No network anymore

Hello again to all Xda dear friends,
Thanks again to all the great team that are running such a great forum and thanks again to you all for all the amazing hard work and the enriching discussions which we all learned from over the years :good:

I successfully Now have theTurbo Boot Loader Unlocked
and I Successfully have TWRP and (Flashable KK ROM Computerfreek274_4.4.4_KK Deodexed, Root, Tether, DeBloated,12/10/15 ) installed on it, Also i have downgraded to the 4.4 radio to work
everything seemed to be working fine till i realized a problem that i had few days ago when i received an SMS txt and then i tried to reply it and it kept saying sending and never did till it fail
So, i tried to work around it and after some research i find out that the smsc (Short Message Service - Service Center)
i tried many ways through messaging app to do it and there is no way to add it
then i tried message+ from vzw and still no joy as there is no way to set the message center there
so i read many times about the hidden setting menu and then i get some programs that help access to fix it But again that still didn't do it
moreover now there is a much bigger problem
My phone has no service now
i tried many things including a different sim and all of that and still no joy even though the different sim is from another network

I don't know what i did wrong during my trial to fix the sms problem in the service menu
and i was wondering is there anyway i could reset that ( Hidden setting menu OR Network settings ) without having to factory default or install a new system ?
as i can't do that at this time due to current circumstances

2) is there some reason you want KitKat 4.4.4 and 4.4.4 radio instead of Lollipop? No one has used that ROM since last year, so not sure anyone is going to help you trouble shoot it. OK, there are a couple of comments as of January 2016 in that ROM thread, but still...

I also see in that thread that 4.4 ROM was suggested to you so you wouldn't have to go backwards in stock images. I understand your reasons.

3) It's strange it shows "No Service" when it clearly shows 1 bar of signal. That's not zero signal.
That would imply some authorization issue for your SIM card.
You said you tried a different SIM card, but was it a different carrier or the same carrier? Do you use Verizon?

also I'm NOT in the US to use Verizon
But i used it in a different country than the current one and it was working okay even i was using the current sim Roaming there
all was fine
till i came where iam and the sim id from where i currently am located now and it was working perfect
till i decided to try to work to add the SMSC which is the the message center so i can be able to send sms
and then it went wrong from there
I also
I used different carrier sim to check if that's the problem but it remains the same
the thing is it always give me this error now
can't connect to this network right now try again later
and sometimes error searching network
I think it is using CDMA that's why it doesn't register

What's the latest on Unlocking the XZ3 Bootloader - DRM (EU model - Feb 19)

While I found some good info in the 'state of root for the XZ3' Q&A, that does not work well using the XDA Labs app, and I want to be sure I know what's going on before I do something stupid.
To my understanding from a news update on XDA here, the XZ3 camera does not break when unlocking. So, here are the steps I believe I need to take (EU version from Clove)
1) Unbox, connect to my wifi and run the updates. Update level I need is at least 52.0.A.84.
2) Checkbox for unlocking now available (under development section). Unlock the bootloader. (camera works after this)?
3) Update firmware to 52.0.A.126 via xperafirm
If I want TWRP / Root
4) Install TWRP per instructions (I read that this breaks Camera again)
5) Install TWRP camera fix
6) Install Magisk and the module to fix DRM.
As I understand it, even the DRM fix will not bring back some of the Sony stuff - Triluminous display settings, xreality, dynamic contrast enhancer, LDAC audio? and dolby ATMOS? If anyone can test those and see if they work, that'd be awesome.
Are my steps correct? Am I missing anything?

It is the unlocking step that breaks the camera, not TWRP/Magisk.

Triluminos/X-Reality/Dynamic contrast are arguably "features" that you'd rather lose than keep. In 7 years of owning Xperia devices I have never used them. There is a generic "super-vivid" mode that replaces X-Reality after unlocking the boot loader:

LDAC doesn't appear to be affected, although I don't have a suitable device to test it with:
As for Atmos, I think I uninstalled that app immediately, and it looks like it's not available as an apk that I could find easily so I can't test it for you. I think it's unaffected by the unlock, though.
Glancing over at the camera fix thread on the XZ2 forum, it looks like 163 is safe to flash (instead of 126), but 202 is unknown. If you're unlocking anyway, you might want to test it and report back whether the camera fix still works on 202. If it doesn't, you can always use Newflasher to downgrade to 163. For the time being, I'm holding off on flashing anything as the main two things I would like are Resurrection Remix and a working port of GCam with Night Sight, both of which are unavailable for the XZ3 as of writing.

