i need help regarding oneplus 10 pro ne2210,,,i erase modemst1 and modemst2 after this the baseband was unkown also my fingureprint just vibrate ,,,please help me regarding this,,,i already tired flash msm official to color os 12.1 and after this update it using build in updater but still the baseband was unkown and also persisit issue ,,,,,,,
Sounds like you erased some nonvolatile data in the modem partition(s) that can't simply be restored because the data would have been specific to your device.
Question, why did you erase the modem images (rather than flash over the existing ones)? Why were you even meddling with the radio/baseband images??
I havent flashed a radio/modem since like, the days HTC were the top dogs, like, forever ago. Changing radio/baseband/modem will not improve signal strength, also won't enable any new frequencies or radios to function. Be glad you didn't flash an incompatible radio. Brick city.
Please explain the reasoning behind erasing modem images? Or even if you were flashing/cross-flashing images, would you mind explaining why?
Unfortunately, unless you have a good TWRP backup of those partitions (not the images), you will not likely be able to fix this. IIRC there was a somewhat similar issue back in the days of LG V20, but it won't be of any help in your case. Sorry to give such grim news. But please for others to learn from this, let us know what you were trying to accomplish

The only way would have been to backup with TWRP before trying to change, is what I'm saying. We do have TWRP unofficially available (with some issues creating good backups at times). Sorry this happened to you
Have you fastboot flashed the modem images back in just to see if it helps? I'm assuming you have tried and it did not help. But if indeed there was device-specidic non-vol data there, it is unlikely to be restored. I wish I had.more answers but this is a unique case.

And fastbootd cannot flash some partitions, the success you see is a failure
To fix the issues you're having you need to flash a persist.img file from another OPlus 10 Device. I've seen that this works from some other users, not sure how well as I'm not entirely sure if this persist file is device specific entirely or not. But it should fix your issues, if you can find and flash a legitimate persist.img file, there's a few floating around on here.

Currently Ian in stable 8.2 ROM...I've got a suggestion to change to Dev ROM ..Will it improve the sound. And void my warranty??Or is there anything else I can do without flashing any ROM thank you

You said "poor" audio in the title and "low audio" in the description. I have a fix for both cases. Switching between official ROMs does not void warranty, but I am not sure on their policy for root.
1. From the low audio output, I gather you are using the Global ROM (Dev/Stable) which uses a different audio configuration file as the China ROM (Dev/Stable). To fix this you will need to temporarily root your phone and replace the audio config from the Global ROM with the China ROM's file (which I'll attach) located in root/system/etc called mixer_paths_tasha.xml. If you do not want to root your phone then you have to use the China ROM.
2. If Audio quality is not up to par, you have to systemlessly root your phone, install Magisk, install the Viper4Android module and mount it, and then the Viper4Android app. From there you can tinker with the settings to set your specific headphones up to deliver the best sound they can.
Edit: It seems that the ROM from Xiaomi.eu already contains these changes. I recommend you try it and see for yourself.

Thank you so much but to install China ROM also I'll have to unlock my boot loader right ... Ian not sure about the policy of xiomi now if they don't provide warranty after boot loader unlock
The quality and volume both are too low not just for a flagship but even a moderate smartphone

You don't need to unlock your bootloader to switch between any of the official ROMs (Global Dev/Stable or China Dev/Stable) The Mi5 actually have some of the loudest output I have ever heard from a phone and is powerful enough to power my full-size headphones, but for some reason the output is limited in the Global variants by default. You can read all about the audio output of the Mi 5 on the China ROM here: http://www.gsmarena.com/xiaomi_mi_5-review-1411p6.php
So, if you want to keep things stock and have a great audio experience; without any rooting, bootloader unlock, or voiding of your warranty - your only option is to switch to the China ROM and sideload the Play store. Here's what you have to do:
1. Go to http://en.miui.com/download-299.html#435 and click on the "Download Full ROM" button (either would work, you can choose whether you prefer Dev/Stable).
2. Copy the file to the internal storage of your phone.
3. Open your updater app.
4. Tap the three dot menu in the upper right corner of your phone.
5. Select "Choose update package" and navigate to the file.
6. Update your phone.
After the reboot you should be on the China ROM with the correct audio settings. Just Google how to sideload the Play Store on MIUI as there are plenty of guides available and you should be fine.
Since you're new to the Mi 5 community, I bid you welcome, and hope I have solved your problem :highfive:

