Hello, you Gods in the mobile development world!
IN about 8 days I will get an Xperia X2 from my company and from what I saw when I searched around on the wonderful World Wide Web, is that this phone has some really annoying errors.
And as a person that have been useing the HD2 for some time now, this probably will be the end of whats left of my nervs...
Anyway, as for the question;
What happens if I try to use a X1 ROM developed by you guys? Willl the Failtrain end in a BRICK wall? Or is there any chance of success? Is there anything I can do to increase the chances for a victory? <- Apart from the obvious, just **** in trying to do something about it and wait for an official update aka move on with my life... (or maby throw the phone out in the snow?)
I'm Willing (of course) to tell u whatever information you need about the phone.
There must be other like me- that have tryed or is willing to...?
Any Cabs that work?
Maby someone could post a sticky for stuff that work on the X2?
Cheers mates!
mm.. and sorry for the spelling. English is my 3rd language and speaking is one thing.. typing somthing els!
Maybe I should simply send it to any of you ROM developers....
Why are you calling it the failtrain?
Why would you want an x1 rom with outdated stuff on an x2 any way?
And the x2 will get custom roms too (any time when it gets hard spl'ed)
Just wait .. dont throw it in the snow and if you plan on doing that might as well sell it on ebay?
You could just stick with the hd2 any way its better in everything. (Ok no hardware keyboard)
Hi, i'm an X2 owner and i'm also inclined to call it the failtrain. I've been lurking here a short while but i've not really seen many of its issues documented. Or probably i've been lazy and missed it.
I've not much time to detail its issues now, will just point out some main points. The biggest grouse any X2 owner will have is that the software just feels so glitchy. My phone was hanging on the lock screen. I.e. after locking my phone, it will without fail, at least once a day, crash while on the lock screen. There is no fix except to take out the battery. After hard resetting via battery replacement, you've gotta reset it once more to clear the error completely.
Daily.
I've seen some other users bring up the fact that the screen does not wake up upon receiving text messages. Oh and even the text message alert can hang, i.e. half of it will play, and end abruptly. When you next do an action involving any alert sound, the remaining part will play as well.
If this doesnt reek of an incomplete product, i don't know what does.
I've reset my phone via SEUS. It is the same firmware version as what was in the box, though having done that the phone lock problem has stopped, so far.
But this phone does show a lot of promise. As a former X1 user, the X2 surely is a step in the right direction, in terms of polish and interface. Of course this assumes that SE gets its act together and push out decent firmware, of which there is no news.
Until then, the X2 is quite the disappointment.

I rather be using a working rom instead of a phone so full of glitches that its almost inpossible to use on a daly basis..
Well. Ill just have to wait for those hard spl's...

Yes they are:

Two major updates.
Thx doministry.
To bad that it takes SE that long to upgrade the phone to 6.5.2 and 6.5.3 ...
I'm getting realy tierd of all these phone companys pumping out phones and then just stop updating there softwere- exept that ****ty phone from that plastic-design company with a fruit as there trademark.. and maby HTC that seems to be a more reliable company for each year that passes. (Well.. maby its just me..)
Well, it's not really necessary to throw in on the snow or sell it somewhere. Just keep it in your locker room or somewhere safe and get back to it until XDA and ROM Chefs start to put a special thread here.
It's Microsoft's Windows Mobile anyway and not Toyota.
id suggest that when you get your X2, have a quick play with it and see what you think. but then put it away until march when the first update comes out. its a pretty good phone but judging by your first post i doubt you could put up with the few bugs that are still present.

Well... if it had been made in Japan you could have fixed it with glue... (There is a Swedish saying: if you can not fix it with tape or glue - then it's not worth repairing...)
Still thinking about that pile of snow.......

Ahem, sorry,
but's not a SE only problem!
WM 6.5.3 was announced officially few days back,
so apparently there's no device yet on market with this 6.5.3 (I mean device available, not just announced)
Hi guys! A friend at work introduce me to you and you guys rule! I have right now an HD7 wich i really like as hardware and also a my touch 4g wich i like only as software. I have to return one before the 30 day period and i was wondering if any of you know if wifi hotspot and wifi calling will eventually come to winphone 7 or if you think it will not make it for a while. That will help me decide which one to keep.
thank you!
only thing we know for sure in the next update is cut and paste, the rest is speculation, if you can't live with those features the 4g is your phone
Thank you for your comments!!!

