Question Simple way to transfer file from phone to watch? - Samsung Galaxy Watch 5

Hi. This should be straight forward, but I'm not finding it so using Oneplus 7pro phone and 5 watch. Right now I change the file name to ".mp3" and use the galaxy app to move the file, then change the name back on the watch. What's a better way?
Solved: MyWear File Explorer on both devices.

Via adb wifi "push" comannd

VyprVPN issues

I have a VyprVPN account and set it up on my n1 following the iPhone instructions on their website. It shows that I connect but absolutely nothing works internet wise. I have a similar problem on my Linux laptop but I can fix that by editing /etc/hosts. I'm guessing this is the same issue on the phone but I'm not sure a way around it. Any ideas?
I'm running evils desire port. Thanks for any help!
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
Editing hosts to add what?
Add the same on Android, in the same place.
I defintely meant /etc/resolv.conf.
How can I edit this file as root user? Going to the command line, I don't have access to any editors that I know of and I can't figure out how to open the file as root user within Astro.

My $0.02 on file transfers between GG and Phone

I've just gotten my GG and so far have been happy with it. I have read this entire forum at least twice now just to find those fun little tricks and tips that XDA is famous for.
In all of my reading though I have found people use wondershare to transfer .apks to their gear and it seems to me that it is a little less work to use apkshare.
What I've done so far (without issue) is to use apkshare and just to share the .apk via Bluetooth to my gear. It is fast and doesn't require having anything other than a file explorer (comes with null ROM) installed on your gear.
This is really neither here nor their as one method that works is just as good as any other that works. I just felt like sharing my own method.

I just use my favorite file explorer on my phone : ES Explorer
select the APK, long press the file, click on SHARE, select BT and then the Gear.....easy peasy

[Q] Where are Play Store downloaded apks located?

Part of me thinks this is a dumb question, and the reason I can't find where these files are located is because root is needed for it, but I guess it's worth a shot...
I purchased NBA JAM from the Google Play Store, and have it installed on my Turbo. It doesn't really work well on it, so I want to play it on my tablet (Nexus 9). However, I can't download it for the N9 via the Play Store as it shows as incompatible. I wanted to extract the apk file from my phone and then sideload it to the N9, but I haven't been able to locate the apk file on my phone.
Sorry for wasting anyone's time whose reading this and thinking "that's what root is for, n00b!", I hope you can at least get a chuckle at my expense
You can use myappsharer for to send the apk file for Bluetooth to your tablet use it it's very handy

Thanks! Will give it a try when I get home today. Much appreciated.
PS- Was my inkling about needing root for what I was attempting to do (locate the file) accurate?

I use this. It creates a folder called App_Backup_Restore on you phone and from there I
can copy my files to my computer for safekeeping.
If you cannot see the folder from your pc, you can move it with a file manager to a location that can be accessed from your computer.
Thank you both - I went with myappsharer and was able to beam it over (it didn't work, I guess it really wasn't compatible after all, but the file got sent). It was my first time ever beaming - kinda slow and quirky but I guess it's not supposed to be for big files typically.
Thanks!

SOLVED: Voicemail from Old Device to Note 8

I've searched but only find old references that don't seem to fit. Samsung Smart Switch brings over voicemail on Verizon but apparently not on Sprint Note 8. I'm coming off of an S4 and can't find a way to bring those voicemail messages to the Note 8. Does anyone know of a method that works?
What worked for me was downloading the APK for the same version of voicemail that is on the Note 8. You can find it here: https://android-apk.org/com.coremobility.app.vnotes/28825488-coremobility-vnotes/.
Once downloaded and installed on the old device (S4 in my case) you need to move all email you wish to save/ move to the Archive folder.
You may be able to just copy/ paste the ARM files but I copied the entire directory from the S4 to the Note 8.
From Windows Explorer I opened up both the Note 8 and the S4. Make sure you have a list of ARM files in the S4 directory labeled: Computer\XXXXXXXXXX (SPH-L720)\Phone\smvvm. If it appears you have a number of ARM files corresponding to the voicemails you archived you should be set.
I copied the smvvm folder and then pasted in the root folder of the Note 8. Took a little time to populate/ refresh. You may need to close out the voicemail app on the Note 8 and then reopen. Once the voicemails appear in the archive on the Note 8 you can move back to inbox, etc.
Hope this helps.

ES File Explorer Remote Manager doesn't work

Hi All,
Had a Galaxy S4 forever, but it died a few days ago and I've picked an S8. Nice phone, bright screen, faster than the S4 and I don't have SSL issues with the browsers.
I was running ES FIle Explorer Remote Manager and an FTP client on my Win7 computer (Wise FTP-6). It was easy to transfer files from one to the other in either direction.
So I have ES on my new S8 and the Remote manager isn't even listed in the menu. So I found the APK file that I was using in my S4 and installed it into the S8, it installed without issues, version 4.1.7.1.16 (market).
Now that I had the identical file on the S8 as I had on my S4 I figured I had it beat. But it still doesn't show up in the menu. Having the S4 and S8 side by side and doing the same thing it is clearly missing from the menu.
Anyone know why this is? Is there some sort of permissions I need to turn on in the S8 to let this function work?
Thanks
OK, looks like I figured it out. They moved it to a new menu and renamed it to View on PC. It doesn't have the same functionality of the one on the S4. It's missing the ability to rename it from Anonymous and no way to add a password. It has the button to make a shortcut, but it doesn't work. It lists the client name as Anonymous with a capital A but it's really anonymous with a small "a"
But I've got it to work so I can transfer my files back and forth again with ease.
Thank goodness.
