Scosche Galaxy Tab Leather Case (from TMo Store) - Review

I just picked up the Scosche case from a TMobile store.. I had to hunt around for it, most stores only had the Incipio case. A warning on that one, do not buy the incipio case, the tab that acts as a stand is held in by 2 very tiny plastic nubs and mine broke within 1 hour of owning it.

The case is extremely well built on the inside and outside, the leather is wrapped around a very sturdy frame. The case attaches to the Galaxy Tab at two main points on the top and bottom. It sort of hugs the tab, it feels extremeley secure, and no amount of shaking could free my tab from the case. All of the buttons/ports are open and every corner is cusioned from drops.
The case features a very unique method of standing up, that I find superior to any case I've tried thus far. Because the corners aren't secured to the case, the case can piviot around the device allowing the tab to sit within the grooves on the top cover. This allows it to have 3 levels of orientation, the back groove, the front grove and against the latch. The latter is preferred for typing on the device, as it places the tab at just the right angle. While angled, the device is very secure, and not wobbly at all.
There are two advantages of this case style over other cases.. one the top cover is hidden under the device while in use, and the other is that the angle can be changed, unlike most flip-out tab covers.
Finally, the case closes by 'hugging' the device in much the same way the case grips the device, there is almost no chance the case can come open accidentally.
That's all folks, if you'd like more pictures let me know! I hope this is helpful for anyone looking for a case. Right now I believe it is only available at TMo for $50. I would give it a look before spending $70+ on a similar case.

I have this case as well and love it!..I have the black leather one...They didn't have the white or carbon fiber one in stock..I've had it for almost 2 weeks and just love this case...wish I bought one for my ipad instead of the apple case!

azhad, can you comment on the signal loss you are seeing with the zenus? I have one on the way and will be very disappointed if it impacts my tabs performance. Im currently using the verizon version of the schosche case. Great feel of the leather and very slim. Ill keep using it if the zenus is a bust

I don't see any change in signal strength when I take it off, but then I'm in a good signal area.

How well does it do the flipping the front cover all the way over trick, for compact one-handed use? Kinda looks like that rigid clasp might be a bit of a problem.

Got a very similar or the same case from the verizon store only difference it came without the Scosche name on the outside , im very happy with it also.

Good review, I totally agree. There's nothing like a well thought out/designed accessory and this is one of them.

I have this case and when the cover is flipped back the little nubbin that serves as a latch actually rests nicely on my middle finger while reading one handed. It's perfectly comfortable.

For those interested, Boxwave appears to have the exact same design except in a carbon fiber type pattern. You can view it boxware dot come. Sorry can't post links yet.
I think this one is a little cheaper as well.

Thanks! I also found out that Viva has the exact same design casing (just like Boxwave, Scosche and the clones you have mentioned) and they are sold locally in Singapore.
So I would check that out, and if it's not too expensive I would get that for immediate availability otherwise I will order from hk/ebay.

Yes, I use a Sprint tab, they all have the same dimensions.

Was out shopping today and figured I'd check the cases in each of the carriers, ATT, Verizon, T-Mobile and Sprint. I saw this case in Verizon and T-Mobile (Sprint and ATT didn't have any) and although they were same configuration the leather was vastly different. The T-Mobile stored carried the official Scosche version and the leather was real nice. Soft and smooth. Definitely felt like a quality product. The Verizon did not have the Scosche logo and felt cheap; was definitely a knock-off and you could easily tell. Those looking for this style case should definitely get it from T-Mobile. Just figured I mentioned it as this case is a little pricey and you want to ensure you get your moneys worth.

The two piece hard case doesn't fit together nor fit the phone, adds a lot of bulk and makes it hard to use the buttons.

Two piece hard case? You mean the hard inner shell and the exterior silicon? So it's not made for this phone and doesn't fit?

