Hey folks, yesterday i accidentally flashed a theme that didnt go well with my rom and now I am stuck on the bootscreen "Samsung Galaxy S" Logo....
anyways, my laptop recognizes the phone and I can also get into the download mode,
what are my options from here?
I need some kind of program like odin right?
- Also semi-flashing-noob here -
any help is GREATLY appreciated!!!
dont panic its no problem.
many of us get boot loops when flashing themes. do you have recovery mode ??
if so, try to flash the theme again, but before rebooting, wipe cache / dalvik cache and see if it boots then.
if not just do a factory reset. that should clear it up.
ODIN should be a last resort, sometimes it is not necessary to use.
thanks for the quick reply,
how do i get into recovery mode? the 3 button combo was volume up + home + power right?
cause i tried various combinations and could only get into the "Download mode"
yes volume up is recovery, volume down is download mode.
if recovery dont work, then you will need to use odin.
you will lose all your data so i hope you made a backup
there is a reset button under the back cover, in the middle of the camera and the speaker. this may fix your problem, but i have never tried it.
Is there any hope for me?
Running stock 4.0.4 on my unrooted GT N7000. Phone was plugged in and charging (nearly full 89%) when I tried to use swipepad to launch my goole reader app. Everything froze while still in swipepad and was unresponsive for about five minutes while I waiting for a crash report. Crash report never came so I tried the power button. No response, still showing the frozen swipepad screen. Took the battery out and put it back in again, hit the power button and it shows the galaxy note launch screen (Galaxy Note GT N7000 in white on the black screen). It stays there with no change (this is a bootloop, right?).
I've tried going into recovery mode (vol down, home and power) and nothing happens, it just goes into the bootloop. Tried to get into odin mode (vol up, home and power) and I can get to the warning screen where you can select either boot as normal, or download mode. Boot as normal leads to bootloop, download mode gets immediately frozen.
I've also tried the "take battery out, hold volume, home and power while replacing battery" process with no luck
What happened? What did I do? What do I do?
I'm dying here.
As far as I can tell, all solutions I've seen have involved access to recovery mode....

You are not in a bootloop (which is when the bootanimation repeats over and over) you are stuck in the splash screen. Anyway, that is not important. As you are running the stock ICS firmware which has the brick bug, I would suggest you flash the rom again in ODIN PC. Find your firmware and follow the tutorial in here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1329360
DO NOT TRY TO WIPE ANYTHING IN STOCK RECOVERY.

Thanks for clearing that up (re the bootloop vs stuck in the splash screen), but looking through the tutorials, even with Odin installed on the PC, I'll need to get access to the recovery mode.
I can't boot into recovery mode. What then? Is there any way to flash a rom without recovery mode access?
From what I know you need recovery or download mode to flash a ROM you may want to order a USB jig and see if you can get it to down load mode that way other then that you may be bricked

My USB port is tempermental. OTG has been out of commission for a while.
So basically, through no fault of my own and without any recourse my phone is dead.
That's just great.
So, is this Google's fault, or Samsung's?
If you have not modified the phone be it kernel, rooted it, or custom ROMs then it would be a Samsung issue in my opinion anyways

Nep, I can't, I can't boot into download mode, and i can't do wipe
It's so complicated for me
That's weird. I assume the power button seems to be faulty. Were you running a stock rom? Did that happen out of the blue?

My Pc can't read the usb phone, I looked for all solution, and I tried them all, no hope
so im here needing ur help
thank you
What if you pull out battery for some minutes and then try to start your phone? Doesn't work either?
And my other questions? What did you do before that boot loop happened? Are you running stock ROM and stock recovery?
Btw you don't have to quote each post, it is easier for reading
I give you a summary of the situation
I have a 9305 Black edition SIII, it restarts in a loop, and I can not charge the battery gets stuck with low battery and reboute yet, I even tried a different battery type EB-L1G6LLU and it lasts for two week almost;
The download mode does not work, every time I enabled it restarts,
The recovery mode to wipe the same, it does not even appear,
I tried to connect via keis Odin and the other failure of the operation
I even tried to change the connector, the same thing
Frankly I do not know what to do, If you have a tip, hint is welcome
What did you do before that boot loop happened? Are you running stock ROM and stock recovery? or all custom? If you pull out battery and put it back in, does the phone start on its own without you pressing the power button?
I tried any solution possible in Internet and form from the world wide.
My motherboard are dead so, I have only one solution it's to buy a other.
Thank you to be here and answing

Maybe you tell the situation in the correct thread, where you load the firmware?
There more dudes, who flashed the rom and known the bug (soft brick?).
I use the official beta of the android 10 firmware & can't directly support.
Good luck.

hi, i load the Firmware from this link
https://forum.xda-developers.com/s10-plus/how-to/galaxy-s10-sm-g975f-official-oneui2-10-t3980879
yes it's a soft brick, the phone boot to the Samsung logo, with the little vibration, and reboot again and again. recovery and download buttons manipulations not work..

To enter download mode, put usb cable into your phone, press and hold vol down button without bixby button, make sure your screen comes to black(total shut down if its on bootloop), then put the usb cable into your pc. It should detect your phone

Hi,the only thing you can do is reflash with odin.
It is because you had unlocked bootloader.
When you have unlocked bl and flash Q it will bootloop.
yesterday I had the same problem (update beta Q with BL unlock). I couldn't open either downloading mod or recovery. Bootloop. I left the phone "resting" overnight and tried again in the morning. Hold Volume- and Bixby together and then connect the PC cable. download mod opened(possibly a coincidence). Odin worked.

try letting the phone die then when bootloop stops inset cable and do the download mode combo, failing that when the device is looping does it connect sucsessfully to your computer because i had a similar experiance, at the samsung logo screen although display was looping adb commands did acually work, i then entered adb reboot download in cmd prompt and the download screen appeard and was odin compatible for a complete reflash of the firmware with magisk patched AP file
i hope this helps !! best of luck my friend

Hello,
I've the same problem. To fix it :
- Go to recovery mode (when your phone is shutdown, press Bixby+Vol Up + Power and realase all after Samsung's Logo)
- Wipe Cache
- Wipe System
- Reboot System
I have the same problem on my Samsung Galaxy A7 2018. It keeps showing every 5 seconds the logo in an infinite bootloop and i cannot enter recovery or download mode. Any help?

sorry, i don't know if it's been fixed but if have read the thread you will noticed that there isn't a quick fix until you wait till the device goes off, then either your boot into recovery mode (wipe, cache, reset and reboot) or download mode (flash stock rom with odin).

This is why I have hate not being take the battery out of a device. Atleast the S10 doesn't seem likes it's too hard, if it were me I probably just remove the back cover and pop the battery out rather than wait for the battery to die. The back cover seems to just snap off and on, almost like they could have just made it removable in the first place, but then of course too many people would just buy new batteries when they wear out rather than a new phone. Gotta love planned obsolescence.
