A great channel.

Warthog She's a thriller, she's a killer...
These warbirds can fly so slow they look like they should stall*. Unlike when they land, when they do a gun run their turbines are not near idle; it's a powered descent. They make a very peculiar noise when they do this; you know death is coming before you hear the gatling canon. Watch two practicing gun run demonstrations for an airshow. They could do a gun run, turn and be back on target within about 30 seconds. They can turn extremely tight and fast.
Up 1.5 inches of titanium armor can suck up a lot of abuse. The whole airframe is harden and very strong. Can lose huge chunks of flight surfaces and still fly.
Lots of wing hard mounting points and a high payload capacity plus their main canon means they can really pack a punch. Incredible warbirds... in a class all by themselves.
*did a slow and very low flyby over the tower with their flaps down before spooling up and streaking off. They were fun.

The De Havilland Comet
mmm, the Vampire...
This and its parent channel Mentor Pilot are great, most of the time.

Cool movie, bro

I've been getting my money's worth out of my netflix account lately and I've come across some very obscure but pretty good/interesting movies and I thought there might be one or two other people here who enjoy good movies
Share em if you got em but please no blockbusters, they get enough attention.
Interesting and Unique Movies:
INK
Visioneers
Revolution OS
Gabriel
Serenity
Right At Your Door
Deadline
Food INC
*edit- Part of the OP is obviously easy to overlook, please let me reiterate:
Please no blockbusters, they get enough attention.
The goal here is to expose some great obscure movies that most of us may not have heard of before.
Thanks
Entropy is my favorite movie.

Also, Comedian was a great movie.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0328962/
Bladerunner. Best movie ever.
netflix movies
The box, and the skeleton key are both movies related to TV shows like twilight zone and tales from the crypt but with hotter women leads.
Loved Serenity but the marketing of it was not up to the movie itself. It should have been a blockbuster.

It's really a shame it wasn't. I was very pleasantly surprised by it.
I don't know if you've ever watched it OP, but try a movie like The Nines with Ryan Reynolds. Interesting and thought provoking.
Other good movies that I enjoyed....Moon with Sam Rockwell. Awesome one-man show.
Ink & The Nines is really good

I had no idea that firefly existed before I watched serenity, was a little confused!#
But after watching that, and then watching again, it made for very good entertainment. Definately would recommend it to most people.
(Random side note - I used to play a game called EVE, I thought there were a few, not loads, of similarities between the two.)
If you're into reading films, I enjoyed "La Haine" as well, but that is getting on a bit now.
Thanks for the input guys! I look forward to watching some new (to me) movies.

Pans Labyrinth and Leon are 2 amazing films, agreed.
Donnie Darko too, I guess most people here would have seen it though, but didn't think it would be classed as blockbuster.

Just watched it the other night, pretty cool flick.
Very dark but somehow not depressing.
Who knows what the solution might be but I have said for years that the earth has too damn many people on it.

WARNING! Telescope may hit Earth

http://www.hindustantimes.com/WARNING-Telescope-may-hit-Earth/Article1-756017.aspx
all these satellites and crap floating up in the stratosphere, and falling back down as they age, it's making the future picture in Max Headroom more and more closer to reality
soon enough we'll be walking out the streets with those metal shielded umbrellas to protect our-self from the falling debris
Max Headroom was such a cool show!
Anyway, yep..it's getting pretty messy up there. If there was a runaway cascade effect it could get seriously ugly, fast! Imagine going back to pre-satellite era communications!*
We do have the re-tasked NORAD keeping a watch on the situation though, (when they're not busy tracking Santa), and i'm sure if there were any imminent threat we'd have heard more by now.
Don't forget that a lot is coming down even as we put more up, and what comes down mostly burns up safely in the atmosphere. I watched a beautiful re-entry event from my garden one night, as something that glowed green as it burned, streaked towards the ground before splitting into numerous fragments.
*In the event that this happens i'm buying every share i can in Skype. VOIP would take off like a rocket!

