Questions regarding the *#2663# USSD Code. - Samsung Galaxy Note 9 Questions & Answers

Is it generally safe or desirable to update any of these firmwares? Does it in fact update them with a downloadable newer firmware or does it
just refresh the same installed firmware from a safe backup?
Also I'm noticing that the 'Bluetooth Version' listing at the bottom is showing, 'Error'. Is this normal? If not, what should it be.
Also under the Bluetooth Version subsection:
CC/PDIC Module FW Version: 32.00
CC/PDIC Binary FW Version: 32.00
If these are abnormal, I would love it if someone could post a screen grab of theirs.
Thx!
**UPDATE** Okay, turned on BT before I ran the code again and I got:
BCM4361B2 Crown 1QW ANT1 [Version:0110.0230]

[Q] Present, past and still a future (with no product code)?

Hello,
I am new to mess around with mobile phones and Android and (therefore) also managed to bring my girlfriend's GT-I8190 phone to a non-working state. Although there are lots of information in this forum I am more confused than sure what to do. I hope to get here some help / information / explanation.
Past
The phone was bought in Germany and had probably a German firmware. But I do not know, since no connections to Kies or whatsoever and no backups where done earlier. After a error of Android (e:\ failed to mount or something similar) which blocked the phone on the startup logo of the non-modyfied S3 mini, my guess for a quick solution was to flash the firmware with Odin to a new(er) German version. I downloaded (from a German forum) and flashed successfully several versions (supposedly OXA). But with all version the network connection hasn't practically worked. Only very weak and only at a few locations. Once I used in desperation also a so called stock-recovery from somewhere.
Present
I visited a shop where the uber-friendly Samsung service overwrote the firmware first with the general and later with the LaFleur version (PDA: XXAMG4, CSC: QXXA MH1). Kies tells me the CSC is somehow a VE1 version (what country is that code for - moon?). But the problem hasn't changed.
I still have the original IMEI, but I'm missing the baseband and, what worries me more: no product code. I managed to read it out only with "CheckFus" which says only: Not Active1
Future ?
Since I probably haven't used the right firmware at least once, I am hesitating to do more. My ideas are as following: modem, firmware, baseband.
What is the best way to proceed? Is there still a easy solution? I don't mind to change to another version - no stock firmware is required. Am I close to have a 4" tablet?
Any answer is appreciated - thanks!

I8190XXAMG4 / QXXAMH1 is a German La Fleur firmware. I have no idea why your CSC seems to be messed up. It should probably be DBT.
What does it say if you dial *#1234# in dialer?
Thanks for the infos so far.
I did not intend to link to the LaFleur version in the first post.
Do I need the root recovery for the baseband update?
With the 1234 code I get:
AP: I8190 XXAMG4
CP: XXXX
CSC: I8190 QXXAMH1
I think this is the same as mentioned before. I checked the origin of the files I used before on this mobile and it is possible that I used this a recovery file which may be for a 8190N (I cannot post the outside link yet). I did not read careful enough the thread linking to this file.
Can this be the origin for the messed CSC version and the missing product code?
Looks like you're without baseband.
Take a look at this thread and flash a modem for i8190.

Happy end
Hello again,
firstly: Problem is solved - phone works properly. Thanks for the replies and to tys0n for the work with the files and the support - acutally doing the job of Samsung and google.
For the sake of completeness, I will tell what I did, if any unexperienced user (as I still am) will ever come across this thread:
I tried first just the standard firmware AMG4 from Sammobile (which is linked above) and afterwards the baseband files - but both did not help as expected.
I installed CWM and used the file from here and miraculously it was working (The phone is used only in 2G). Later I wiped the data and flashed again with the AMG4 firmware to have a clean version now.
AP, CP, CSC say all XXAMG4 now, Kies recognizes it as DBT (as supposed to). But the product code, which came back and was read out with CheckFus, says I8490 RWA XSE. This should be Indonesia, correct? Is there still an inconsistency somewhere?
Thanks again for the help
Robert