I think you can't switch between china and global with "Choose update package" method.
Weird, mine came out the clearest though a bit quiter compared to my Lg g4 and htc 10 which is way louder. If low output is your concern yes, many review reports low volume output on 3.5mm jack on mi5. You might want to consider usb c audio

You can, I've done it before myself. I imported my Mi5 with China Stable and used this method to switch to Global Dev as soon as I got it. Then I waited for my unlock code from Xiaomi and used a plethora of ROMs since, and recently started using Xiaomi.eu Weekly after they included heterogeneous processing which made MIUI much, much smoother to use.

I think what he is expecting is just low output, unless he uses super sensitive earphones which picks up noise much more easily.
The Mi5 has the best audio of any phone I've used so far, and it is very loud with the above mentioned modifications (and "okay" without it). As far as I know noise increases if you drive the DAC/pre-amp harder, so louader audio = more noise, but according to independent tests the Mi5 handles it extremely well.
USB type C audio is very unnecessary when the Mi5 has such a powerful quality driver, you just need to give it the right config file.

Glad it worked for you Just keep in mind some Viper4Android processing can end up adding to the noise levels. It should be unnecessary if you have good earphones that matches your taste in music, but it's nice to have to have the option.

You should try updating multiple times, the updater app is buggy (just like the crappy MIUI suite that never works properly). If it still doesn't work you should apply for a bootloader unlock code (you can relock at any time, so don't worry). Then you'll be able to use MiFlash or TWRP, they actually work.

Keep in mind that it might take up to three days after your unlock code has been approved to actually work. If you still have trouble after that, it's the USB driver for Xiaomi devices that doesn't allow unlocking your bootloader on Windows 10. You have to uninstall the USB driver, use PnP to install it again, wait for it to update, and then do a rollback.

Glad you finally got the experience you paid for :highfive:
That's why I always appreciate good hardware, and Xiaomi makes it affordable and accessible to everyone. If you don't have nice headphones already, you should check out the Xiaomi Hybrid Pro HD's. It goes great with the MI5 and I really enjoy this combo, without any tweaking.
Keep in mind the Mi5 is a bit of a fragile phone that bends easily and has it's frame dented from the lightest bumps (at least that can be replaced) so you should probably get a case and/or screen protector.
Edit: Oh and about the sound difference between the ROMs: I think it comes down to complying to international standards and to prevent hearing loss. I know China doesn't have such strict regulations and Xiaomi might just be playing it safe in other largely unknown markets. The quality of the sound is just as good, it's just the loudness that's been altered.

Xiaomi built it's business on top of its modding community and fan base which is why it has one of the best around.
If you're happy with your headphones there is no need to change it. Mi Sound Enhancer sounds **** even with Mi earphones so you're not missing much in that regard.
Edit: I've just tried Mi Sound Enhancer after not using it for a long time, and it definitely improved a lot. I'd say it now slightly improves the listening experience, but only by like 5% and if you have one of the headphones on the list.

There is almost no information on GNSS. It probably has Galileo given that the previous generation of Huawei phones did - but some preview sites say yes others no.
The Broadcomm BCM4775x dual frequency (L1 L5) chips were predicted to lead to smartphones with < 1m GNSS accuracy this year. So far there are only two devices that have been seen in the wild and the only phone is the Exynos (EU and parts of Asia) version of the Samsung S9 Plus. Samsung has not announced or documented it or provided any interface in their software and in the relevant xda thread, the owners have not yet been able to confirm that the L5 signal is accessible .
The previous generation of Huawei phones used the Broadcomm GNSS chip prior to the BCM4775x series. We probably won't know what the p20 pro is using until there is a teardown.
If the leakers are to be believed the only two brands that will not use Snapdragon/ Qualcomm SOCs in their flagship phones this year are Huawei and Samsung. As Broadcomm and Qualcom are archrivals/ probably incompatible, Huawei would seem to be the best hope for dual frequency cm accuracy in a phone this year.
Anyone know any more?
It' a shame for a new SOC but no galileo on Kirin 970
http://translate.google.com/transla...é-galileotap-to-wakedolphin-résolu/&sandbox=1
https://www.usegalileo.eu//FR/inner.html#data=smartphone
Even if the p20 pro is not Galileo enable, the most important is it dual frequency capable? Coz gps, glonass and beidou are not few also

