it.
Also, you're never asking too much. If you download ANYTHING of ours, I hope you'd recommend anything you'd want or think you'd like to have added. We're trying to be a little bit different than the others and actually listen to what our End-Users say as we have nothing without the EU's, like you and makes your responses invaluable.
Again, thank you very much for taking the time to respond back, I and the other guys do appreciate it.
Thanks,
Lance

It is always nice to see developers respond readily to user suggestions. It is true that some users misspell words and then curse the app in the review section. The instant spell check/suggest(Google style) would be a nice way to combat this issue. Something like "Did you mean xxxx" after a failed search would also be nice.
It is good to see that you are working on a Spanish input version. I do not know if there is any demand for Hindi(India's national language), but if you ever need voice for it, then contact me.
Thanks.

Once again thank you for your input and kind words and the only reason for Spanish input is because in America, the country is being overran with Spanish Speaking immigrants that have no real desire to learn English and if we can't force them or any [non-English speaking] to speak the language of the country, maybe this will help and work with local governments on providing the solution and not have what's current, a problem (This way as they speak we can translate it ourselves as you must assume they won't have the software).
Sounds harsh, sure but the truth hurts and no one else is trying to resolve the issues or help prevent/alleviate them. As for Hindi, off hand I am unsure what our demographics are for this but I know we get more Indian downloaders than Italy, France, and etc...
Either way, thank you very much for the offer and I will pin you to our memo server as a possible voice actor/coach. Also we all agreed we're going to put in the ability to type what you want/fix what was spoken. We'd like to give you a shout out in the about page, what name would you like?
Thanks,
Lance

Translation tool, open-source

Hi everyone,
I've created a translation tool. It's written in Java for Servlet Spec 3.0, and uses OpenID for authentication. Currently i've only implemented a PostgreSQL back-end but it can easily support MySQL or even AppEngine.
If anyone is interested, i'll open-source it so you can host it yourself.
You can try it out, by helping me translate my app Timesheet:

Please leave any feedback about the tool here.

Wow, I just started to use this translator and I am really surprised, all thumbs up! :good::good:
It's easy to use and very fast switching to next translation string. It's very pleasing. And I am very happy, you'll open source this piece of software, great. Is it possible that you host other translation projects or is this intended as a demonstration? However, thanks for that, I really like
EDIT:
Where is the source available or will be? Would frankly put this tool in first post for the developers. Also, if you need further tests for your timesheet app, go ahead to App Tester Index.

I made it for the translation of my own app. But if others would like to use the tool, i'll open-source it. I just made the tool public so i'd like some usage feedback, bug squashing, before i'll post the source on github or alike.
It's not a cloud service. If you got a server running a Java Servlet container like Tomcat with a PostgreSQL database, you'll be able to host it yourself as is. If you use MySQL we'll maybe have to change some sql statement first.

I would prefer I can edit or delete my translations.
I have made an error and it cannot be deleted. So I make another translation, the right one, but when I return to this line, I see the first one, with error, is still present and is above the right one, I tried to rate the wrong one down and the right one viceversa, it doesn`t work. Does it mean the wrong translation can be merged?

Fixed the bug that prevented you from down-rating a translation alternative. As for deleting. Tricky to implement, don't want users to delete an established alternative that may have gotten votes. Maybe allow the person who submitted it to only remove it for a certain time?
As it is now, only the administrator can "approve" an translation alternative, which is then exported. I was thinking the administrator would go through the translations and approve the highest rated translation. But it may be better if i'll add an "approver" user role so that a trusted contributor, like yourself , can approve a certain language translations?
gaich said:
And in the summary section of each xml I`d like to see two more columns, right to the NAME, maybe, a column with the original text and to the right of TRANSLATED - a column with the translated text. Let them be abbreviated to save space, but it will be very useful to search through the text, return to the strings I want to correct etc. It is hard to search through codes indicated in NAMES...
Or, instead of this, it would be great to have a separate page with a table where I can see just the original text on one side and the translation on the other - so i could have the whole translation to correct in context, because now I can forget which Russian term I assigned to "Mileage", for example in the first lines of the translation and I can translate it with different word at the end. And when I can see the whole translation, I can easily correct it. Right now I have to search through the codes and even corrected I am not sure the wrong translation will be dismissed or included, as I said earlier.

Of course, people shouldn`t delete other user`s translations! I am talking about only one who submitted it could delete and edit it.
For example - you just put your hand an keyboard occasionaly and typed something like fagerwtywrjkoivthi genk;xcnF and submitted it ocasionaly too, and there will be found many "experienced" users to vote and rank this translation, as a result, it will appear in the app when it is released.
It is true, sometimes I read translations on crowding and cannot downrate the incorrect ones because there are more than 1 vote for it!
It`s easier, when you`re proofreader or, as you say, approver, such person is necessary, it has the rights to edit, delete and approve all translations for this language. It makes the unique style for the app - because it isn`t always good if there are many translators - they could use different terms and expressions and all will be rated by the third user... As a result the app user will be confused with different meanings of the same word.
I am proofreader for some crowding projects, so I am sure these translations will be good for the user. Not sure other will.
So if you will make such kind of person and grant him such kind or rights, I will be glad to help you with Russian!
P.S.-I still cannot downrate the incorrect translations.
P.P.S.S. even if I sign in with other account.

I've implemented "contributors" and given you "approver" status for Russian. You should be able to down-rate. The translation alternatives are sorted by "rating", you just didn't see the current rating number. Only the admin and approver can see that, so now you should see it.
Wow I just tried your translation tool and I am impressed!

The question is - how to get all key events for hardware keyboard. Solution would be nice, but some pushes in right direction is fine too.
The idea is - make hotkey control for some application-specific actions (which isquite useful for android tv boxs).
P.S.
Sorry for my bad English, it's not my native language, and Russian is not remotely close to English.

Actually found a way to work with keyboard(or to be exact - all hardware keys). The key is AccessibilityService. Hope it'll be useful for someone.
