This kernel is fairly basic right now but does what's intended.
I've been using Resurrection Remix lately, and the only complaint I have, which is a LP problem and not this ROM specifically is that charging is very slow. I tried Yoinx's FC kernel, which charged quickly, but I felt battery life was affected by all of the performance adjustments (the way it comes by default, at least). I decided that I would build my own kernel, based on the baseline kernel sources folks are building 39a-based ROMs off of, but with Fast Charging enabled. I will be doing other adjustments moving forward, but for now the kernel is as close to stock as possible, just with fast charging added.
May I present to you... Retreat Kernel - Build 1. https://mega.co.nz/#!eUUjEarA!ErDWki4r_Zvlo942GvK3stYPQzjMu8LvejpWe8IVSpo

You're required to post a source link for GPL compliance. (To the actual code you compile)
Glad to see more people taking to building from source.
Question: Does fast charge make a difference on your phone? I tried it on 39A with Yoinx's kernel before and it made no difference. Wall chargers charged at ~1600, everything else 30a.

I haven't performed any kind of precision testing, but I can say it seemed to charge more quickly than without the mod. I wasted several hours trying to add OnDemandX to the kernel to no avail, I believe due to some recent incompatibility. As such, time I could have been testing was spent banging my head against my desk [emoji1]

Testing on Validus 8 now. Just an FYI Kernel will not boot on latest DU.
Thanks for another kernel option

No custom kernels seem to work with dirty unicorns. There must be some mismatch in the ramdisk or something in his new build.
Which is a shame because I really like DU but probably won't stay with it due to this
Nice to see another kernel. Is there support for F2FS /data /cache? And if not, would you please add/support it?

I'm not sure if op wants to try and dig into it. But if you post in yonix thread he may be willing to take a look at it to see what's missing to get the kernel to boot. Once that's done, people just need to pick the commit.
One thing I've found with this is that when modifying the Sound volume settings in Synapse, the volume settings don't seem to stick. Testing out the fast charge now

I've done nothing to adjust that setting, so it may be that it doesn't work in the default kernel sources.
To circle back to charging rates, I'm actually getting slower rates with your kernel to my BB 1.8 wall charger for some reason.
When plugged in using your kernel (toying around with Fast charge in Disabled, Enabled and Custom settings) I seem to cap at ~1000 ma using Ampere and Current Widget. I get 1600 using the stock kernel. If I can find a better USB cable I'll repeat the test with my Aukey 2.1A battery pack. YMMV I suppose, maybe my phone just hates me.

I did some testing today as well after doing more work and I'm also seeing poor charging speeds. I spent a lot of time merging diffs from a D801 kernel that supposedly fixes charging, but I evidently was unsuccessful. Idk wtf is going on. I may start from scratch and re-merge those patches to a stock kernel, in case I screwed something up somehow with the original fast charge.

He said it is as close to stock as possible..
Meaning if the phone came out of the box without it then
there is a -high- probability it will not support anything extra.

I am currently rocking crDroid's latest build with Berserk kernel and I am not facing any issues. I have been using crDroid as my daily driver from 3 weeks. Although I did face few problems you mentioned on few other ROMs. They tend to become slower overtime. I am yet to try DU and AOKP's latest build. Also I have used Nameless ROM for a long time before trying crdroid and I didn't face any issue with Nameless either. All of that is with xposed installed.

Do u use mobile data while charging?
It'll slowdown Charging like hell.. And I face lags in each and every rom after few days.. Do u use crdroid mm rom? And the latest update is 1 week old 21st May build.. Are your using that?
Shame On You
First of all, "DON'T COMPLAIN WHEN YOU ARE GETTING SOMETHING FOR FREE",
It's not imposed on you by anybody.
The kernel source which is now used is a backported one, thanks to "kuma".
This helped a whole lot of Redmi users to enjoy something(CM support) which many only dream of.
The sources are open source, you too can contribute and remove bugs.
OEMs pay devs thousands/hour in order to remove the bugs present in their firmware, even I'm ashamed that I'm unable to contribute.
You should have the common sense to know that the charging gets slowed down when using the data, the power supplied by charger gets used up by the modem/radio and little charge is sent into the battery
PS:try to feel their pain by trying to build yourself, you will have to start with the sources the worked hard on,and uploaded so that somebody can correct the mistake they might have made.
Personally I have used RR for more than 2 months, none of the bugs are serious ones(i used to have ROM,whose SysUI used to crash when ever service was not available).I use RR for the freedom it gives me, I don't like Google itself snooping on me,apps accessing my personal data, and all advanced features.

