Guys, could you please share what residual capacity your battery has for the moment? Reinforce your data with the print screen. You can download the app "Capacity info" and mesure it with that app. Mine has 4126 mAh after one year of usage. Please also indicate how long you have been using your device.
Is it difficult to share your data?!

Hey guys so i bought an 1800mAh battery for my IS and i don't seem to be getting any extra juice really. My main concern is that the phone still thinks i am on theold one and indicating that i am on reserve power when i'm actually not. Is there some utility i can use that gives me accurate feedback as to how much juice is left in my battery or are my suspicions unfounded?
TIA
If your IS is S-OFF then you should be able to use ClockworkMod Recovery to wipe battery status. And to calibrate new battery, you need to charge the new battery until full (there's some dispute on whether to leave it charging for 8 to 12 hours), and then use it until the phone tells you to charge (~1% left).
But NEVER drain your battery to 0%
Finally repeat that process for at least 4 times, new battery calibration done!

Not 100% correct.
If you notice that your battery-left-show-thingy doesn't really match how much battery you really have left, you should use the phone untill it dies. When the phone dies because the battery is "empty" (in quotation marks since it isn't 100% empty if I can recall what I learned from my electronics course correctly..) it re-calibrates the battery stats and should be more accurate next boot.
But except for that fact you're right
If you want the battery to have as long lifetime as possible, keep between 30% and 70% all the time, and when you're not going to use the battery for a long time charge it to 40%!

Some good reading if you want to know more
(well, I know this is a bit off topic, but someone might find this info quite good to know )
usually third party battery with "higher" rating usually sucks and don't really give the performance that they rated the battery with
correct

correct third party battery's usually have about 20% less of their "ratted" capacity some lesser known third party ones have like 40% less
Their is nothing like the real thing
but as others have said re-calibrate your battery
That link was sure a wealth of info. Very informative.
I heard you can use the 1800mAH desire z(I think)battery as it is the same size and type. I know nothing about it but will I need to do anything special or is it plug and go? What kind of performance difference can I expect?

Hi, I recently got a Z3 compact from clove uk. And I haven't seen the 6+ hours of screen on times that other people are reporting. I've had Battery Monitoring Widget on the the phone since the beginning, and while the system files say the battery has 2663mAh of capacity, the app only records me using up to 2300mAh of battery from full to dead.
I'm not worried about the perceived runtimes as I'm in a bad cell service area and I still have the new phone syndrome. But the physical capacity of the battery seems to be lower than stated on my device. Does anyone else use the battery monitoring widget and can report their numbers?

My battery is now at 45% and it shows a capacity of 1197 / 2662mAh.

If you goto the compare tab of Battery Monitoring widget, what's the measured capacity of your battery?

Right now it shows "0" but I will charge it right now and tell you. I have only just installed the app. No measurement yet.

Thanks for checking, for more accurate results, it's best if you could run the phone from 100% to dead once or twice, so the monitor can capture the full range of your battery.

It will take some time though. That battery just won't die
To whatever extent you have "new cell syndrome", it's gonna appear as reduced capacity.
First result at +-27% accuracy: 2280 mAh
Charging cycles: 2

If you can get a number with accuracy below 10%, that would be best, cause batteries are usually manufactured to 10% capacity accuracy.
Thank you
Allright - just don't expect to see the final results within the next few hours
It now says:
+-12% accuracy and still 2280mAh
After unplugging the charger it's: 2253mAh
The value went up to 2398mAh. Accuracy is still at +-12%.

Ok, thanks
Mime says 2440mAh with accuracy at +-5%.
What kind of screen on time are you seeing?
If I remember correctly I had a maximum of ~7 hrs screentime. I did some benchmarking and stuff like that so I'm pretty satisfied with battery life.
Hello, xiaomi users!
I bought my MI3 phone last year in July. Since then, I've been taking care of battery. I've been keeping it from 30 to 70 percent all the time. But it became hard for me to take care of the battery, because I don't want to be tied to outlet all the time.
Now I have few questions for you.
Has anyone actually tried to take out and replace the battery? Was the process hard? Did you damage anything? There is some tutorial on ifixit.com. Did you follow it?
Did you buy those $15 batteries from eBay? Are they comparable to original one?
Thank you in advance for your answers!