Could have been anything and it was a long time ago! It was eerie and quite unexpected though. I just always look up while i'm outside smoking at night. Force of habit!
It annoyed me when people started mouthing off recently about how NASA couldn't predict where that last one was coming down. If by putting spin on it, you can make a tennis ball swerve by two metres over the length of a tennis court, imagine what unpredictable path an irregular shaped object falling through one-hundred kilometres of atmosphere could take!
YOu know I'm taking some of it if parts of it fall in NYC. And I'll try to be there before the FBI/CIA/Secret Service/Army/Navy/Coast Guard/Aliens/BBQ gets to the location.

Now that would be a trick, threading a square screw into a square hole! I figure if we could find a way to do that, the universe will be able to make square planets. Then the world really would be flat lol
I'll tell you what...
..if you watch all the Wimp.com videos from beginning to end it will be a greater mind-altering/learning experience, than all the LSD on the planet +/- ten years ivy-league education!
I've learned more about about the human condition in 6 months of watching these videos than i have in 38 years of my real life. If you want to see what people are really capable of creating, instead of being drowned daily by what people are are capable of destroying, this is the answer for you!
If this planet is being ruined by 99% of the population, it's the 0.1% that you see in these videos that make the continuation of this species worthwhile!
To do a thread-type inception...were i to bring a person from history back from the dead?.. i would pick Leonardo De Vinci. In an era where dogmatic practices were holding the world back from immense discoveries, the few that dared to challenge the 'accepted' facts, Copernicus, for example, who 'dared' to suggest that the Earth wasn't the centre of the universe..only a part of it, these people, these innovators, led the world into an new era of understanding..these are the people who have driven the advancement of mankind.
In a thousand years from now, who will the future historians be thinking back on as the 'greats' of our time? The Physicians like 'Hawkins'? The artists like 'Dali'? Perhaps the visionaries like 'Asimov'?
Who know's who it'll be...but i'm willing to bet that the first ones for consideration will be the same people who are currently pushing the boundaries, doing the things that that we consider unimaginable, and yet are out there doing the impossible for the enjoyment and betterment of mankind!
I personally have a deep-seated hatred for the ignorance of mankind, but an overwhelming optimism that a select few can make a wealth of difference for the many!
/FridayNightPhilosophy!
EDIT: God only knows, as i sit here ,pissed, listening to great tunes..that out of 7 Billion souls currently on this planet, that my contribution to the planet as a whole is next to useless.
In a million years from now, the best that i can hope for is that my skeletal remains are part of the 0000.1% that may become part of the geological fossil record, that future generations can study and glean an ounce of information from. (Their deductions being that i came from an era where DNA destroying substances, and a penchant for warefare led to the extinction of an entire race...and that we were all obsessed by self-destructive paradigms that ended with us donating nothing more than a few genes to the generations to come, rather than being the fathers of a new and enlightened epoch of history.
Homo-Sapien? Pfft..
..in a million years from now we'll be nothing more that an another branch of the evolutionary tree that suddenly became a bookmark in history! The only hope as i see it is if people wake up to the fact that all we have is what we are now! We're living at at a turning point..and if we don't do the right things now, we'll be expunged from the record books, forever.
That's impressive!
More to the point, a square drill bit boggles my primitive Mind.

Because of their size to the untrained eye a train appears to be going slower than it actually is. 8 or 9 out of 10 make this deadly error. You gauge a train's speed by stationary objects around it's path of travel. Telegraph poles or electric poles are convenient reference points. Error on the side of caution. Beware of the 2 or more trains at once on different tracks, the one you can't see can still kill you.
Don't trip on the tracks, ties or gravel holes as this can be a deadly mistake even with no train. The rails will break bones if you fall on them... always assume a train is coming. I've walked many miles on active lines starting at 6yo, still here.
