Hello,
I have a Mi 9t Pro on the latest global A11 firmware with the crDroid ROM. In the past couple days, I have been unable to get data transfer working from my phone. I have tried multiple cables with no luck (including ones that have data transfer and I've used with this phone for data transfer) with no luck. When plugged into my Linux machine, the lsusb command gets no results (of the phone), and on Windows, I receive an error in device manager (image attatched below). I have tried multiple computers and recieved the same issue, without any notification about allowing data transfer on my phone. Fastboot, Orange Fox Recovery, and the Android OS itself refuses to recognize any computer (fastboot devices gives me no output, mtp doesn't work, etc). I have also noticed that USB OTG also seems to be not working and none of my USB drives are recognized. Another weird issue is that fast charging only shows up as charging at 1.5 watts (when it does, other times, it shows up as "wireless charging" when the mi 9t pro doesn't even have it). Previously, I have not needed drivers for my phone, but just incase, I downloaded drivers off of this website and it did not change anything.
Has anyone else had this issue or can help me out? Thanks so much.
Edit: Changed a couple things for clarity.

Ok I know this problem has been highlighted several times but I cannot get to the bottom of this...
I'm having problems when the phone is connected to the PC. This only started happening after I unlocked my bootloader. When the phone rebooted after this, the phone made the noise that it was connected to the laptop, followed by a disconnection sound a few seconds later with a message that the MTP device driver could not be installed. I am using Windows 7 x64. Prior to this my phone worked fine with the laptop
After this, I uninstalled all the drivers including HTC sync followed by a restart
I reinstalled all the drivers - still didn't work
I tried 3 different USB cables - still nothing. I also tried these all in different ports
The phone registers in bootloader as fastboot usb. Once in recovery adb no longer works and the device disconnects again
Anyone want to shed some light on this? It happened me before and it somehow seemed to rectify itself
Anyone help me on this?
Tried 5 different USB cables. Also tried on another laptop with windows 8 installed. Still no luck. One of the USB cables charged the phone but did not register under device manager and ADB still did not work...
I am completely at a loss as to why it is doing this
Also, when I connect to a charger, the Car app opens....so I think it may be a voltage problem...
I've been using my Mi5 for 6 months without any real issues, the occasional bug like fingerprint scan missing ect but overall no problem. Right now I am experiencing a problem that is driving me crazy. The USB options do not show up, only that it is charging. My PC doesn't recognize it anymore, and gives error 43. (USB device descriptor failed.) MiFlash, MiPCSuite all do not recognize it either.
Any help or solution would be greatly appreciated, I've spent days combing through potential fixes to no avail.
What I have tried:
-Mi PC Suite
-Mi Flash
-Default Android Drivers
-3 Different cables (2 xiaomi, 1 off brand)
-Factory Reset / Data Wipe
-QShortcut to force mtp usb options
-Developer options USB debugging on + selecting charging / mtp
-Reinstalling INF
-Disabing drivier signature enforcement
I've went as far as trying a different rom ect to no avail. It seems to revolve around the mi5 not recognizing usb connection, only charging for instance can't use usb charging
I've tried many options in terms of drivers, replaced the usb port and tech told me it was most likely motherboard issue and then tried to sell me a new phone. Unfortunately, I am living somewhere without many options for authorized support so looks like I'm out of luck.
Also tried different pc's, cables, roms, ect. All seems to stem from mi5 no recognizing usb
Hi,
Sorry not a solution but I'm having exactly the same problem too. Was fine for the first few months but then suddenly nothing. I've also tried it (with different cables) on :
Windows 10 PC
Windows 7 laptop
Linux Mint laptop
Macbook Air
And nothing but charging mode. Changing setting in developer options does nothing either. I've resigned to the fact it's most likely a hardware problem
Hi,
i had the problem that mi5 was not found by pc after a fresh install of windows 10 64bit.
I found a solution somewhere in the www
I have downloaded and installed the windows 10 N pack ( media feature pack ).
After that, restart the pc and try to connect the mi5 again.
This solution worked for me.
I have the same issue. Is there any solution? Is it covered by the guarantee?
Same problem here with mi6, maybe if we replacement de usb port of the phone?