I saw that the guys found a way to tether the Samsung Focus and the LG Optimus, so I keep my hope they'll find a way to do it with the HD7.

As you can see I'm new here but been browsing for agesss.
I used to have a HTC Hero a few years back and rooted it and eveything simply. but then got an iPhone 4 and forgot everything about backing up on android because with Apple you just use itunes
but got really bored of it and now switched to a HTC One :victory: but I've had it for a few weeks and customized it to my liking with a decent number of apps on it also so really dont want to start from scratch again. I got a nexus 7 also but there was a reliable root tool for that when I got it from the start so that was pretty straight forward as I could do it out ofthe box.
Now I feel like a complete noob again as I was pretty handy with androids when I had my HTC One but it seems Apple has brainwashed me and I've totally forgotten everything :silly:
So yeah straight to the point, is there any way to do a full backup of apps, data, music, pictures, and all settings before I unlock the bootloader and root it? Please keep it simple or explain it thoroughly
Thankyou for your help guys :victory:
You got htc sink in settings account that will do all your data and stuff Google should do the apps or in the Google play you got carbon

Hi thanks for your reply! Thats a massive help.
I have another question, I'm going to be using the All-in-One toolkit I'm from the UK so Im not going to be using the AT&T one or the Sprint Toolkit, my One is locked to O2 UK so could I just use the M7 toolkit?
Just received my free white S5 G900A from Samsung Insights. Getting used to it coming from Note 3. I was wondering if there are any fellow S5 owners that got their phone thru this program? If so, have you completed your 6 months? Did you root and have no problems with the app or Sammy telling you to unroot? I had asked if I could root and was told it's prohibited, so wanted to hear from any others who rooted and completed their time. Tia and looking forward to being part of the crowd.
i got my s5 ( t-mobile gs5 ) in august through the insight program
even before installing the app i rooted and flashed a stable rom and then installed the insights application
no issues here till now
i am close to my 6 months and then i will ask them if i can remove the app ( which i can according to the contract )

Seems from feedback I've gotten, I messed up and immediately installed the app and then sent an email asking if I could root. I should have rooted and ROMd before I installed the app and not bothered to ask. My bad.

yes you shouldn't have asked them
has anyone here with t-mobile got the survey recently and got a phone? Thanks
Just a note for anyone past or nearing the end of their 6 month commitment. Mine was up in December and I expected to hear something from them about being done, but didn't. So today I inquired.
Basically the deal is this: when your 6 months is up I'm sure they'd love you to keep providing data. If you want to uninstall the app after your 6 months, email them and they will give you an exit survey and the code you need to uninstall it, but as long as you stay active (keep the app running) you will remain eligible for any surveys and associated giveaways they send out, so there is a little incentive to keep it.

exactly
this is what i got today
" If you prefer to have the application removed, we can send you an exit survey which will have the application removal instructions and the passcode. Please note, only those who remain active in the program will continue to receive surveys throughout the year for upgrades or accessory offers. "
i think ill stay by keeping the app ..though i keep changing the ROMS
the problem is when i tried a cm12 rom with android 5.0 - flashed the insights app and restored through titanium - the insight freezes when i try to open
i guess its not yet compatible with lollipop
so i had to revert it back to the 4.4 rom

I received a white S5 as well 2 weeks ago. I rooted the phone via towelroot immediately then I installed safestrap then backed the phone up. I installed the Insights app the next day and it's been running flawlessly ever since. I haven't flashed any rims yet so I'm stock odexed but I did add xposed with a couple mods. So far so good and not a peep from Sammy.

Email [email protected] and tell them you're interested in the program. They'll email back for a referral. That's where it gets tricky. More requests for referrals than there are available. I gave out 18 before Samsung told me to stop.
Does anyone have a referral? I finally got my email asking for one to be accepted but I need a referral. Thanks!

DO NOT INSTALL THE APP until you've made the choice to root and rom or not. Battery life on stock was s#*t for me before changing roms. 5 hours 100% to 30% with 2 hours sot. Now, most days it's lasting all day. I still miss my Note 3 and will be going back as soon as contact here is up. If it's branded AT&T, it's bootloader locked.
