[Q]How to get music players controls in lockscreen and notification bar?

I remember, way back in the day, when my phone was stock and I thought it was so cool that my music controls would appear when I hit the power button to unlock the screen. Then I thought it was even cooler that I could control Pandora (I forget if it was through lockscreen or through notification bar) the same way.
Now I'm rocking Continuum 5.5 and was wondering if there is something I can do to enable non-stock music players to be controlled through the lockscreen or notification bar without having to add any widgets to my homescreen or without having to download any extra apps. I even hate having to drag the little CD icon down on the lockscreen when I'm using the stock music player. Basically I'm really lazy and would like to control both Pandora and my new Google Music app through the notification bar and hopefully even the lockscreen and I'm very picky about having widgets and such.
tl;dr: can I control non-stock music apps through lockscreen and/or notification bar without having to download any apps or add any widgets?
I would live that too, my stock music player controls dissapeared when I unlock the screen now
Check out Power Amp in the market. Does what your asking and more
Now if it only was a light sabor too....
I know Symply and Subpression did this for all lock screens. Samsung based lock screens work with Samsung player, other lock screens work with any other player, don't know for sure Pandora, but I thought they did. I ran symply for a while, buts its not as stable as continuum.

Well... the whole point is that I don't want to download any extra apps other than the ones I use, i.e. Pandora and Google Music. Besides, I've used PowerAMP in the past, when it was still free and I thought it sucked. Way too bloated with crap I don't need and a terrible UI.

I've tried all the lockscreens that come with Continuum 5.5 with Pandora, Google Music, and Winamp, and none of them had controls on the lockscreen. I'm also wanting controls in the notification bar again, I miss that too.
I see that in the description for the "Obsession" ROM it says that a few of its lockscreens will work with ANY non-Samsung music player. Can someone running that ROM confirm whether it'll give me lockscreen controls for Pandora and/or Google Music? Thanks.
Did we find a solution to this???
Continuum 5.6 has music controls on lock screen. Not sure about pandora though. I'll check it out in a few

Yep works with pandora

So to answer your question, you can upgrade to continuum 5.6 and that will give you like four different lock screens that will have music controls for non-stock music players and pandora on the lock screen. As far as notification controls, they don't seem to be there.

How about for Mosaic?!

Wow, the music controls only work on the Epic and Glass lockscreens. Lol...

if you are referring to stock music player and continuum 5.6 then yes. But on 5.6 there is 9 lock screens., and several have music controls that work with any non-stock music player. Goto settings/lockscreen menu/lockscreen

Nope, I'm on Mosaic IV.
How do you get the miui lock screen to work on continuum 5.6 to look like the screen shots? Mine just has the lock slider on the left and the volume slider on the right. No music controls, and doesn't have the buttons like all the miui screen shots have.

Try posting in the rom's Q&A thread
Just added smart notifications to Media Utilities which basically adds notification controls to applications that have not added them yet like Pandora. Will automatically hide notifications if you switch the anther media app.

Remove Music Notification completely

Is there a way of completely removing the music player notification from the drop down menu because I no longer use the stock music player?
I know there is a thread that does this but that only removed the controls, not the whole notification.
I am using nova v8
thanks
I know this is not a solution, but a suggestion - well, switch to cyanogenmod, it will give you freedom of all the customization.
have you open the music player->setting/option ?

I see no reason to swtich from Nova v8 - I get great performance, battery life, lag free flash in browser and have heavily customised it to my liking so theres really no reason why I would move from a stable rom to a cm nightly!

that is buggy and always switches back if you reboot phone/close the app/ use another music player.
I didn't find any setting to turn the notification off in Music/Settings.
Anyway, do you try to remove the stock music player (by Titanium Backup, or SystemappRemover, etc.) and install another as as replacement? I wonder will it work?
OT: speaking of CM, there is a way to customize the notofication bar? Beacause either im blind or dumb but i couldnt get to find it.

I have the exact same problem.
The controls in the dropdown menu can be disabled in the stock music player settings but when the player is frozen/uninstalled the controls come back!
I wanted to choose a different player but this bothered me so much that i am stuck with the default one...
If someone has the knowledge to disable the controls on the drop down menu once and for all, please help!

Can Quick Panel shortcuts be changed in ICS?

In ICS, sliding down from the notification area shows a panel of shortcuts WiFi, BT, GPS, etc. Can these be modified? I would like to take one out and add a different one.

I guess I don't know how to do that. Can you provide more details? Are you saying there's an app in the Play Store do this?

I forgot you might not have that apk if you cannot move those short cuts to the left. If you have a rooted phone then you can install this apk from the following thread:

status bar icon removal?

Hi is there a setting somewhere to hide certain status bar icons?
Thanks
Good lock does this and also UI Tuner, however neither can hide the Bluetooth connected icon but they do the rest.

I haven't tried connecting a device yet, maybe that's why I don't see it.
Not OP, But I just tried to install UI Tuner, But it keeps crashing. BTW I have an S10+.
Mine only shows up when I have an active bluetooth connection, other than that it is hidden
System UI tuner on the play store works and removes this icon, just have to use ADB to make this work.

Good Lock is just the main program and you're not required to use the lockscreen, I don't. The notifications are controlled by the Quickstar module within Good Lock where you can hide the clock or have it on the left or right.

Ui update forced my media player to have a widget on lock screen - how to disable?

This had happened to me at some point last year and I found the setting to get rid of it but now I can't find it please let me know where it is in settings thank you very much. I have already checked settings > lockscreen > widgets and music is disabled. Media player still exists on lockscreen.

bump for help please thanks
While the media is playing, there is no way to disable the widget. It's one of those "features"!

I've had this phone for over a year and I was able to disable it before and had it functioning without that widget on the lock screen for the last year straight.
So what you said couldn't possibly be true as I did have it resolved. Just the stupid update created a regression.