Bump. Anyone?

U can get it replaced from service center with original one
Well, I guess that option does not work for me because I'm from Croatia, and sending my phone to service center could easily double the expenses.
But thank you anyway.

Well, keeping the battery from 30% to 70% all the time is not necessary good idea. It may help, but I read articles about deep analyzis of Li-Ion battery tests. And the goal was to measure of the influence of discharge level on the battery life. The results actually shows that the depth of the battery discharge has almost no influence on the batttery life. It is because if you discharge battery until zero (and not until 20-30-40%), your phone works longer, so the count of charge/discharge cycles is lower over years.
Anyway I'm not going to provide so many details here. Just wanted to show you that you may not neccessary need to keep eyes on the battery so much. As it will not give you comparable longer battery life until replacement.
Sorry I have not saved the link to that article. If you unable to find it, please ping me.
Regarding replacement. I'm not going to do it during first 3 years of phone usage. So can't help you with suggestion on the Ebay good supplier. You can try to just order it from good rated sellers if you beleive your battery is already dead.
It is easy to replace battery if you have technical background. There are dissasembly instructions available on the Internet. Here is one of them http://en.miui.com/thread-29887-1-1.html
Also I have seen good video on youtube.
Mi3 has li poly battery not li ion ???
Strange. I've read at Battery university that DoD (depth of discharge) has impact on battery longetivity. And according to the data provided, it actually has huge impact on it:
http://batteryuniversity.com/learn/article/how_to_prolong_lithium_based_batteries
But it seems that battery replacement task isn't that hard to do. All you have to do is follow this tutorial:
https://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Xiaomi+Mi3+Touchscreen+Replacement/31237
And if something isn't clear, you'd normally refer to this youtube video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FbUsIy2Jeeg
and to the link SerjP provided, for additional images and info:
http://en.miui.com/thread-29887-1-1.html
PLEASE NOTE:
Guy on youtube video doesn't have NFC sticker on the battery! If you have built-in NFC in your mobile (which probably you DO have), please refer to link on ifixit.com, because you could easily broke your NFC chip if you don't know how to remove it.
I haven't replaced my battery yet, but I think I figured it out. If there is something that needs clarification, please send me a PM.
How can i find out how much capacity my battery has left. I had AccuBattery installed and it showed the battery was still at 96% capacity. I find that hard to believe, got the N6 for the past 21 months.
Is there another app or way to get a accurate status of the remaining battery capacity?
no one got any idea on how to find out the remaining capacity of my battery? Because i dont believe its still 96% after 21 months
To test the battery capacity the battery would have to be removed from the device and attached to test equipment none of us have. It would then have to be put under load and tests run with that test equipment to get the answer.
How old is the battery?

Thanks for your answer. Thought it would be possible without testing equipment. But phone still works fine, and battery last me long enough to get through 1,5 - 2 days with normal use.
Have a question about the actual battery capacity of the Nokia 9 ,
from multiple links plus the official Nokia site it says that the capacity is 3320 mAh ,
but when using the app called CPU-Z it shows a capacity of 3090.
so i was wondering if anyone can drop a hint on what is going on..

I installed AccuBattery and initially it read my mAh as 3340. However to get an accurate rating, i need to do a charge with it, so i will let you know what i get later tonight.
So far my use has been that i charge it every other day. So not bad. That's light to medium use, no game playing.
*Update: According to Accubattery, its likely that CPU-Z will probably need an update to correctly detect the Nokia's battery. I clearly got over 3090 when charging the phone. So try a different app. Let us know what you get.
