Question In regards to flashing. - Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra

Hi. Can I flash my s21 ultra 5g model SM-G998U(XAA/XAA/XAA/ATT) using a flash file for SM-G998U1.

Yes, the firmware for the U/U1 is interchangeable; the U generally has carrier bloatware while the U1 does not.
However, do NOT flash firmware for any other model, such as B, N, or W.

I'm from Africa a using a snapdragon model so the region won't affect me downloading and flashing the flash file

Firmware Flash Compatibility Question

I have an AT&T variant of the S10 (SM-G973) and I wanted to flash the stock One UI ROM that is found on the unlocked S10 (SM-G970). Does anyone know if the firmware for the 970 can be flashed successfully on a 973 phone?

Why would you want to flash G970 firmware onto G973 phone? Can't you just flash G973 firmware onto your G973 phone?
My understanding is that the G973 firmware has the AT&T Bloatware and some functions/tiles hidden (like the mobile data tile for quick settings). I'm hoping I can do the stock firmware from G970 to not deal with the bloatware and have more access.

Have you thought about using unlocked G973 firmware? G970 is S10e model
Thank you, Charkatar. I bet if I paid more attention in my search I would have noticed the difference. Next step, find and flash the unlocked firmware!

Use SamFirm tool to download firmware you need ( I have attached zip file) and check out example image on how to search and download firmware your phone needs.
So under model, you would put SM-G973U1 (which should be unlocked model) and region you would put XAA (unlocked model) and click "check update" IF YOUR MODEL IS DIFFERENT FROM MY EXAMPLE, THEN ENTER THE CORRECT MODEL AND REGION YOU NEED

I'm on a Mac and can't open the windows .exe files. I did find a slight work around with Samsung SmartSwitch. Work has been so busy I haven't had time to find and download the U1 firmware for the S10. I"ll let you know how it goes!

Question Sales Code/CID/AID change via stock firmware ODIN flash

Hi guys so I bought an overseas S21 Ultra Exynos variant and brought it to my home country. While the 272 method works, I was wondering if flashing my home country's official firmware would cause the AID (third CSC code on software info) to change to the flashed firmware or not. If not, would it change if I flash a different none multi-csc variant firmware first before going back to multi-csc?
Thanks!

Question Can I flash a US-based firmware on my s21 ultra while in Kenya(East Africa) SM-G998U? NB: everything else is fine just not receiving updates.

I have a recently purchased galaxy s21 ultra 5G SM-G998U and Im currently stuck on Sept 2022 patch with A12. CSC is XAA/XAA/XAA/ATT. I'm from Kenya and since this is a US-based model how do I go about accessing the updates, do I flash the firmware to the one in my region or the one in the US
Should be fine, as long as the CSC you want to use isn't included in the firmware you're flashing. You must flash the firmware that corresponds to your model number - meaning you can't flash G998B, G998W, or G998N firmware.
You'll need to use the CSC.tar, not HOME_CSC.tar, because you'll need a factory reset.
So I use a SM-G998U or U1 firmware?

Trasform g9730 into g973u1

Hi, i was wondering if i can transform my snapdragon G9730 into the american version G973U1 (also snapdragon) just flashing the the original g973u1 firmware. I d like to do that because the american firmware is better optimized for the network where i live. if is not possible to flash all the firmware, could i flash only the CP file from the american version g973u1 togheter with BL,AP and CSC from my g9730 firmware?

The only firmware you can use G973U1 firmware on is a G973U or U1.
NEVER flash firmware for a different model number on your device. You will render your device completely inoperative. Only use G973F firmware on a G973F, G9730 firmware on a 9730, etc.
If you wanted to use the G973U1 AP or CSC, that might be possible and easily fixed, but since the CP file is your modem firmware, you could cause serious damage or problems by using one not intended for your device.

So in both the cases there is the risk of brick the device? without the opportunity to flash the original firmware back?

NEVER try to flash firmware from a different model number. You could permanently brick your device.
The only firmware you should flash on a S911B/DS is the S911B/DS firmware.
Odin won't let you flash anything that doesn't match up to your model #. I tried on a SM-S9110 with USA software and was soft bricked. The only fix was to unlock the bootloader and go back to flashing a compatible software.
