From what ive read in this forum, reddit, and the universal method, i would flash stock boot.img, empty vbmeta image then GSI system.img.
So far, i have tried:
Android 12 & 13 GSI from Google
System_a flashes clean, on booting will restart once then boot to fastboot
System_b returns:

The correct installation procedure of a GSI on the One Plus 6t
Make sure you unlocked the bootloader and that you have the latest ADB and Fastboot from Google, I used minimal ADB worked fine for me but CAUTION if it doesn't download the latest ADB from google
Now in Fastboot flash, the following, WITHOUT rebooting in between! this needs to be done all in one go!
THE FIRST STEP DO NOT MISS
First Step
Boot to Twrp and you need to flash the avbctdisable.zip
Link- https://drive.google.com/open?id=1GhZK04FDx7WlyKb32qq0gR-SO0t51CVE
2nd Stage
fastboot flash boot_a boot.img
fastboot flash boot_b boot.img
Use the STOCK boot image!
Then flash the GSI system image of your choice
ON A/B Partition
fastboot flash system_a gsi.img
fastboot flash system_b gsi.img
Replaced by the first Step Ignore
Then flash STOCK vbmeta image with the specific commands!
Command for VBMETA
fastboot --disable-verity --disable-verification flash vbmeta vbmeta.img
ONLY USE A/B ARM64BIT GSI
Continue to Next Steps
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Extra steps I had to do When flashing if you are flashing any GSI DO NOT FLASH TWRP AFTER
STEPS After GSI flashed
1.Boot TWRP thru Fastboot
2.Wipe Data and Dalvic Art Cache
3.Flash the TWRP installer
4.Reboot to System
5. Reboot To Twrp Flash Gapps

Wifi does not work on any gsi rom
I just installed Corvus GSI ROM following the above instructions, wifi works fine, almost everything works fine... only one thing is bothering me bad... I cannot adjust the brightness, it burns my eyes. I found a video on youtube in which it is said that this is something general for GSI... it's a sin! Anyway, thank you @carbon271!
I'm trying this with the Android 12 Beta 5 GSI, starting on OOS 9.0.11, but ending up in a bootloop. Has anyone else had any success with Android 12 GSIs on the 6t?
I dirty flashed a new version of xiaomi.eu stable build, and it caused TWRP to uninstall itself.
Whenever I hold power on and volume up it just goes to fastboot.
Now I tried reinstalling TWRP like I've done many times before, but it keeps throwing an error. The error I get is when trying to boot without flashing the img. When I do this, I get the error:
Code:
fastboot boot TWRP.img"
downloading 'boot.img'...
OKAY [ 1.609s]
booting...
FAILED (remote: Failed to load/authenticate boot image: Load Error)
finished. total time: 1.675s
Anyone gotten any ideas on what could be going on here? I'm scared to try anything as my phone currently works, but I need TWRP back to update my phone to a different versions and to install the clock mod again.
Thanks!
Got it to load once, but now back to square one. Throwing same error.
Now when running the command fastboot reboot recovery it's saying
Code:
fastboot: usage: unknown reboot target recovery
And writing 'fastboot boot twrp.img' turns the phone off / makes the screen go black. Fully bricked now as the OS wont load either.
Try on a computer with a USB 2.0 port, or a different usb cable, had the same issue once
Ended up having to reinstall dev rom. Device relocked, so have to wait 15 days again. @BusterBg_18 Thanks, will do when I unlock the device
EDIT: When using Mi Flash tool, make sure to check 'clean all' and not 'clean all and lock' in the bottom right. That's what set me back 2 weeks.
I have the same error. How can I fix this pls?

Hello, I've had the same problem, then flashed latest dev rom via MiFlash and it booted, but now after I flash any custom ROM in TWRP i have this issue again and need to reflash chinese ROM. How can I flash any custom rom?
i'm stuck in the same issue. stuck in fastboot and it would not load recovery. any fix?
Hi, i fixed the "Failed to load/authenticate boot image: Load Error" by simply restarting the Device.
It seems to appear randomly when flashing partitions and then block all further Transfers.
If the Device loops in Fastboot, the only Solution to me was re flashing the Stock Firmware.

I have the same Issue, but reflashing Stock Firmware or making OTA Updates dident helped for me. Ive already tried TWRP and OrangeFox without success. The Screen always turns black and Fastboot stays active in an limited Mode, any Ideas? My host Computer only has 3.0+ Ports only, but ive used an 2.0 Extender so it should be fine?