I have an Amzer case 95157, it's a silicone polycarbonate dual layer hybrid case with kickstand. it's very sturdy and very durable. I had also but a different Amzer case it's the AMZ95207 TPU skin case cover with kickstand, however that kickstand broke after a week. But it cost me 10.77 after shipping for the tpu case. Yes, the inner hard shell is two pieces of plastic which fit loosely around the phone and also do not fit together very well which creates a "creaking" sound when handled.

Ah OK thanks. Surprising that a company which makes other decent cases would put out such a dog. Too bad, looks nice.
Nevertheless you should edit your original post saying there are "10 threads about this already". There clearly are not 10 and none for the Note II. Point is it looks like I made a recommendation without searching Didn't occur to search for other devices.

Don't know if I am over-protecting, but is there a pouch available to fit the Note 2 within a Case? I found one ebay by EEEKit, but it's to wide. Anything specific to the Note 2?

What case(s) are you using? I have the OEM Samsung Protective Cover+ and the Case-Mate Pop. I ordered the Smartphone Experts leather pouch from AC. I'd post a link, but I don't have enough posts on this board yet. Based on feedback, it should fit with these thinner cases with a tiny bit of break-in. The one criticism I found (depending on your own usage) is that it covers the headphone port, so you can't run a line out of the pouch while your N2 is holstered. I'll let you know how it works out if you don't find something beforehand, although it looks like they're holding up my order due to the iBolt Car Dock delay.

There's this heavy duty pouch that I've been eyeing for a while, but I don't know if it will be able to accommodate my Note 2 with the Seidio Active case on it.

Wow... I can't even quote someone if they have a link in their message!
I would think that even if it fit, the silicone from the Active case would make it difficult to take out / put in on a regular basis... too much friction from the elastic on the sides.

i think the swivel clip is a little flimsy, but so far it has held up well and having really had a problem with it. i figure that if something goes wrong and it does break then i will likely get the horizontal version of it (after trying warranty).

I have a bugatti slim fit. It did not fit with original samsung protective plus cover. But I managed to open up the case and now it fits perfectly.
It costed 20 euro. But it is made out of real leather.

Let us know if it works. I like this, but after looking at the dimensions, it looks like the length might not work. They state 14.5 cm and when I measure mine with a Seidio Active case it's a little over 15 cm. Right now I'm using a modified Golla Bag that I used previously for my SG3. Cut the sides added some elastic fabric and use it as a wallet and to store my phone on my belt. But my sewing skills are a bit suspect. Should of paid better attention in Home Economics in high school.

I have this one and really like it. Fits note 2 with commuter perfectly.

I have that same pouch except it's black interior. It works well. It does have some wear in it now. One of the belt loops ripped off and the inner lining is coming off. But for $5 can't beat it.

Check your local computer stores for pouches that are made for portable external hardrives. My friend got one for his note 1 and it fits perfect and it's cheap. Fits my note 2 pretty well also.

S6 Edge Bumper

Hey as title suggests, anyone know or got anything that just covers the side? I dont want anything covering the back. ATM I have the spigen ultra hybrid, when its a little more used and scratched, will probably try to cut the back panel out and see if its works

I put something similar on my iphone5 and it kinda caused rubbed marks on the aluminium on the phone when I removed it. think its best to stick screen protector around sides then use the metal frame.
but it looks good!!

Very cheap made metal. It is hard getting it on and off. I nicked my bran new phone with the edge of this bumper. Do yourself a favor and order something that won't harm your phone trying to get it on and off... I gave 2 stars because it doesn't fall out of it, and it has a nice look to it once you get it on.
I wouldn't recommend buying this item!!!

First off, this case fits perfectly and looks very nice on the phone. The reason I'm giving it a bad review is because the metal frame affects the phone's antenna. My reception was two bars worse with it on and even the Google Maps GPS was placing me half a mile off of where I really was. I almost exchanged the phone thinking something was wrong with it, until I realized it was actually the case. Too bad, because it looks amazing, but obviously wasn't tested on a functioning phone.