The binaries on the P20 vendor partition are for BCM4774 as on older phones.
It supports Galileo (you must download LTO from the internet), but is L1-only.

Thanks! When I tried to download the leaked firmware for the p 20, it was 8 Gb unpacked and I had to give up looking inside. Just for the record, if you did the work of finding BCM4774 evidence in the partition (thank you) would you be so kind as to give us a little more detail - even some code snippets if possible (like the xda ers who found and posted firmware evidence for the BCM4775x in the Samsung s9+ - Exynos version).
As you imply and as I understand it, the BCM4774 supports Galileo. But when various people have run GPStest and similar software on various phones, my (limited) understanding is that the phones were getting fixes without an internet connection. I am confused and less informed that I need to be, but do you think that P20 users would need an internet connection to get a Galileo fix? (or are you just saying that it would be a better fix?).
When you say "you must download LTO from the internet" I assume you are referring to the LTO in the following quote from https://www.broadcom.com/products/wireless/gnss-gps-socs :
"In addition to the GNSS receiver chips, Broadcom provides Assisted-GNSS (A-GNSS) and Long Term Orbits (LTO) services. These services are provided from highly reliable cloud-based servers that are fed from a proprietary World-Wide Reference Network (WWRN) stations that collect world-wide GNSS satellite data."

Ifixit now has a teardown which confirms the presence of the BCM4774. I put the comment below in Step 10:
Not highlighted is the GNSS Location Hub BCM4774IUB2G above and to the left of the BCM43596 (green). This means that provided the software/ firmware is amenable, this phone should make use of signals from the Galileo satellites (https://www.broadcom.com/products/wirele... ). This is something that different websites and Huawei itself have been inconsistent in reporting.
I tried GPS Satellites Viewer yesterday evening, and it showed me 3 Galileo Satellites without the download of anything. I tried it in the morning again and now I do not find any Galileo satellites... its strange.

Many apps do not show Gallileo. GPSTest by barbeauDev works.
But it takes a little bit longer until the Gallileo satellites appear in the list.
Hello everyone.
I recently had an unfortunate accident with my phone(dropped into water) and as result my display is not working anymore. As I connect the phone to computer it's working, and also adb can connect it.
My question:as my display is out of order,is any way I can test my GPU for normal operation using an computer, because I do not want to buy a new display and find out later that also my GPU have problems.
I am an K20 pro user with EU rom installed.
Best regards.
I don't think the gpu is having problems cause it lives on the same chip as cpu, isp, dsp, modem etc & if it's not working then others won't be working too as you wouldn't get a connection from pc like adb etc which you're getting as mentioned in the post..
Thus most likely it's a display or cable fault.
No way to test it at home, take it to a technician
Thanks for the answer.
Best regards.
Hi all,
not sure I'm in the right place to post this. Yet, I'm very interested in the soli sensor and it's working.
I got the device rooted and got access to the API (not so difficult) thanks to some posts here in the forum. Yet, it seems the classification algorithms and raw data is completely locked down in a nanoapp.
Does anybody have more info about the nanoapp used for the soli sensor?
Really want to record the raw data and see what the sensor is capable of. (given the early publications I think it's much more powerful than what they use it for right now).
Anybody with qualcom hexagon experience here or pointers were to start?
the nano app seems to be in /vendor/dsp/sdsp/oslo.so ... yet not sure how to continue from here. Basically I just want to record the raw data from the soli radar in a file
I'm also interested into the data we can obtain from that sensor - it seems a better idea than buying infineon chip and do all the wiring. Did you manage to get the raw data somehow?
short update: I decompiled the microapp, yet not much success ( not an assembly hacker). I think it's easier to buy the hardware chip.
The problem seems that the Infineon 60 Hz chip they are using is not up for sale yet.
If you have more info (also other comparable chips), let me know. I know 2 other researchers working on it and will ping here if they find out more.

