Hi everyone,
I appreciate this forum and the sharing of info.
I'm in the process of switching to a custom ROM to stop feeding the marketing matrix. I'm happy to see that higher quality hardware is now compatible, but it seems there are various factors that need to be sorted out to be sure a phone will work.
I hope to learn from others here so I can successfully make the switch.
Roger

My name is Chike, I have actually been getting a great deal of help from this forum, but i decided to register today because of the issue I have with my Umidigi A5 pro. I love tinkering with my device, like I can't use an unrooted device, I have always been able to fix certain issues on my device and colleague's devices because of some of the knowledge I have gotten from here, and with respect to the technological know - how of android phones, it has made me become the proverbial, one - eyed man in the land of the blind.

Hey, guys!
My name is Alex, I live in Mexico and I'm a System Engineer. I like Electronics very much, but my knowledge is based on software-level computer repairs, however I know a good technician should be capable to repair Electronics on a hardware-level too, that's why I'm always looking for help and guidance on those matters.
Nowadays the people have become dependent on smartphones and cell phones, so it's almost mandatory for a technician be prepared to resolve the problems involved on those devices... so here I am trying to learn and get some help from you, guys, who definitely have more experience than me on that particular matter.
Whatever help I can bring on something I know, I will.
See you around!

Hi, I've been referring to XDA for a very long time in my times of trouble and sometimes for a 'different' perspective when it comes to mobile/ portable devices. At this point, I decided I wanted to be a part of this community and hope I will be able to contribute my knowledge and advice to different forums, as so many have contributed to mine.

Hello and welcome aboard!
Hi There, I'm glad I could join your Community, I have known about XDA devs for a few years now and have checked a few threads over the years , and I just wanna say that you guys are awesome, and the things that can be accomplished thanks to the collective efforts and knowledge here are nothing short of amazing to me.
I hope as I gain more of that knowledge and experience I may too be able to enrich this community.
I have always used Android , and never cared much for Apple, it seems too overpriced and unreliable to me.
I have been using an LG G8 "ThinQ" Verizon (stock) for some time now, and just decided to go ahead and Jump into world of possibilities that Custom ROMS and Root Modules offer to the curious "thinQering" mind.
However, I have run into a situation where I am unsure of how to proceed, STILL, before posting I will make sure to READ everything relevant to the problem that I can find.
I am Confident a Solution can be achieved.
Welcome to XDA and your off to a great start!
Enjoy the forums information!
Cheers

Hi, I'm Daniele
I've always loved technology and have been a fan of XDA since there were only PDAs
But I have never made such big mod to my device, maybe now is the right time to do it.
I'm also interested in video making, although I'm a noob in that area, so camera mods might be the first I'll look into.
I hope to enjoy this beautiful community!