Right, sorry. I meant to ask... from my reading the camera 'shouldn't' break. I suppose it's okay if it does as long as I can fix it.

Bingo! I would LOVE to have RR, or maybe Slim available.. and yeah, a working GCAM would be amazing.
Hoping as prices fall this device gets in the hands of some more folks in the modding community... not that I have any complaints with all the work that @MartinX3 and others are providing!

Working GCam will only be on AOSP-based ROMs like Lineage and RR, and depends on full Camera2 support.

So, it is officially supported by SONY https://developer.sony.com/develop/open-devices/get-started/unlock-bootloader/
but which one are up to now the benefit we can get?

The warning is full of 'ifs' and 'may bes'. Honestly, there isn't much to dislike about Sony's ROM, so I really only want the unlocked bl to root and remove Facebook.
Root is becoming less of a requirement in my eyes, but you may find some need for it.

I love that stock but I installed NOVA as now we lost also the themes...
I would get a better camera support as for the GCAM. The quality of the shoots of XZ3 is really poor. I did a comparison with my R1 and it is top-down everything.

Just an update to my original post - .126 is the current US custom version. Because I want to use VOLTE on Tmobile, I'll be using that for my base. I'd like to update to 202, but I'll need to wait for Sony to catch up

Hello! I'm researching which camera features are missing after unlocking this device. What I found out is: We have full Camera 2 support including RAW. So is everything fine now or is the image quality still not as good as on an unlocked device? I can't find any comparison photos.
What I also don't know yet is: Is good photo quality bound to the sony camera app or some driver or service?
Also I read about upgrading or downgrading the firmware to a target firmware to save keys for future use. I found no way to do this without unlocking the bootloader first.

Hello everyone, I got few questions.
As the title says, which version of stock rom do you use? Does it have any issues, are you rooted or not, green camera even with TA keys provisioned? Asking because, while I was following tutorial I couldn't pull out TA-unlocked.img, it said that file doesn't exist. I pulled entire /data/local/tmp folder and it showed 3 renoroot files and one "g+fffffffffffffff+fffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff" file which is 12kb in size. I have green camera in Oreo, so Oreo is no go for me. Looking for decent stock Pie version, because latest one has touchscreen issues, it becomes unusable for 5-6 seconds and then works and stops working. Also, someone mind directing me to which TWRP should I use for PIE to install Magisk and other things, would be really nice. Any help is wellcome.

The last pie stock "2.2.8 should not have touchscreen issues, or any other firmware. If you have issues, and you still have warranty, try to send it it. Sony, in my opinion, is notorious for their touchscreen issues. I experienced touchscreen issues on z3 compact and z5 compact EOL. I suspect the same will happen with xz1 compact, unfortunately. However I am on my 3rd original screen repair/replacement , so hopefully it will last a bit longer this time.

Phone is not under warranty, so that is out of question, also don't want to lose waterproofing. This touchscreen issue happens only on Pie, currently I can find only latest pie and latest LineageOS, who aswell have that issue, while no issue occurs on stock Oreo, besides green camera.

Have you done a full wipe when installing the latest ROM? I've updated 3 times to Pie and come back to Oreo within hours due to certain issues so you may live to regret not following the guide properly.

I did as the guide said, and I have done it all on Oreo. I have pulled TA-Locked.img and later it said to pull TA-Unlocked.img and push TA-Locked.img. I tried pulling out entire tmp folder but it had only renoroot files and weirdly named one. Then I pushed back locked img and did rest as guide says. I have attest key provisioned but not SOMC Fido and SOMC Attest. Any idea if I can still fix it?

If you still have your TA-Locked.img then yes, the unlocked one is for "(for future comparisons)".
Start from scratch with the guide and redo the restoration of the locked TA img. If it doesn't work you're doing something wrong.