Same Problem, Need Help
does anyone have same problem i need help and probably a fix to this problem, fastboot not detected too, i am currently using windows 10.. driver that i found online does not help either
hi, i need help in this case aswell. initially there no OS on my mi5, computers absolutely doesnt see phone (no unknown device etc, just nothing), so i can not send any zip file to install an OS. i can access trwp, tried OTG connection but it doesnt see either
Wow.. so I'm not the only one who has this issue.
Too bad there aren't any solution in this thread. My guest that it has something to do with the hardware. My phone is not recognized on PC and it is not charging properly either.
The strange thing is that it can charge on unknown chargers. It doesn't charge on "authentic" chargers (Xiaomi chargers, well-known brands like Aukey).
Solution
Guys (and gals)
I have the solution, i was as desperate as you all and it took a lot of digging into it, IT IS SO SIMPLE :
Download the app "USB SETTING" for MIUI and just turn on the option for file transfer, it also solves the ethernet problem. It worked for me, that's it.
(I also activated the USB debugging in the developer settings but I don't think it helped, as a matter of fact the right setting is present there in "select USB configuration" but refuses to work on my phone at least)
I hope it helped,
All the best on your paths <3
Hello all,
I have updated my P30 pro to version VOGUE-L29C 10.1.0.179(C431E23R2P5) according to instructions posted here (dload). So far so good. Unfortunately, the smartphone is now no longer recognized by any PC via USB. Old backups from a USB stick can also not be used. It can only be charged via USB. I have already tried to check the USB port via the menu *#*#2846579#*#*. No preassignment is displayed. Setting any option has no effect.
I also can't reset the smartphone with any older version. I have tried several. The update reports an error when checking and restarts the smartphone. Recovery is also blocked so I can't perform a wipe.
Has anyone else observed this effect and possibly a solution or a tip for me? My main problem is that no file or photo transfer is possible via USB.
In the developer options, all settings for ADB via USB, USB file transfer and OEM unlock were enabled.
Thanks for your time and support.
Best regards from Germany.
Andreas
I've had that problem on a p30 pro. Headphones, TV out, super charging all worked, but not data connection to pc, absolutely no reaction besides charging. I've read that forcing update did that to some phones, but updating from phone to the next version would solve that. Didn't solve it for me, when it updated... I could access its memory using Huawei share and network neighborhood from Files. Bought it that way and sold it after 1 month.
Hello,
I have a Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro phone on which USB data transfer stopped working. Neither connecting the phone to the computer, nor connecting a USB OTG device work (although fast charging works fine). I'm not sure when it happened, however I think I updated the firmware/vendor sometime around then. Also, I'm running the latest Arrow OS 11 (which is quite out of date now..) I tried changing the board with the USB port but to no avail. I've also tried multiple USB cables, which I confirmed to work on another device. I even tried booting the phone into EDL (as well as fastboot) mode, however device manager doesn't recognize the device (and I doubt it's the drivers as it would probably result in the device appearing as QHSUSB_BULK, not "device descriptor request failed").
Has anyone dealt with such a problem before? Could it be caused by bad vendor/firmware? Or is it a hardware issue, which could be diagnosed? Perhaps the custom ROM could be somehow safely updated without a USB connection (with it being necessary to format data)? Thanks for any help!
Did you ever find the solution for your issue? I have a very similar problem, which appeared as far as I can remember without having done any updates before:
On my Mi 9T Pro I can slow charge (very slow, complete recharge takes 8+ hours), but I do not get working quick charge or a working usb connection.
I had the same problem a while back which was solved by changing the USB board. This time however, I have changed the USB board multiple times (at first I thought the new board was faulty) but I did not help.

Hello, I have similar problem. USB OTG doesn't work at all (in custom recovery or in rom). I guess changing USB charging port may help... but I'm not sure. Did you manage this problem? (I have other two 9t pro which works so it's not problem with USB cable).
Hey guys.
I'm facing the following problem. Whenever a I plug my 12 Pro on the USB (2.0 or 3.0, doesnt matter) on windows 10, I hear the phone connecting, and then disconnecting, the windows file explorer showing the phone storage content pops up, and the closes, the phone disconnects, and connects again, and on and on and on and on.
I have already deleted all my drivers, reinstalled everything, updated windows but nothing worked. Also, have changed all the power options of USB ports. I've tested different ports, different cables, but got nothing. My old Pixel 3XL works perfectly with the same cable and ports.
I'm currently running EU 13.0.30.
*Edit: It happens with any data transfer mode. If I keep the option "no data transfer" on, I can hear the sound of the usb connection, and it charges normally without looping.
Is there any fix for that?
Try to put a USB hub between the PC and the device.
The obvious solution is to keep it on "no data transfer".
You can still use ADB. You can still use AdbSync.exe (in my sig).
That's what I use and I never play with MTP or PTP or UMS.