First of all I respect their work and I'm not ordering I'm just requesting.. and I know while using data charging gets slow but in our custom roms it didn't even increase 1% in 1 hour.. so please don't shout at me as I'm just sharing my issue and I already said some people will hate me after this post..so I don't mind

L.O.L. If you want the bugless rom, then go back to stock rom, man! Do not install custom rom if you wont face the bug. I have 2014813 (2gb variant) running latest cm13 official, i didnt face "lag like hell'' and slow charging. Its running so smooth and stable. It can be use as a daily driver. For battery backup? I have 6-7 hours in SoT.

For slow charging, I think you need to try another usb cable, original usb cable is very disappointed!
Charging is slow only when using mobile data.. It didn't happened in miui.. But in custom roms its slow
try custom kernel and see how it goes on
I don't think there is any charging issue like this for any MM custom roms. Charging is normal irrespective of mobile data. I have tried RR and nexus.

You mean charging is ok even data is on for you?
Why I face the issue then and why I don't face same issue in miui :/
Charging if fine. I used mobile data+created Hotspot+ playing COC. Still charged appriciable.
Must try to use a charger with higher rating. Means for current O/P.

7.0 has the uncanny advantage of still being compatible with "Night Mode enabler," which is really handy and works well on devices that support it. Is there any kind of alternative for those of us on the cutting edge (7.1) to reenable the feature without downgrading and without having to use a stuffy third-party app that unnecessarily taxes the chipset and battery?

No, I don't think that you can do it on pure stock.
Switch to a custom rom, this feature is available on more or less all roms.
Or install a custom kernel and use an app. CF.lumen works great when the kernel has proper support.
Probably for the best...

I can't stand the (awful) default screen calibration in the original kernel anyway, so selecting a different one might just be the way to go. Do you know of any good kernels with this functionality that are as close to stock Motorola as possible?
Which custom rom are you using? How's your experience with it? Which one(s) do you suggest? We want to know what you think.
used xiaomi eu rom (flashed via fastboot method ) & reverted back to stock miui , eu rom sucked for me as it felt sluggish . i am fairly new to the custom rom scene so if there's any suggestion please drop them below
i dont use any of them yet , no kernel source = less optimization
Am planning to use Evo X ROM next month or two, IMO it's probably the currently most stable custom ROM available for RN11
Since today: Evo X as daily driver!

I have flashed Evolution X. So far everything is working very well. Very stable. Charging speed is good, battery backup is also good, haven't encountered any bugs so far.
imo waiting for xiaomi to release kernel source code for better optimised roms is the way to go . OP do keep us updated bout your experience with EVO-X.
I am using this (+Magisk v25.0; since last Thursday):
SuperiorOS Unofficial | Android 12L (built on 2022-06-13):

project elixir is fast and smooth
Using DerpFest since last week, so far so good
used project elixir, crdroid and evox... Evo x is a solid daily driver... I can say I won't need any other rom ever

Great to hear that! Can I know if the Pixel experience also means that Google Photo recognizes the phone as a Google Pixel phone for unlimited backups?

As far as my experience is concerned, I would definitely rate pixel plus as one of the most stable of all. No bugs, nothing, all buttery. Though I reverted back to Leon OS all because of the stupid stock camera app as none of Anx module worked for meh
Evolution X 6.6 (July 5 Patch) phone heats up while charging (49C°+, if you're living in hot areas) maybe cuz it's charging fast in my case full charging in 40-45 minutes, except this not found a single bug in Rom using as d-driver
This is the only feature that I miss while still rocking the stock rom

I am quite sure most of them support fast charge on this chip by now. The ln8000 is the less supported one.
All of them.