Upgrading Redmi 9 questions

Hello peeps,
I recently purchased a Redmi 9, it came with MiUI Global 11.0.7 Stable (QJCLMCR). I've been trying to update it through the phone butI haven't been able. Some friends that already have MiUI 12 told me thatsince I purchased it through the phone compnay they modify the ROM to add their apps and stuff anf that may be what's preventing me from updating and I'd have to update it manually if I didn't weant to wait.
I googled how to do it manually and it involded downloading the ROM but they seem to have a different version than mine (QJCLMCR) I don't know if this would work with mine or if I should check anything before installing it. I seriously don't want to mess up my phone so I'd appreciate any help with this. Does this would work with my version or do I have to look somewhere else?

Bro , from which country do you come from? it seems you are from Colombia . You have an operator modified version of miui, in your case I think it's Claro. You cannot update manually, nor use one of those roms in the image since you can hard brick your phone. You have two options: Wait for your carrier to release the update (which usually never happens) or change to the Global Rom, you must unlock the bootloader and flash via MiTool.
And you can remove the Preinstalled apps with ADB ! (you must be careful!). Cheers!!!

Yes, you're correct, I'm in Colombia with a Claro phone. I guess it's a good thing I asked beforehand. I'd try to change to the Global Rom, thank you for your the information!

General ColorOS Experience

i have Oneplus 10 PRO Chines version, i am the 2nd owner, i got it pre-installed with oxygenOS, i have tried to enable call recording and it succeeded only with root magisk which affected my banking Apps. also one of my banking apps never open with/without root as it was affected with the unlocked bootloader.
i have decided to move to ColorOS and i was surprised, the OS is very stable, it has built in call recording, the phone Battery has a huge improvement over the OxygenOS i am using the phone almost all the time and the battery percentage barely drops. the OS comes with many chines apps which i removed 90% of it. the battery icon change to green when i connect normal charger and change to blue when i connect the 80W charger. it has a built in Mail app which helps me with my work Email in separate app then Gmail, and i feel the phone is more smooth. and i got ride of the orange warning after locking the bootloader.
one note, google services is supported, i only had to download google play store and install it manually.
the below is the steps for migrating from OxygenOS to ColorOS.
1- Downgrade to OxygenOS 12 A17 4.2 GB
2- Install ColorOS 12 A13 6.6 GB
3- OTA ColorOS to 12 A19 about 5.5 GB
4- OTA ColorOS to 13 about 6.5 GB
5- OTA ColorOS to 13 11_C_28 "this is the Latest OTA" 1.5 GB
Warning I have followed a guide here which downgrade to OOS 12 then upgrade directly to COS 13, and my SIM cards did not work neither connecting the phone to PC, i had to use the above yes huge amount of wasted bandwidth but safe and functional.
i wanted to share my experience to help the others, IMPORTANT my phone is Chines N2210 so it comes with ColorOS and it is safe to install it, i don't know if you can install ColorOS on different models. i did not test it and i will not recommend it.

I really recommend testing ColorOS. I'm using C.52 and liked oppo apps. The only reason i sometimes i think go back to OOS, its my language, ColorOS dont have portuguese.

COS has a bunch more spyware. As far as the banking apps, you can hide root access to apps individually.

are you sure you did it properly? if all you did was install magisk and configure denylist, you did not do everything possible.
you have to use AND ALSO configure 2 additional magisk modules. in addition, you should clear data for a few android services. research a little better and you will pass literally any root check for any app, including banking, market trading, literally anything. it hides bootloader unlock as well as root. the only thing we cannot ever get is full widevine access for full HD netflix (but this is due to OnePlus screwing something up, not because root access and unlock cannot be properly hidden)
you need to look into installing AND CONFIGURING "Universal SafetyNet Fix", AND "MagiskHide Props Config". you can learn how online. good luck.

Can you share the link for ColorOS 12 A13?, I already downloaded a version from 4pda But it doesn't show up in the local update.
Now I'm wondering if I can directly use the coloros rollback to switch roms

Hi, I'm also having the same device NE2210. My bootloader is relocked by the seller.
To go back to Color OS do I need to unlock the boot loader? and follow your instructions.
Did you relocked the bootloader after installed the colorOS ?