Don't waste your time with these metal bumpers. It blocks the phones reception to the point of making it completely useless. Yes it looks nice but what is the point if you can't use your phone? I got the black metal one with gold trim on my gold 128gb edge. I took it off 1 day later and went back to my old case.

not a fan of that one. makes phone look really cheap imo… have you got it on your phone? poss for some real pictures and not computer generated ones?

Devil Case is developing a bumper for the s6 edge!!! ( In my opinion the best bumpers on the market)

I've seen a few cases out there with a belt clip/holster, but I haven't yet seen one with a belt clip/holster AND an S Pen holder. Anyone know of any yet?

I am also looking for options for a Case with SPen Holder? I know Samsung has one, but wondered if there were any others? (I don't care for a belt clip - just want the Case with holder for SPen....?

Thanks for the feedback - I am aware of both of those - in fact I ordered the case with SPen already. What I am hoping for are some additional options - above and beyond the ones that Samsung Made. Guess we will have to wait a while until some one comes up with some additional cases.

Got my Ringke case today, feels pretty good - light and has frosted finish so no visible fingerprints, am gonna get the s-pen case later on. BTW, I compared the case to N10+ it's slightly taller but also narrower, better to slide the phone into pocket.

I recieved the Samsung Case with S-Pen today and While I don't have the phone to see how it fits and works together, I do like what I see. The SPen is securely held in place by the side of the case - easy to take out but not likely to fall out on it's own. My one issue so far is that it feels a bit slippery - fits in the hand well, but seems like it might be easy to drop it because it is a bit slippery. I will be able to tell more when I get my S21 Ultra next week.
I noticed in my FED EX account that Fed Ex has received the shipping label for the phone - which demonstrates it should be shipping soon - but it also says expected delivery is 1/27 - so I will still probably have to wait until next Wednesday. (I sure hope that things speed up and I get it early - )

So far, I've purchased an inexpensive Encased Duraclip case. It offers rather minimal protection, but it has a slide in type holster with belt clip. As these phones get bigger and bigger, pocketing a phone just doesn't work for me. If I discover one that incorporates all three things: (Case, Holster, Pen holder) I will post it. My phone says it won't ship for a couple weeks still (Bought from Samsung) so I have a little time. Thanks!

I did receive my new S21 Ultra the other day and I am very pleased with how it fits in the case I got from Samsung that included the S-Pen - The S Pen works very well but I wish it had Blue Tooth functionality. There is a pro version of the SPen coming out sometime in the future though - I will probably plan on getting that when it is released.

Did anyone find anything yet.... like soneone else said this phones are HUGE and great. A pocket is not the place for them. i would love the pen but if i cant have belt clip too then pen has to go.

can you tell me if the case is actually 85 mm wide like the specs have listed? that seems wider than it needs to be since the pen goes in the thin way

it's 84,78mm measured with a caliper. it has large curved bump so I imagine it could be a bit less wide, like 84, the spigen one looks a bit better... but yeah, it's large

It is a bit large - but honestly, I have gotten used to it . I don't even notice the size anymore. And it is nice to have the SPen available when I want it. I ordered the Spigen case but have not recieved it yet, Looking forward to comparing it to the Samsung Version

I haven't found a good clip case, but another option is to pick up one of these pen loops. Top review says only the slimmest of pens will fit. Just got mine in and it passes the maximum shakage test

there's something new ... Samsung is preparing an active pen that will probabily wireless charge.. but still no release date

I hate that I can't find it anywhere in Europe, price and shipment from the official site are just not worth it

just saw this new case on aliexpress where the pen goes into an elastic sleeve on the back

upon closer inspection it looks like they made the cutout for the note s pens since the ultra s pen is longer than where the 3x camera would be

Fits holster perfect. Pen slot was definitely made for note pens. Real tight and hard to slide pen in and out. Probably gonna have to let the elastic stretch out a bit with a regular pen.
