[Q] Accidentally deleted camera roll photos, how to recover

One of my friend (!) accidentally deleted all of my camera roll photos from my Lumia 720
I tried to recover them with some File Recovery Software but as Windows Phone 8 connects via MTP, not via USB Mass Storage, the recovery can't be done
I googled the fact and noticed some forum with data recovery method, but only for android. If the Phone is rooted, you can make a dump (or something, i don't actually know what that is) of the entire phone and then mount that in a drive, making you enable to recover files from that.
Is there any process for Windows Phone 8 ?
I am seriously in need to recover those photos.

take the SD card out and perform the usual recovery methods with a card reader.
There's no SD card
The photos were in Phone Memory, that's why I mentioned it connects via MTP

Unfortunately NO
recover data
Have you overwritten your lost data? If so, then the chance to recover is slim, if not, then, you can get a professional Data Recovery
cumeeting: That would probably require disassembling the phone. Not practical unless these photos are ludicrously valuable.
If you have your Windows Phone Connector software set to sync then they might still be in your My pictures folder on your comptuer, worth taking a look.
Can you take a dump of your 720? Then using whatever can you use a utility to find it inside the vhd or whatever the dump is in. That's if it had a 1:1 transfer mode that captures the whole device including the stuff that was deleted. Besides that, no one has driver level access (except MS and the OEMs) on the device to make an app to restore the pictures from the device.
It's work if you try to recover files using recuva
I am soory I don't know much about Windows phone but I know Myjad iTunes Backup Extractor for iOS and Android Data Recovery.
Maybe you can go to that website to check if they have developed a new product for Win phone.

Once you have deleted photos from iPhone you cannot restore directly from iPhone. What you can do is to recover them with a third-party progrm like data recovery software. Another condition is that you should have an iTunes backup otherwise you won't get any of your lost photos back.
Try Myjad iTunes Backup Extractor, it is a powerful software specially designed for iTunes backup file recovery which enables you to extract and recover lost or deleted photos, videos, contacts, SMS/MMS, call records, voicememos, calendars, notes and Safari bookmarks from unreadble (.sqlitedb) file.

It is possible to recover deleted photos from camera roll, take a look at this guide: Windows phone photo recovery
The guide is easy to follow and works well for me. So follow it and get back your lost photos now before it's too later.

Have you actually recovered files from the WINDOWS PHONE 8 (which OP is owner of - Lumia 720), not windows phone 7?
Not the memory card in the phone, but from the internal phone memory?
Could you share?
The guide you point to describes recovering files from memory card or WP7. The guide gives false hopes for WP8 owners, because WP8 cannot be seen as a drive on the PC.

Sorry, didn't notice it was old thread. My bad.

Recovery from Xperia Z

Hi, I moved away from my Z to Iphone 6. Although I restored my contacts through google, I am not able to restore some of my images from backup. The folder ".semc-fullbackup" (which I saved) has some of the photos I need to be recovered. However, when I open it in Image viewer (from my PC), it says "Invalid Image". Each of the image is approx 1 mb in size. Are they corrupted? Is there any chance at all to recover them?

1mb seems a bit small of a size but could be that your data is stored in parts. You can use titanium backup for your nandroid backup. For this you will need root and an android phone. Also clarify what do you mean by your recovery. How did you make your backup ?

Need to dump internal storage of P20 Pro

Hi i lost photos on my p20 pro because i used mtp method to cut / paste photos in windows. Now, there are no photos on any device. I am trying to dump the internal storage to scan later with photorec.
My P20 Pro is not root and has an EMUI 10.0.0.
Is there any possibility? I would pay a professional for this job.
Waiting for answers, thank you. Sorry for my bad English.

Can you not run photorec on the mounted phone via usb? I don't have a P20 anymore, but I'd try that 1st.

Only works as MTP device, no letter in Windows Explorer to Photorec can detected

Mi9T Pro 128 GB Internal storage capacity?

Quick question: Is the available storage space on MIUI12.5 109GB available? I can see two websites that list the Mi9T Pro as having 109GB of available storage space but just wanted to see whether this was the same for everyone else.
Reason being - I recently decided to update the newest MIUI12.5 version so the updater would stop nagging me and bumped into some MiFlash errors which I assume are due to quirks with MiFlash and USB3 (Xiaomi really needs to give MiFlash some work). Whilst my third attempt at flashing went smoothly start to finish with no errors I just noticed that 109GB is the available space with about 6GB used. The capacity of /root under Solid Explorer is 112.95GB.
My gut tells me everything is fine but that means MIUI consumers a LOT of space. I'd garner the overall eMMC is probably 117GB formatted and obviously that's not all going to be available for use but I just want to make sure I'm not missing any GBs. I'm guessing a successful MiFlash resets the storage chip anyway.
If anyone can check their partition sizes on stock MIUI and give me a general idea that everything is sized normally I'd be grateful!
If you're short on time, a thumbs up will do!

Huawei P20 Pro Data loss need help with recovery/ root/ physical image

Hello Community,
I lost some pictures and videos from the directory internal/dcim/camera while I tried to safe it to my PC. I tried to restore the files with DiskDigger but it request for root rights.
Since this issue, I have my phone on flight mode or off. It was approx. 146 Data with a total of 3,65 GB.
My Question:
1. Is there a way to make a physical image from the storage without root rights, and work with tools to recover on pc with the image?
2. Exist a way to unlock the bootloader with a minimum of write activities on the internal storage to prevent overwriting the data i want to restore?
3. Do you have other ideas to restore the deleted files?

Hello!
1. The unrooted, untouched android version all data encrypted! Only readable running system in this phone. (Before TWRP backup need disable encryption and reformat the DATA partition. Without disable, TWRP read random characters in folders.)
If use paid DC-unlocker+DC-Phoenix (unassembled phone with test-point start), available save DATA partition to IMG file. This file encrypted, not decrypt in PC.
2. If unlock bootloader, immediately delete all data this phone (factory reset).
Not available bootloader unlocking without erase data. (DC-Phoenix (paid) use temporary open bootloader for working only.
3. Without root, not have RW permission the phone. (Only DC-Phoenix save to IMG file... encrypted this phone = encryted saved IMG file.
Your files permanently lost.
