My Xiaomi Mi5 which has the misfortune of getting into BOOTLOOP
Here's some info regarding the device:
1. The bootloader is locked.
2. I forgot the assigned MI account
3. Developer mode is NOT on
4. USB debugging is NOT on
5. I can get into fastboot and recovery mode
6. I have tried using Chinese mi pc suite to flash a new rom, but it doesn't work
7. I have no further info regarding this device
Is there anyone out there who can help this poor soul? Is there any complete guide to fix this situation?
The only thing you can do in a situation like that is flash a MiUI ROM using Mi Flash, try uing EDL. You can enter it with fastboot oem edl
But even if the device does boot up you'll still face a lock requiring the original mi account login and password to unlock the phone.
flash official miui fastboot rom. something like this
https://en.miui.com/thread-3899909-1-1.html
no need of bootloader unlock, no need any debugging setting, it will be easily recoverable.
Hello,
I was running unlocked bootloader and pixelexperience rom. Today I wanted to try to flash latest xiaomi.eu and now my phone is bricked.
Steps:
Twrp -
flashed data (after that i saw that i had an error and data didn't flash)
installed rom (because i didn't see the error) - rom failed to install
flashed data again from twrp advanced option
phone rebooted and now it bootloops on mi logo. i do not have recovery nor fastboot.
what can I do in this situation? i searched the forum but there is nothing similar
You must have fastboot, check how install miui using mi flash. I use this method and working for me
When I try to boot into fastboot, it only shows black screen. The PC does not recognise it.
Also, I do not have EDL mode available..

Exact same issue, no fastboot or EDL mode. Tried updating the latest Miui 11 - Android 10 - Xiaomi EU Rom (Jan 25th) and the phone has been bricked.
Solution Deleted.
got into EDL mode using test points, but now i have edl auth error - "cannot receive hello packet"
Seems like a common problem for bricked devices and need mi account with the right edl auth privileges.
Any help welcome.
There is nothing to do, unless:
A) you find a Xiaomi Authorized account (in which case please alert us)
B) you manage to hack the EDL mode and bypass the Authorization.
Tertium non datur.
EDIT: EDL is the only chance for you anyway @Andrei221
If you had fastboot you could get into EDL by running: "fastboot oem edl", but since you have no fastboot you're only left with the test-points or an EDL-cable.

No. I've tried different things:
- trying to flash with QPST in EDL mode (9008)
- trying to flash fastboot roms with various/ancient versions of MiFlash in EDL mode (9008)
- flashing standalone modem firmwares (old ones, new ones, non-ARB ones, packed with NON-HLOS, etc.) from TWRP
- doing a MITM on the response that MiFlash & MiFlash PRO get from https://update.miui.com/updates/miotaV3.php
- doing a MITM on MiFlash and redirecting requests to old URLs (https://update.miui.com/updates/miotaV2.php, https://update.miui.com/updates/miota.php) and black-box testing them
- using MobileEdit Forensic tool to exploit the EDL firmware
*Note*: I've obviously tried all the different FireHose programmers that are floating around (including those distributed by MobileEdit).
Nothing works.
Especially trying to modify the response (if one understood its format) could very well be useless because it could be that the response from update.miui.com is validated directly by the firmware itself (like a challenge-response authentication) - this has to be verified.
The only possibility I see for now is to flash the original Xiaomi Recovery, let it connect to MiFlash Pro (choosing option n.3 from the menu), and then using IdaPro to trick MiFlash Pro into telling the Recovery to flash the phone. It shouldn't be hard, and I think it *MIGHT* offer the possibility to bypass ARB & Authentication (but I might be wrong: it might be equivalent to flashing from Fastboot). That waits to be tested.
I hope this saves y'all from wasting time.
To flash or unbrick Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite, you'll need edl authentication to use the Mi Flash tool to complete this flashing operation. An authorized Service Account is required. This is the worst part of flashing the latest generation of Xiaomi android devices. I have had this problem before with MI 8 Lite. I stuck getting these error messages "Mi Flash Tool Unauthorized for this Operation - Your Account is Unauthorized for this operation - Authorized Service Account required"
This method works only for Mi 8 Lite

Hello,
I was trying to unlock bootloader and root my device (Redmi Note 9; Mediatek processor). But even after ensuring everything required to unlock, the latest mi unlock tool (miflash unlock tool; Ver: 4.5.707.49 and even miflash unlock tool; Ver 4.5.514.47) can't detect my device while it is in fastboot mode. What is interesting is I tried with older version (miflash unlock tool; Ver: 3.3.525.23) and it detects my device while it is in fastboot mode. But after approaching to unlocking, at the end of the process (99%) it says, can't unlock device, please go to https://en.miui.com/unlock/ and try with the latest version (where it should grant me few hours to wait until I become eligible to unlock it. I've ensured the followings:
I've installed all the required drivers (xiaomi, usb, ADB, fastboot, qualcom)
Enabled OEM unlocking and USB debugging on the device in developer option
I've bind the phone (in developer option>> mi unlock status) with the same mi account the phone is bind with
I've logged in the mi unlock tool with the same mi account
I've tried with the latest mi unlock tool and even with the older versions
my PC is a 64 bit windows 10 installed intel PC (I've heared ADM pcs' causes problem sometimes)
Disabled signature driver enforcement
Restarting the device and computer multiple times
Re installing drivers over and over again
What's going wrong or what wrong am I doing? Can anyone please help?
Try selecting the driver manually by yourself.
Go to device manager, and try to update it.
After it, select anything like "android bootloader" in list.
Good luck

You can check in device manager. Your phone should be on the top. If it is in portable devices then you can select it and then click on update driver manually.
After doing it go to platform tools folder(if you have them), type adb devices
If you device serial number is shown then its good to go.
If it is showing unauthorised then type the command
"adb reboot bootloader"
Now it will be authorised

My device shows the 'serial number unauthorised', but when I tried the 'adb reboot bootloader' & 'adb devices' nothing is listed.
Thanks

All good now 'serial number device' is now shown after the phone restarted.
But still the Mi Unlock ver 6.5.406.31 software does not enable the unlock when in fastboot mode.

When in fastboot mode
Type 'fastboot devices' in cmd and then you'll be able to see if you have proper drivers installed
Note : adb and fastboot are not same
'adb devices' command will never work in fastboot mode and same is for 'fastboot devices' when device is booted

understood..
I followed this guide https://new.c.mi.com/global/post/101245
"You have already done that on the phone, so you should get Phone connected message on Mi Unlock. If you get Not connected to the phone message, reinstall Mi USB driver and try again."
Currently device is using winusb.sys driver, ran (Mi Unlock ver 6.5.406.31) MiUsbDriver & xiaomiwinusba64.cat, but still Windows 11 keeps using winusb.sys driver...for some reason.

Hello,
I buy a Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra to Tradingshenzen.
I try to update in 13.0.13 EU.
Since it stuck in fastboot mode loop.
Bootloader is lock.
USB debug is off.
I can't access with ADB.
I try to flash it with MiFlash 2022.5.7, don't work ( Erase is not allowed in Lock State).
I heard about EDL fastboot mode but It seems to need a specific software to generate a code to unlock, so i don't know what to do.
Sorry for my bad english...
Try to unlock bootloader .
Apply for permissions to unlock Mi devices
en.miui.com
Some useful info , here it says that it's possible to apply for EDL auth.

I can't unlock bootloader in my Mi Max 2. I've tried to use different methods, but it doesn't work. All of Mi Flash Unlock tools recognize my phone which is connected to Mi account, drivers are installed, but Unlock button is not active,