SM-G920A is not updating

Hello Everyone, I try to update via normal update from About phone but it is showing "Your phone is updated" and also smart switch showing as well, please help me i can't able to find much updates related to my S6 SM-G920 A as i have my Phone information below:
Android Version: 5.0.2
Baseband Version: G920AUCU2AOF4
Build Number: LRX22G.G920AUCU2AOF4
Please guide me is it possible to update from 5.0.2 to any above ? If yes than how? is it possible that i install any other framewares version like : G920AUCU3BO12, G920AUCU3BOJ7 on it?
Yes, you can flash via odin. But, I'm not sure if you can go straight to something like BOJ7 or if there is something in between you install like BO12 (though I'm not sure if that update has ever been uploaded here)

Used P9 - Missing Stock Apps

Hello everyone!
I just bought an used P9 (EVA-L19) in pristine condition. It arrived with the nougat update but it is missing all Huawei apps. I don't think I really mind not having those (less bloat, hurray!), but I really want at least the camera app! What should I try? This thing is full stock (unrooted), and I'd rather keep it that way... Should I just flash the full stock firmware? HiSuite claims my phone is up to date, but I've got no idea how to check what build my current firmware is.
Thanks!
Oooh... the build seems to be NRD90M "test-keys", which appears to be an old beta build from my googling. Do I have to go back to MM and then upgrade to Nougat? Hopefully I can do all that without a custom recovery...
You have an intermediate firmware.
Search here the B378 for C432 if you want the european version (wich is working fine; some other last updates may have some problems - for example, with B383 me and others have problems with the battery).
Where are you from ??

I'm from Brazil, but I know for a fact this phone isn't brazilian. It comes with a bunch of stuff written in spanish rather than portuguese, and a warranty certificate citing a bunch of spanish-spekaing latin american countries. I'm browsing through the forums and trying to find out what is my Cust yet. But thanks for the response.
Also, if I have to flash something, is it better to stick with Nougat or is Marshmallow more hassle-free?
(I've attached a screenshot of the status screen from Huawei P9 Tool, this is all the data I could gather so far)
I can't read the screenshot ...
On the "About the phone - Version number" what do you have ??
For example, mine has EVA-L19C432B378, where:
-EVA-L19 is the phone model (P9 dual sim);
-C432 is the european version;
-B378 is the firmware version.
Also, you can read that thread too ... https://forum.xda-developers.com/p9/how-to/how-to-downgrade-nrd90m-to-marshmallow-t3541400

All it says on "Version number" is "NRD90M test-keys". I've read that thread, but to downgrade you need a ROM, and without knowing my Cust ID I'm not sure which ROM I should get.
The screenshot shows my serial number (XVV7N16425001010), the model (EVA-L19 - Dual Sim 32GB Rom 3GB RAM) and a weird build string (eng.jenkin.20161230.130431)

Hello,
do you have dual sim , or single sim and NFC ?
Dual sim: EVA-L19 ou L29

Dual SIM EVA-L19 - No idea if I've got NFC or not. Can't find anything NFC-related on the menus, but it might be that I do not know where to look. Long time Windows Phone user here, just migrated back to Android

NFC is an connectivity option.

It does have dual SIM, and is the EVA-L19. So no NFC then. Does it help? I'm currently looking for debranding guides because I can't find what branding this phone originally had.
Oooh well... so far:
1- *#*#2846579#*#* doesn't work (nothing happens), can't enable Manufacturer mode for DC Unlocker
2- The HUAWEI EMUI site doesn't give me a bootloader unlock code, so can't unlock the bootloader with the official method
So, so far, I can't install TWRP, so I can't flash a C432 oeminfo.bin
Also, the Rollback instructions at https://forum.xda-developers.com/p9/how-to/rollback-eva-l19-android-7-0-emui-5-0-t3496091 fail, as the rollback intermediate firmware just fails at 5% claiming to be incompatible with my device.
Aside from blindly trying to flash random firmwares with the three button method, do you guys have ANY ideas at all? I need a rest, just wasted the whole day trying to get this damned thing fixed
Sad thing: even with a borked firmware install this is still orders of magnitude better than my old Lumia 930.
EDIT: GODDAMMIT, BLUETOOTH ALSO DOESN'T WORK!

