Hello
Is there any custom rom for the a336b with no bugs? i'd really like to mod my phone bc oneui sucks ass.
Thanks
If you have ONE UI 5.0 , not 5.1 or 4.1, you can install TWRP* and a lineage GSI. Guide, shoutout to Privacydroid.
P.S. The working TWRP is beneath his first post.*
P.S.S. Remember to only use it if you have One UI 5.0, I tried installing it on 5.1 and I got softbricked.
P.S.S.S. No offence, but I dont think youre allowed to swear on the xda forums.
Thank you, is there any way I can downgrade OneUI 5.1 to 5.0?
Yes, so you have to unlock the bootloader, and then you got to this link. Choose the firmware with PDA .
A336BXXS4BWA1
I assume your CSC is EUX, if its not just change it. If you dont have the March patch you dont have to unlock the bootloader but i would do it anyways because you have to do it to install TWRP and Lineage GSI.

I am new to the xda developers and a bit confused about the procedure of flashing new mm rom.. want to experiance the stock android 6.0 as we are still stuck with the kitkat 4.4.
while visiting the cm13 thread i saw in the instructions that we need to unlock the bootloader in order to flash any of the mm roms,
I have already reuested on miui for unlocking my bootloader but came to know that it may take around 15 days,,
feeling a bit confused about the whole process,

xiaomi mi3
The Mi3 and Mi4 are not "stuck on 4.4" for a very long time now, and the Mi3 and Mi4 never had a locked bootloader.

ohh thanks for clearing my confussion bro....and i was talking about the official miui rom which is still based on 4.4.
so that means i can just follow the normal procedure and flash any of the mm roms..?
To get new partition scheme, install latest china dev rom (MM) with MiFlash.
http://en.miui.com/a-234.html
After this you can install TWRP and any rom.

You can either install the Miui MM chinese-dev ROM, or search for "cancro CM Baseband" and follow instructions, that will repartition your device, update baseband and install latest twrp. After that you can flash any ROM. Personally i use Ressurection Remix MM v5.6.9 and i'm very satisfied
can someone make a rom(Android 9.0) for the locked bootloader version of Honor 9 lite?

Sorry bud but you cannot install any ROM with a locked bootloader, you'll have to unlock it.
Currently there are 2 pie ROMs for our phone cypher os and static os. There are also several other treble ROMs out there. Also you can also get ROMs for Hi6250.
You can only get official updates with a locked bootloader. Considering the fact that emui 9( Android pie) is still in beta for most of Huawei's flagships, we'll have to wait a long time before we even get the beta ROM.
So for now you can use treble ROMs or there are Android pie ROMs in the development section.
But you'll need to unlock bootloader
Hey, fellow members. I'm a complete noob. Well, not exactly. I have rooted a few of my older phones and flashed custom ROMs but I have no idea how to root my current phone. I've been trying to find a perfect solution ranging from Youtube videos to our own forum threads but I guess I am not really good at searching. I'd be really grateful if someone could give me a step by step guide to rooting my phone and IDK, maybe unlocking the bootloader (if that's required) and then flashing a new Pie ROM. I'm using XT1084 Stock Oreo 8.1 with the latest security patch. Your help will be much appreciated. Thank you!
Unlock bootloader first
For rooting, installing custom roms. You need to unlock bootloader first via fastboot using ur PC. Search the thread for bootloader unlocking process. And then download and install TWRP. Join telegram group http://t.me/g5splus for custom roms and all stuffs
This might help you.
Bootloader unlocking and Root
My current ROM (LineageOS 16 unofficial)
Thank you so much for providing help. I'll try these out and revert back on my success.

I do have another question. I'm currently using Pixel Experience 9.0 which is supposedly a TREBLE ROM. I want to switch to Bootleggers 9.0 which isn't TREBLE. Will there be a problem if I flash a Non-TREBLE ROM on a TREBLE Recovery? I'm using TWRP TREBLE. I know I sound a little foolish especially with the rubbish nomenclature but I hope that everyone is able to comprehend my words and possibly even figure out a solution for me.

Nevermind.
Got it.
It doesn't make any difference whether I use TREBLE or Non-TREBLE TRWP for flashing a Non-TREBLE ROM.
Hello people as the title states I recently purchased a note 9. I wanted to get the N960F model but when it arrived, to my surprise it was a N9600, which is no problem for me because snapdragon is a good thing, the only downside is the fewer development.
Anyhow I have some. Questions and I would like to hear your recommendations As I'm waiting the 7 days for the OEM unlock to appear.
1. Should I update the system? My n9 came with Android 8.1.0,but I don't know if I update it would be detrimental for the sake of rooting
2. Is this model rootable? I believe so but could you direct me to the thread on that regard.
3. Would you recommended self de bloating with TB or try WETA Rom?
4. What would you suggest: stay on stock + root or WETA Rom?
5. I've seen a lot of pie complains so should I stay on Oreo or give Pie a try? I come from the OnePlus3, I'm a former flashoholic XD and 'til my last moments with the OP3 I had HavocOS which was pie based, thus I'm hesitant to look back to Oreo.
6. This should be 1st but anyway do I need to unlock the bootloader or something special before rooting and installing twrp?
7. I've read that development for the SD version is difficult and that AOSP Roms are stuck because of gpu frequencies and other stuff, but do you think that this version will receive some. More loving from the development department in the future?
Thanks in advance guys and I appreciate your time in reading and for any suggestions you may give.
yes
Just like exynos, the bootloader is unlocked and you can always root it, version does not matter, pie , oreo. and yes you can also run all the GSIs on the phone cause its a Treble enabled device which helps a lot with roms and i think there will be much more roms for n9600 as well as soon as it ages a bit and people start rooting them. You could install WETA ROM or any other ROM / Kernel, Rooting is same as Exynos model except the TWRP has to be for Snapdragon

Thanks mate, in terms of rooting, should I use official magisk of a custom one?
On the twrp thread for the SD variant people mention the official. They just recommend versions 18.1 for Oreo and 19 for pie, is that alright?
And if I update my firmware and software over Ota before rotring and installing twrp, will it be a problem?

Any P custom rom. I'm on Ambasadii. There is also Ultimate.
Which variant are you using? N960F or N9600?
I know on the N9600, you can Odin atleast 3 versions back before the bootloader blocks it from going lower.

You need P kernel for P rom.
Q kernel for Q rom.
Q bootloader for Q rom.
Q bootloader is bootable for P rom, so it doesn't matter if you can't downgrade. You mentioned that the phone has twrp, so just flash a P rom if you don't want Q(but of course custom rom only, not official).
I upgraded my phone's booloader to android 10(baseband XXU4DSLA) before I flash SuperStable rom(android 10) but a bit buggy so restore back nandroid backup of Ambasadii(android 9). So my phone is now with andorid 10 bootloader but Pie rom

Are you able to provide me with a copy of your nandroid backup? I'm willing to try anything to get back on the pie bootloader and a pie ROM. I'm almost to the point now where I am wanting to sell this phone even though I do not want to sell it.

?You can flash a custom Pie rom eventhough your phone has android 10 bootloader. Just download a rom and flash it through twrp.
Just ignore the booloader.