Hi,
I'm also interested in how to get the raw data of the soli radar. Could you tell me how to get access to the API or what post did you refer to? Thanks a lot.
(I've got my Pixel4 rooted.)
Hey anyone else with this phone to start testing new stuff on it?
Got the Chinese version. Flashed the global firmware and changed the channel to reteu with working OTA's.
Will write a guide in the coming days, feel free to ask me about anything you want to know.
I just received the phone, seemed like a store here had a issue allowing me to get the phone early.
If you've got questions, let me know. I do seem to notice a bug with the screen refresh rate set to "auto". It wont go up to 144hz by itself and at low display brightness it seems to stay on 90. Forcefully setting it to 144hz does work wonderfully though.

Do you have the global version? Would be great if you could take three pictures in pro mode with everything set to auto and DNG enabled. (One from each lens). My model produces weird raw results for the main camera, I just want to make sure that it is software related.
You can also see in the viewfinder that the main camera seems to be way less contrasty and saturated than the other lenses.
Also: what's your build number / software version?

Does Google Pay and NFC work correctly? Is the chinese hardware exactly the same as Global this time?

Just checking resellers. You can get the chinese version flashed with global rom already on Aliexpress for £599 for 256gb. Cheapest you can get chinese version that you will need to flash yourself is £530 and that's 128GB only. So might be better to buy it already flashed. Moto UK you can get 10% of for official version which is £675
Hi

NFC is toggleable and Google Wallet opens without a problem. As I have never used Google Pay before I dont know how to test it.
I would not buy a flashed version to be honest. If you want a converted phone you should do it yourself to learn what you are doing and maybe be knowledgable enough to handle problems when they arise.

You can get your firmware from Lenovos / Motorolas Rescue and Smart Assistant:
Rescue and Smart Assistant (RSA) - Lenovo Support DE
support.lenovo.com
Use the rescue function with your phone plugged in, start the download and you can unplug the phone.
Firmware can be found at "C:\ProgramData\RSA\Download\RomFiles" after the download.
Would be great if you could share the zipped Firmware with us. Maybe on Google Drive or mega.
These zips dont contain any personal information.

Can confirm that for me the main camera also produces weird results in pro mode with raw output. The output also seems to be way more dull than what the view finder suggests.
New full software Motorola Edge 30 Ultra
EQS_G_S3SQ32.16_16_28_subsidy_DEFAULT_regulatory_DEFAULT_cid50_CFC.xml
3.3 GB file on MEGA
mega.nz
How i can update this firmware if i have installed Magisk ( root )

Okay thats good for all of us imo. I already contacted Motorola's camera team about the issue, hoping they'll fix it.
@onken: Thanks for the upload! I am not 100% sure but in theory:
1. Patch the new boot.img from the new firmware via magisk on your phone.
2. Put it into your new firmware folder and name it boot_magisk.img
3. Open the flashfile.xml and copy paste the contents into this website.
4. Reboot to fastboot, open a cmd window in your firmware folder and use the fastboot commands from the website but SKIP "fastboot erase userdata".
5. Reboot into fastboot and flash boot_magisk.img to keep root.
Maybe you need to skip the other "erase" commands as well, not quite sure.
Does anyone happen to know why oem unlocking in developer options is greyed out?
Might be related to your purchase date. I've read that sometimes people need to wait 7 days before it is available on other Motorola phones. Might also be available after factory reset.
I think must wait 96h, about 5 days
Possible work fasted if reset to factory ?

Damn, that's ridiculous. I guess I have to wait for a little while, already tried factory resetting twice.

I think its related to "Widerrufsrecht" or whatever its called in other EU countries. You could unlock, decide that you dont like the phone and just return it and noone would probably check if the warranty is void.
Here is an official Motorola post on the issue. Sometimes takes up to a week.
Edit: But on the other hand, unlocking your bootloader can not void your warranty in the EU afaik.