I'll give the instructions of the first post a try, though they did not work for the OP.
EDIT: AAAAAND the 800mb file is downloading at 28kbps... this won't be fun
I'm not sure if it would've been better to edit the last post or add a new one, so if this is agains the rules (I've read them and couldn't find it), please inform me and I'll change things accordingly... buuuut.... IT WORKED.
The OP on the topic absynte pointed out never really posted the outcome of his issue and it looked like he never got it to work, so here is what I did:
Flashed the zip file
I flashed the zip file linked in this post through starting up with vol up + vol down + power. Exactly like the guy over there it did not solve my issue, but did uncover I had exactly the same build as him (EVA-L19C185B361 - Middle East / Asia)
Flashed the intermediate firmware
I download the correct intermediate firmware (C185B300) from here and flashed the same way. The *#*#... menu did not work (as in the menu itself didn't show up)
Flashed a MM build
I downloaded and flashed C185B180 for whatever reason (could've gone with tha latest MM build right away AFAIK). Worked great, all stock apps were there and so was bluetooth
Let the phone update itself through OTA
It updated itself to B210 (or B220, don't remember well) and then B385. Seems to be working fine, but I haven't given the battery a fair chance (constantly flashing and updating stuff) to judge its performance.
Thanks everyone for the help!

SMN920S TSP Threshold fail - boggy touches

Hi,
Oh well, I give it a try...
after a month of research I decided to ask for help regarding my issue. I've purchased a note 5 from ebay and it was sold to me as an international version (SMN920F - ok now I already know "F" for fake), but revealed that I been cheated with a korean version of the phone. It was flashed with a Saudi firmware but the sim card was not recognized by the phone. The touch screen appeared bit bogus, the keys were inaccurate as well so I've tried to flash the stock 7.0 android. Finally made the sim recognized, but the touch issue remain. I've found lots of instruction on code #2663.
Here's the thing, that every time I update the TSP firmware it passes, but the TSP threshold always shows fail.
I've tried to downgrade the phone to 5.1 or 6.0 android to have a different version of the TSP firmware, but unfortunately I couldn't downgrade the TSP firmware as it was failing.
I'm not sure, that the seller has changed the TSP of some other model's or they all the same.
The SPen is also inaccurate, almost 5mm off the tip. Any tool exist to fix it or as a last option offer the phone for the kitchen bin?
Thanks.

Question Best way to get a firmware update notification while being rooted?

I was wondering what you guys use for getting notified when a firmware update arrives? As I'm rooted, I won't receive official OTA notifications. I can check Frija manually or any other firmware website, but is there a neat app that does the trick on the smartphone itself? Something like Oxygen Updater on OnePlus devices?
Ive never seen an app for this. As you alluded to yourself, the issue here is for it to notify you on your phone. It is very simple to write a script on a computer to look for a version change on the website and notify you. You can run most desktop scripts in Termux but there's no way to schedule it so its still a manual process. You need an app that can scrape websites for version info but I have zero experience in that area to even know where to start.
I have now found multiple ways of checking for an update in case anyone is wondering:
CheckFirm: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.illusion.checkfirm
You can try to scan for a new firmware. It uses other users to find a new firmware but according to the dev, it might be able to scan automatically in the future (though no ETA)
Use Samsung's own version.xml: https://fota-cloud-dn.ospserver.net/firmware/DBT/SM-G998B/version.xml
This is an example (replace DBT with the CSC code and SM-G998B with your model version. It will list all firmwares with the newest firmware number at the top.
Use Samsung's changelog: https://doc.samsungmobile.com/sm-g998b/dbt/doc.html
This is an example (replace DBT with the CSC code and SM-G998B with your model version.
There are plenty of services online that check for any changes on a public website. Most of them are restricted to a certain number of websites or only check every 24 hours. But checking those two official websites from Samsung would make it possible to get a firmware update notification.
Since you can't update the firmware on the device itself while being rooted, a notification is enough for me. I still have to use ODIN on a Windows PC anyway
Thanks was looking for this
