Friends,
I want my OnePlus 10 Pro to stay on 580 DPI. But every time I reboot it resets. Does anyone know how to stop it from resetting back to, what is it 430 DPI? This is really annoying. My phone is not rooted. Thanks.
Eh, I'd wish there was a way. On the bright side, I do not restart the phone too often so that's something I can live with.
Yeah setting it manually every time is doable but annoying
This happens with more than just DPI, such as Override force dark.
This has been an issue, for what looks like, years.
I have used Tasker to force the settings I would like back on, on every reboot. There are solutions for a 'Custom DPI' on TaskerNet, which will allow you to set your DPI back to your desired value on boot.
I do not know of any other way this can be resolved
Oh that might be an idea. I'll look for it on Taskernet. Thanks.

Is there a way to stop WM6 from going to Today screen when I turn it on? I want it to just return wherever I was when I turned it off. Thanks.
I believe it only happens if you have the PIN setup, at least on my Tilt.
Nope, it happens all the time. I'm in messaging, I turn the screen off and then on and it returns to the today screen. It is incredibly annoying.
Mine does not do that.
Must be a setting somewhere because I know other people have the exact same problem.
I also own the tilt and have the same problem. It's very annoying.
It is a setting issue..
On my Tilt this works: To stop the screen from returning to the Today screen, just go to settings > Personal >Today > Items and choose the Today timeout period from the drop down list.
No dice for me. It was one of the first things I tried before anyway. Its especially annoying when I'm using PocketPlayer and I turn off the screen to save juice and when I turn it back on again PocketPlayer flickers for an instant, then it goes back to the Today screen then I have to retap PocketPlayer, then it has to redraw. Ugh!!!
Yeah,i have this same problem with my TyTn...but it does not happen on a fresh ROM...which leads me to say that it has to be a program installed that is causing it...i have a Kaiser (that is awaiting warranty replacement) on the stock ATT ROM, and it does not do it, considering, i have no apps installed...
pocketplayer has an option to stop this: disable switching to home screen
Even in PocketPlayer toggling that option has no effect on my problem. I am convinced it is a simple registry setting but I don't know what it is.
Anyone have a solution to this?
Just got a Kaiser and I agree, this is extremely annoying. I was hoping there was a registry hack to stop this.

Sure you can
Start->Settings->Today->Items->Today Timeout (Diable it).
This determaine after how much time it will display the today.
Disable it.
Enjoy,

Nope. Checking or unchecking seems to have no effect. Even when checked, turning the device off and on will immediately show the today screen, not in the 4 hrs (or whatever you have it set for) in the dialog box.
Have you tried removing the PIN Lock feature under Settings>Lock?
Aha! the pinlock was set to 0 minutes for some reason. disabling it has sorted the problem for me.

Mine is set to 60 minutes. If that truly is the fix, it isn't an acceptable one. Thanks for the info, but HTC should fix this.
its definitely not the fix. Mine was set to 15min and that's what I want it at in case I lose it. I am 99% sure its a registry setting and I am also 99% sure that I saw the fix in some forum on another site once but can't remember where or find it again.
This is apparently a common enough thing from what I've seen on line, but every solution I find involves the person having used a profile switcher or their calender to signify being unavailable. I do not use either type of program. I almost never silence my phone. (in the movie theater or similar, yes, but otherwise never) Does anyone have any idea what it could be? It;s only been happening since the OTA update to .217 ICS. It's getting thoroughly aggravating missing calls and texts, as I'm sure you can imagine... Thank you to anyone with ideas/suggestions.
Check your settings in both the system settings as well as each individual app. I think after the update the messaging app is set to silent by default, or at least the vibrate is turned off.
If the system is messed up I recommend that everyone install the ota factory reset. Clearing out your old GB data and letting the ICS run "fresh" solves a lot of problems.

Could it be a Smart Actions setting?
Settings are all fine yet it does randomly put itself on silent mode no vibration and you have to turn it back to vibration via settings volume rocker just puts it back on silent....

If it keeps happening tomorrow, I will do a full factory reset. Hoping I won't have to though. It's a pain in the rear to restore everything... It isn't a smart action thing because I have that app frozen, good thought though. Thank you all for the responses.
I tried a fr from recovery menu never froze apps nor rooted this d4 didn't help...

