Hi there, maxbrew here. I just got a Nokia Lumia 520 and windows phone 8.1 (also carrier locked).
I wanted to install some applications directly from the phone itself since I don't have much access to computers. Is it possible to do?
Hi Maxbrew,
the only way to install apps to the 520 is updating it to Windows 10 MOBILE. Without computer, that is impossible. With computer, it is a challenge, but possible and it runs fairly good. Search for Windows 10 mobile offline updater (W01M_Installer), install W10m, do all possible Updates, perform a hard reset and register it with Microsoft. Then you will be able to use the App store or sideload apps via developer mode.
Best regards,
Joachim

I used the "WindowsBreak" method (credit to jaxbot) and everything seems to work as expected; reboot the phone and try to deploy a XAP with the official app deployment tool from microsoft and no matter what I do, XAPs will not deploy. Is there another deployment solution out there I need to be using?

i was running Win 7 x64 and had to run the deployer in admin mode otherwise it would come up with that message.
give that a shot and see how you got on.
Just whilst your here, im curious, i will be getting a Focus S soon but ive been reading a lot of info saying that the 8107 update via zune should be avoided because it will stop the ability to dev and interop unlock samsung devices.
But ive not found a single post saying that anyone with a focus S has had issues, if you wouldnt mind, have you seen any issues or heard of anything?
I am running W7 x64 as well. Tried running deployment in admin; no bueno.
Try install this program for sideload xaps on to device. It works with x64 and x86.
Remember windows phone only allow to sideload 10 unsigned apps on device but if you have windowbreaked your device there are currently some ways to expand that to a higher number of apps.

Remember to apply xaps
- Make sure your device is connected with PC and Zune lauched in background
- Make sure your device not in sleep mode
Hi everyone,
I have a HTC 8x (AT&T) with 8GB of storage. I was waiting patiently for the upgrade to Windows 10, but from the latest news I have come to understand that there is no such thing as a upgrade support to win10 for this particular phone.
Now I am trying to find some useful instructions here on how to upgrade this phone even though it is not supported on the list.
My question is: Has anyone tried this un-official way of upgrading this phone to win10 mobile, and if yes then how do you get further updates?
Greetings!
Unable to install application. The maximum number of developer applications on this phone has been reached. Please uninstall a developer application and try again.
This is the error I am getting when I am trying to deploy application on my newly flashed and registered Lumia 530 dual sim with windows phone 8.1 update.
The problem is
I am having no developer application on my phone as it is newly flashed using windows device recovery tool.
Also I have to register my phone again and again for each time I connect my phone to my pc.
But then how to solve it?
Can anyone please help me regarding this?
Thanks in advance for all reply.
I am soo sad

Use Windows Insider app, will get you windows 10 mobile 10586.107 at first. Once you get it, you can take a lot of paths to get AU(14393.x), CU(15063.x) or FCU(15254.x) builds. I've tested all of them on my device and all work well, you'll need to increase the pagefile for the best multitasking experience. I would suggest that, before getting w10m, get windows device recovery tool and run it on your device to get a clean 8.1 rom, once you get it, download windows insider app from the store, enroll and search for updates, this will get the w10m rom download and once it finishes, it will as you to reboot, do it and it will install.
Remember always to have 40% or more battery. And save your photos, videos, etc. before doing anything.
Hello,
I would like to ask you about defaults apps in ffu ROM file.
I have lumia 925 with WP 8.1, and i want to test it with W10M,
but later I want to back it WP 8.1.
Windows store for WP 8.1 isnt work.
So, if I recovery it to WP 8.1 via WPDR tool, apps like HERE Maps, drive, Camera, back to me by default? Or i lose it?
Thanks for reply,
greets
That may well depend on the ffu in question. I did something similar to what you did (full factory reset), and lost the Lumia Camera app. After flashing the ffu of another Lumia 1020 variant onto my phone, I got the original (and almost identical) Nokia camera app, which suits me just fine.
OK, thanks for your reply. I think I will stay with the WP8.1, that is stable.
i rooted phone and now I may install the apps via MS deploy tools.
