[Doubts] Remove all Bloatware (COMBINATION File process).

Hi.
I need to remove all Bloatware, from my Note9
I think one way to do it, is installing the N960U1 Firmware (USA unbranded)
Reading on the Internet and watching videos on YouTube, I obtained the following procedure:
My Note9:
Model: SM-N960U (AT&T)
FW: N960USQS1ARI5
1- Flash Stock Firmware (N960USQS1ARI5) and make a Wipe Data/Factory Reset
2- Flash CSC from Firmware (N960U1UEU1ARJ5)
3- Flash COMBINATION File (COMBINATION_FAC_FA81_N960USQU1ARG4)
Enter - Menu - Factory IME
Press *#243203855#
Select CSC = XAA (in my case)
Reboot
4- In ADB Shell, enter the following command: echo "XAA" > /efs/imei/mps_code.dat
5- Flash Stock Firmware (N960U1UEU1ARJ5)
6- Wipe Data/Factory Reset
7- Done
This is a summary procedure (without details), but...It is right?
I have a doubt with step 4...
Why is it done?
Is it necessary to do it?
Thank you.
Flashing stock firmware isn't going to help, there will be no Samsung provided Firmware without the bloat.
To remove the bloat, it's actually much easier than before, thanks to these recent versions of Android.
All you need to do is open an ADB Shell and paste in the contents of the quoted text in the first post in this thread. This will disable almost all bloat but personally, there are a couple parts of the bloat I like to keep, so I omit a few of the lines.
What bloatware are you wanting to remove?

I agree with you, "Flashing stock firmware is not going to help"...but, I will change from custom to Operator to un-customized.
and Maybe later, the list (Galaxy Note 9 Bloatware Removal Thread) that you mention can be shorten a little more.

It will not be necessary to make the change of CSC?

Correct. Just flash the U1 firmware. If you're on ATT theres no reason to mess with the CSC. You wouldn't want to anyway.

Yep, I flashed the U1 non-carrier specific firmware with the patched Odin yesterday. Absolutely no problems, ATT 4G LTE still works (even a little faster than before), Wifi Hotspot now works, and no ATT bloatware anymore (I re-installed Visual Voicemail from ATT, that is the only ATT specific app i have now). I even got two or three OTA updates for security right away.

Can you share your "Service provider SW ver."? (see the attachment in my case ATT/ATT/ATT), Please!.

Your answers are in his photo he attached. He obviously has the ATT carrier-branded Note 9 model N960U, same as you.
He flashed software build N960U1UEU1ARJ5.

what others said is correct, just flash u1 in modified odin and ull be on xaa with little or no bloat..
the dialer code is nice to do it on the fly.. u can use it to only apply network settings or change the brand or both..
the adb commands are not needed at all.. i also am pretty sure they dont work at all (permission denied) on note 9..
keep in mind pie builds are different.. i dont think it matters what u flash, it changes based on sim inserted.. the csc code also doesnt work on latest pie builds so no way to change it up unless u put in another sim card.. i think one of the earlier pie builds i was on the csc dialer code worked..
on latest pie build i notice a new line in dl mode, anyone by chance know what "KG Status" is?

Search here through the forums. The files are linked in a few threads, as are the instructions.
You could just Google ODIN instructions and find it.

Firmware Flash Compatibility Question

I have an AT&T variant of the S10 (SM-G973) and I wanted to flash the stock One UI ROM that is found on the unlocked S10 (SM-G970). Does anyone know if the firmware for the 970 can be flashed successfully on a 973 phone?

Why would you want to flash G970 firmware onto G973 phone? Can't you just flash G973 firmware onto your G973 phone?
My understanding is that the G973 firmware has the AT&T Bloatware and some functions/tiles hidden (like the mobile data tile for quick settings). I'm hoping I can do the stock firmware from G970 to not deal with the bloatware and have more access.

Use SamFirm tool to download firmware you need ( I have attached zip file) and check out example image on how to search and download firmware your phone needs.
So under model, you would put SM-G973U1 (which should be unlocked model) and region you would put XAA (unlocked model) and click "check update" IF YOUR MODEL IS DIFFERENT FROM MY EXAMPLE, THEN ENTER THE CORRECT MODEL AND REGION YOU NEED

N-960n flash to stock att firmware

Not officially, no. However I don't think samsung pay will work in the US on a Korean Note9 anyway, so if you unlock the bootloader and root you can flash a CSC changer to get all of the ATNT features (including voLTE/voWIFI). You will void your warranty and lose knox/Samsung Pay.

you can't flash snapdragon firmware on a exynos device. but regardless, just pop the sim and be happy. no need to change CSC for voice and data.
but if you do root as the suggested then you can get the additional csc features by flashing a csc pack.

Exactly which CSC pack can I use and where do I get it?
I am in the exact same situation: Korean SM-G960N, rooted, on AT&T's network with Android 9.
Do I extract the CSC from the latest SM-G960U1 file and flash that with Odin? Can I use an Android 10 CSC on an Android 9 phone?

Are you looking for AT&T specifically? Cause from what I know they don't release them. I used N960U since the 1 is the unlocked version software. Sorry I can't be much help beyond what I know of AT&T files. Best of luck.

Flashong stock rom on carrier device

Is it possible to flash stock s10 rom on a s10 which is purchased from Verizon without tripping Knox. The device is recently unlocked by the carrier.
I want to remove the Verizon version of the rom because of the Verizon bloat and services (not saying that stock is clean but it's less crappy).
Thanks in advance
You mean you want to go from Verizon stock to stock Samsung unlocked? Yes, you can do this by downloading the U1 firmware and using the patched version of Odin to flash it with. Note that it will erase everything and you will lose stuff like wifi calling.

Hey just wanted to understand if this affects warranty. Also if you can post step by step guide on how to do this with samkey?
For people who can't switch between csc in the same mult csc pack. OXM multi csc pack contains all the european generic and network branded firmware (csc) so if You are at MEO (part of OXM multi pack), and flash it with TPH (part of OXM multi pack) the MEO will stay. What you need to do is to flash it with different multi csc pack (just see what packs are available for your model), try to flash Brazil csc ZTO, it's part of multi pack OWO. then flash it back with OXM multi pack, and it should switch to some generic csc, then if you instert your sim card it should ask you if you want to customize your phone to the inserted sim card and it will change your csc to the one you want.
Hello.
In my own case, I bought the SM-G998B from Korea, which is KOO/KOO/KOO, and I live in Africa. I won't mind being able to flash on OXM or any other multi-csc firmware, just so long as I can use my sim card here.
All I'm getting right now is limited service, and the option to select network operators is completely missing from my phone.
my s21U original comes with XSP CSC and firmware.. i have tried flashing to XME the flashing is ok and everything except that under software provider it still shows XSP... will it affect me receiving ota from XME?