Update
I've found that it is only doing it with phone calls now. I cannot find a setting in the phone app or the system settings that is set to mute, but it keeps happening. Also, after using the lock screen to unmute it, I have to turn up the volume manually. The lock screen thing only bumps it up to the minimum volume level... Anything else come to mind before i do a full FR? I'd really rather avoid it if I can... Thanks again.
Now I've got one worse. Did a FR, no go. Tried to update to Eclipse, and messed it up. Had to .sbf back to factory. EVEN AFTER the .sbf, still having the same issue with it muting while recieving a call.... (i.e. goes on vibrate instead of ringing....) Any ideas ANYONE???!!?!?!?
Honestly, this sounds like a hardware issue to me. If I understand correctly, it sounds like the phone keeps going to silent (or vibrate after ICS)?
My guess after all your software troubleshooting is that your volume down key is either physically or electronically damaged, and periodically decreases itself. You might want to try remapping the volume button or something to see if that solves the problem. Of course, after that you don't have any volume buttons, which stink.
Aside, the physical buttons (power, volume) on the D4 really stink. They are very mushy and almost flush with the case, poor design if you ask me.
That thought crossed my mind also, but it only happens on an incoming call, and I can adjust the volume up and down in every app. If I don't receive a call all day, there is no problem, texts & emails work fine. I've even had a friend sit with me and text me (sound worked) then call me (muted as it received the call) and all it did was vibrate, no ringtone. I have who is it and thought it might be that, but un-installed it and no change... I'm totally out of ideas...
Thank you for the ideas, unfortunately nothing has worked so far. Any further ideas will be much appreciated. Thanks again.
Finally figured it out. Apparently it had to do with some stetting that Who Is It made. I had it set to announce the caller, which apparently doesn't work now. When I un-installed who is it nothing changed, so I re-installed it and on a whim disabled the announce feature, and it's been ringing fine since. I believe it was some sort of setting because after disabling the announcement, I un-installed who is it again, and the phone would ring without a problem. No Idea what setting it was. Thanks to veryone for the help.
So I just got a GS8. Fantastic phone. The only issue I am noticing is that when the phone enters "Do not Disturb" mode, it does not exit as scheduled. Typically it is set to turn on at 10 PM each night and turn off at 6 AM the next day. (save for the alarm that goes off at 5 AM). The alarm goes off fine. The phone, however, stays in "Do not Disturb" mode well past 6 AM and until I turn it off. Anyone else notice similar behavior? Could this result from the phone being connected to the A/C charger? I ask because when I set "Do not Disturb" to turn on and off at work it does so just fine. At work the phone is not connected to a charger.
I'm blanking on what it was, but I was running an app that was causing this issue. I've looked through my Google play library and just can't recall what it was. Might have had something to do with volume control. Start by removing anything you aren't using. If the problem persists, try removing anything that sounds like it could interact with audio or notifications until you find it. Worst case, factory reset, confirm issue is gone, then add things back until issue recurrs. I'll try again to jog my memory.

This gets weirder and weirder. So, I am coming from a Mate 9. on that phone I could set multiple Do Not disturb profiles. So I had one set for overnight (10 PM to 6 AM and one set for work hours (7 AM to 3:30 PM). Although the GS8 only allows one profile, it seems to have "remembered" the second profile. I say this because the phone went into "do not disturb" at 7 AM. I am not even sure how that's possible. I did restore apps via the google, but I cannot think of anything else besides what you are recommending. I may have to do a factory data reset as you recommend and set everything up.

You could turn off the built in Do Not Disturb and use an app like Do Not Disturb Plus to control the DND schedule.

You know, as long as I have had an android phone and I didn't think to do that. I should have. One issue I need to deal with is whether turning off the built-in Do Not Disturb disables that suspected hidden profile. If so, then I am good to go, if not, then I need to do the factory reset before using an app from the playstore (probably gives me more options than what Samsung allows).
Thanks.

Resetting the device did the trick. rather than restoring apps from the Huawei Mate 9, I started fresh and downloaded apps from the app store. A pain, but it worked. Thanks again.
I've had my P20 pro for a couple of weeks now and for the most part I'm enjoying it. I particularly love the great battery life. But one thing that's driving me crazy is that don't like a screen that shuts itself off quickly so I always keep my phones set to the highest timeout time and turn it off manually when I want to (I use a flip cover app). My old phone allowed me to set it to 30 minutes and this one allows 10 minutes which is still fine.
But it won't stay. I set it to the 10 minute maximum and it's good for a little while, maybe a few hours, and somehow it reverts itself back to one minute again which i notice when my screen goes off quickly and I have to go back in and change it. I NEVER had to change this on my old phone (Moto X Play which I used for three years) unless I just finished a major Android version update. But on this one I'm doing it multiple times/day and it's driving me crazy enough that I'm actually considering getting rid of it.
Is there any possible way to force it to leave my settings alone??
I appreciate any suggestions.
Hi, all,
I have had the Redmi Note 10 Pro for a week now. It has all the annoying issues discussed in the other threads but other than than it has been performing pretty well and consistently.
Now all of a sudden the screen is stuck at 60 hz. In Settings it says 120 but you can see it and power monitor states 60. Went to reboot a few times and alternate between 60 and 120 in Settings, did not fix it. Then I tried to change to Light Theme, just to try and see if it does anything. It does not but alternating between Light and Dark themes is a pain - you tap and it does not register, the theme remains Dark and in a few minutes it has been changed to Light in Settings but it is still dark.
Changed launchers, same thing. I will now re-install the 12.0.10.0 update and see if it does anything. I don't think anyone will have a fix for this but I am starting the topic as a tool to trace the problem and discuss with other people who will eventually stumble upon this.
P.S.: Re-installing the update did not do it. Refresh rate is 60hz and Dark/Light theme is unchangeable.
Edit: Ok, plugged in the charger, both issues are fixed. Plug out, issues are back. So some bug with battery saving which I first used today before charging earlier today. Still not sure how to fix.
EDIT2: Ok, now I read this topic I somehow missed yesterday: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...o-max-and-other-issues.4260955/#post-84822703
I am sure this happened because I disabled MIUI Optimization a few days prior to that. I have now done a factory reset and the issue is gone for the moment.
Clear data of battery and performance app, whenever this issue comes.
i downloaded this app called setedit and with that i was able to change it. After you switched to 120 with setedit, download fps counter to make sure it changes cause in the setting it will still show as 60hz
Have u disabled the "Battery Saver" option ?