你好,我也经历过同样的事情。
这个方法帮助我摆脱它。
尝试使用 adb 从要在 hh 中安装的 rom 中重新刷新一些文件映像。
将下面的文件从 rom 映像复制到 adb 文件夹
1.system.img(adb >> fastboot flash system system.img中的命令)
2. boot.img(adb 中的命令,如#1,更改 img 文件的名称)直到 #6
3. 供应商.img
4.dtbo.img
5. 自定义.img
6. 杂项.img
7. 现在用adb刷twrp/recovery.img(选择twrp与你要安装的rom兼容)
8. adb 的“fastboot boot recovery.img”
9. twrp刷入rom

Things are changing with the advent of project treble and seamless updates. OnePlus will no longer release ROMs flashable via recovery (either stock) because is no more needed. The updates will be done on the slot not used for example if you are using slot a the update will be installed on slot b and the slot b will be set as default. If you brick and you are in bootloop how you can restore the rom? You can't with Stock ROM you have, because the zip can be only installed via Update Engine, so what can you do? Flash a stock rom via fastboot. I have extracted all images from the stock zip and i have made a new zip with the Fastboot ROM with a flash-all.bat included. This will work only if your bootloader is unlocked. This will erase all your data and will wipe your internal storage.
HOW TO FLASH
This version is only for not branded devices
Download the zip;
Unpack the zip in a folder;
Reboot the OnePlus 7T in fastboot-bootloader mode (Power and volume + and volume-);
Connect the OnePlus 7T to PC;
Run flash-all.bat flasher you need;
Wait until the process end;
The phone will automatically reboot.

REMEMBER
"Invalid sparce file format at header magic" is not an error, you need to wait a bit when you see that string, just wait.
If the device automatically reboot in Stock Recovery mode don't reboot it and wait the flash end.
These ROMs can't be used to update or downgrade your phone but just to restore your phone.
If the rom seems doesn't start go in recovery stock and follow this guideline: English -> Wipe data and cache -> Erase everything.
If you want to rebrand your phone from HydrogenOS to OxygenOS you can follow this guide: Rebrand Guide
If you want you can use also my tool to flash Factory Images, unlock bootloader, flash twrp or to understand if the device is recognized: https://toolaio.tk/

Hello! Can I flash this ROM to change from Hydrogen OS to Oxygen OS as per instruction "Rebrand guide"? Because on official website Oxygen OS ROM is not available for 7T Pro!
Can you (or anyone) post the oxygenOS build zip which I can flash via updater?

When the device reboots in recovery doesn't touch it
Silly question after returning to stock, I've tried to relock the bootloader and get a device corrupt won't boot message and the phone then turns off. How do I relock without this happening.
Wooot. Ok guys, i came from 5T and Root,TRWP and flash stock ROM was easy. Where do i have to begin, anyone can give me structured process of ROOT,TWRP?or FASTBOOT and ROM?
I had an issue earlier and begged support for the stock firmware, they sent me https://drive.google.com/open?id=171cVS9ku7rHF74Gyl1VGP3jQXAFwWDpl
For my new Redmi 9T (EEA ROM, 2010j19sy) i wanted to install an unofficially twrp recovery but i was not able to boot any non-stock recovery out on the web. I also found that other people in this forum have the same problem.
The unlock and everything else worked without problems.
This qoute from GrandTouqe describes my problem exactly:
Rename the file change nothing to me.
As information, when I try in try
Bash:
fastboot boot recovery.img
i get :
Code:
Bash:
FAILED (remote: unknown command)
in fastboot
and
Bash:
FAILED (remote: Unrecognized command boot)
in fastbootd
I've test lineage recovery and that's the same : impossible to boot on other recovery except the stock MI-Recovery 3.0 .

Hey !

But after, I can't install the unofficial ROM that I find here.
Hello guys!
I am having issues with the battery (I think it's faulty) and I just wanted to reflash the EU MIUI Stable ROM to see if it's a software problem.
Currently with unlocked bootloader (no root) EU MIUI 13 STABLE and Android 12.
What I did:
didn't remember if I had TWRP installed and flashed EU MIUI 13 STABLE via Fastboot

xiaomi.eu
linux_fastboot_update_rom.sh was successful
but now stuck in MIUI Recovery mode after every boot
I guess I had TWRP installed and this is why it got issues?
So I decided to fix it by installing TWRP first, and then flash ROM via TWRP:
found official TWRP for Mi 11 here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/recovery-11-official-teamwin-recovery-project.4374109/
installed this via fastboot: fastboot boot twrp-3.6.2_11-0-venus.img
did "Advanced > Flash Current TWRP"
stuck in TWRP Recovery mode boot
did TWRP Wipe data (since required by installing the ROM)
stuck in Fastboot mode
it might have removed by mistake /system or /persist, I just did the default Wipe Data of TWRP
Device is correctly recognized with fastboot devices but I get this error when trying to boot with TWRP:
Code:
$ fastboot boot twrp-3.6.2_11-0-venus.img
Sending 'boot.img' (196608 KB) OKAY [ 4.999s]
Booting FAILED (remote: 'Failed to load/authenticate boot image: Load Error')
fastboot: error: Command failed
Do you guys have any tip to recover the device? Any help very much appreciated
