Hi there,
My camera has been crashing frequently for no apparent reason. It will open just fine, but after some use or switching between modes, the app will crash. Other apps that use the camera like Snapchat or BinaryEye (QR code scanner) sometimes continue to work, but once the initial crash happens, the camera itself typically no longer functions. I will note that the crash doesn't have to happen on just the Asus camera app. I have noticed that it will crash while using Snapchat as well. Another thing I noticed is that the standard 1.0x zoom has trouble focusing, but switching to 0.6x wide-angle is somehow okay.
I have only received an error once, see below:

I have tried going back to Asus' Android 12, along with installing LineageOS and StatixOS. Unfortunately, nothing has fixed the issue. At this point, I assume that there is something wrong with the hardware itself. It's just really weird how it works sometimes perfectly fine, then messes up and crashes out of nowhere.
Have any of you had this issue? If so, have you found a fix? I'm open to suggestions.
Thanks

Second problem is when using default camera app that come with android. When I take a picture with this default camera app everything seems ok and look like the picture get saved but when I check in gallery the picture not saved. I checked all other folders under media but not saved. I guess the problem started when I installed Paper Camera app, taking picture with Paper Camera working fine and the picture get saved.
Finally I have this showing in disable color tone and when I tap on it and says
"Application is not installed in your phone"
Have anyone here facing this issue before?
Hello! I like using the Instagram app. It used to work fine on my OB, running CyanogenMod 10.0. But then, suddenly, it won't let me select filters on my pictures after cropping them. It just shows a blank screen where the cropped picture should be. Everything else works fine, I can comment on pictures, follow/unfollow people, like pics etc.

The problem described in this thread is exactly what I have, except that for the OP of that thread, installing version 3.4.0 of Instagram solved the problem. But when I tried that, I can add filters to the picture, but it just won't upload. I keep getting an upload failed message.
So my questions are:
1) Anyone else here running CM 10.0 on the LG OB? Does the latest version of Instagram work on your phone?
2) Why is this problem occurring? Isn't there anything else I can do apart from installing an old version of the app (Which doesn't work in my case)
3) Is Installing some different ROM the only solution left to make this app work?
Hello everyone,
After investigating on several forums I couldn't find any threads related to my problem, so I'm posting it here hoping that someone could help me.
After updating my Mi 9T pro by OTA to the latest MIUI 11.0.3 stable I'm encountering a problem with the stock camera app : everytime I try to record a video (normal video, slow motion or even using the front facing camera) the camera app crashes...
I've already tried to clear the app cache, restore it to its default setup, but nothing works...
The app is in its version 3.0.
Here is the log that I get when a crash occurs :

}
Thank you in advance for your answers !
The error log just say it can't start recording.
Try a different Cam-App (which will probably not work)
Try a factory reset.
Thank you for your answer.
Other camera apps work just fine, it seems to be exclusively the stock camera app which has an issue...
I'd rather avoid having to factory reset the phone, but if that's the only solution...
Had the same issue. The only fix that worked was a factory reset.
Upgraded to Android 12 and noticed some ugly bugs with system ui.
Occasionally, during camera ring animation or landscape mode (youtube for example), the overlays for cutouts and camera ring/hole remain active.
They are not visible in the screenshots so it must be an overlay. The only way to get rid of this is if the System UI crashes and restarts or I restart the phone.
It can be days or hours between this behaviour.
Is there a way to crash/force restart system ui without rebooting the phone? What could surely trigger the crash?
This problem has been documented on zentalk - https://zentalk.asus.com/en/discussion/57673/system-ui-stopped-working/p1
thanks!

This problem started occuring in ANdroid 12 betas. THe Zentalk beta forum has 3 or 4 threads about this bug. Actually Asus seems not wanting to fix it.
Have you disabled System UI from accessibility settings? It should fix the issue.

Was never enabled.
Fixed it for me after being a beta tester and still experiencing it until a week or so ago. A factory reset was the solution, it's a bit of a bruteforce way to do it, but hey, if it works it works right?
Soooo, the last few days I'm facing the weirdest bug. The camera suddenly stops working it says camera failed, or that I cannot use the camera in more than one application. The thing is, I've tried everything. The bug persists in safe mode, I've done a factory reset, I've tried downgrading to another version of Android 12(previous update) via Odin, and still the same. And then all of a sudden, it starts to work again, and then breaks a few minutes/hours later. Any suggestions?

Hello ninokiller1915
Go to device maintenance - click on memory - Run now.
when done, close all open applications (if any) and restart your phone. that should help.

Still doesn't work. I've tried literally everything I've known.
