I can't flash official firmware in S10. Why? - Samsung Galaxy S10 Questions & Answers

Hi
I have a Samsung Galaxy S10 (beyond1lte), and I flash a custom rom because I want to try Android 13. Now, I want to restore the old system. When I try to restore with Odin I got this error:
SW REV. CHECK FAIL(BOOTLOADER) DEVICE:16, BINARY: 14
pit_binary_flash - Unsupported Version.
I use Odin v3.14.4.
Anyone have some ideas?

The error is clear - your bootloader is at version 16, and the file has bootloader 14. You cannot downgrade the bootloader at all, on a Snapdragon phone. Exynos may have some ways, but I am not familiar with the process.

Thanks for your answer!
I have an Exynos phone.

Last version firmware of Samsung. I think it is HVJ5. For Switzerland (AUT) last version is HWA3.
Can last version of ODIN. Version is 3.14.4.
Last version you can download from samfw.

You are trying to flash version 1 bl on version 2 bl only. The odin file you are using is bl 1. You must use bl 2 only now.
Thanks for response, but where do i find that. ?

how to dow

Hello, I cannot downgrade to Nougat, I keep getting "Sw Rev Check Fail Device 2 Binary 1" on the phone side and ODIN simply says failed. When I try to downgrade from Oreo to Nougat. I have not been able to enable "OEM Unlock".
BTW, Sorry for incomplete title as the title bar disappears and I can only type a little bit.

What model do you have? And what firmware version were you on before trying to downgrade? Some firmwares include bootloader updates which cannot be rolled back.
I have a N950F and this is the Oreo image I succesfully flashed "BL_N950FXXU3CRC1_CL13094739_QB17155977_REV00_user_low_ship.tar"
I can flash "COMBINATION_FA71_N950FXXU3ARA5" without a problem which is 7.1.1 But I think it's the bootloader that is giving me issues and since the combination file doesn't include a bootloader (AFAIK) it goes through, but when I try to put in any bootloader from Nougat, the flash fails.
I tried flashing:
-BL_N950FXXU1AQI1_CL12007350_QB14830234_REV00_user_low_ship.tar
-BL_N950FXXU1AQHB_CL12007350_QB14652984_REV00_user_low_ship.tar
and both failed. It's important to note that I'm trying to flash the whole thing, not just the "BL" file. I just pasted the BL file name because I think it holds the information you need.
Ok thanks for providing the info. One more question, what Odin version are you using?
It is not possible to downgrade.

3.13.1
I have a similar problem. Bought my N950F in Panama but I'd like to change to Brazil's ZTO(unbranded) to be able to use Samsung Pay there.
I got Odin 3.13.1 and the ROM N950FXXU3CRDF_N950FOXM3CRE4_ZTO (latest 8.0.0) from SamMobile. When I try to flash I get the "Check Fail BOOTLOADER" message. Trying to uncheck the BL, I get another error but also not able to flash. Maybe my phone has a newer version that doesn't allow it to in theory "downgrade"?
Any solution?

Yes some bootloaders can't be downgraded to earlier ones. What firmware version are you coming from?

@sefrcoko, I'm currently on Android 8.0.0, Baseband N950FXXU4CRG8, Build number R16NW.N950FXXU4CRGA.
I don't know if this is older or newer than the one I'm trying to flash. Is there a way to do it?
Thanks!

Hi, yes you are on the "U4" bootloader and trying to downgrade to the "U3" bootloader (look at those characters in the build numbers, that's the bootloader version). Can't downgrade from u4 to u3 though.

Downgrade firmware question.

I have a ATT s7 edge. I was running on g935AATT4CRE4. Oreo. I found a firmware that was a 935U firmware. I flashed it with Odin with no problems. I liked it a lot. I wanted to go back and compare the 2. I know, kind of dumb. I had issues flashing original firmware listed above. I did some research, I downloaded latest att software and flashed it. Worked fine. Here is Build number G935AUCS8CRK1 . Now I cannot go back and flash the 935u firmware. I have noticed the 5th digit from the end is now 8 and not 4. Could this be issue? Any ideas.
This is snapdragon
G935UOYM4BQD2 this is unlocked firmware

You are correct. There is an 8 version on the U firmware that will work though
Any idea where I can find the u version?
Found it on Sam mobile. Thanks
Is there a place to download this firmware without paying?
I found version 8 935u firmware. Used odin correctly. It flashed and said passed in green. Kept rebooting to samsung power on screen. What am I doing wrong?
You need to download and flash the SM-935U 8.0 firmware that matches your baseband version exactly if you scroll down you will see an USA(AT&T) version that matches your baseband that is the one you need.

If so, do I use all of the parts in Odin, or just AP?

I haven't tried combination firmware on S10, but did try it on prior models. In order for combination firmware to flash, you need to make sure the version is within the range of your current firmware on the phone. So if comb firmware is a bit older, it may not flash.
