Is the Rumrunner server down?

Hello everyone. Bought a red HTC One recently and I love it to the fullest! Unlocked the bootloader, installed custom recovery and then rooted my stock rom. However when I tried to S-off by rumrunner method (running hboot 1.55), it fails at 'checking for updates' and then an error message. Most probably because of the lack of access to internet. However firewall disabled and no antivirus is installed. I checked rumrunners site and it is insanely slow today. In fact couldnt access it a couple of times or at times takes a lot of time to load. Can this be a reason? Help would be appreciated, thanks.

Just tried to access rumrunner.us and i'm having the same issue, so I guess servers are down atm. The website doesn't reply to any ping request either.

maybe you can try firewater s-off or just wait a couple hours for rumrunner. I've been able to access to site once but it seems very slow atm.

Umm, since your english is not sufficent— I hate to suggest it— have you tried:
Vroot Chinese Version
if you don't speak chinese, here the english version:
Vroot EN
or Flashtool?

01. Download & Instal Intel Usb Driver
02. Download & Extrack File Root "Root_Zenfone 4_T001.rar" Extrack File must in the same folder
03. Mode Debugging USB (Usb Debugging) is On. (settings/About/Software information touch "Build Number" 7x).
04. Turn off Zenfone 4 and enter to "DROIDBOOT" (Power + Vol Up + Vol Down)
05. plug in Zenfone 4, Make sure On the Screen Mode DROIDBOOT Is Inscribed " Ready for Download"
06. Open the folder that was extracted and klik "OPEN.CMD"
07. type this on cmd: fastboot flash update root_zenfone4_v4.2.0.zip
08. " Enter " wait for processing
09. Your Zenfone 4 now is rooted.

This a pain in the ass. I'm desperate to root the phone.

I want to disable google chrome since its using 30% power in the background

I forgot to delete it. I don't use it and there no battery use in background for Chrome. Maybe look in parameter or disable background activity.
When I don't use my phone (in night for exemple) it lose 1% of battery each hour. But I don't see the app. Maybe not enough optimisation in the system

Hello. Can you help me? i'm using oppo reno 2. I got an error after following the instructions. The phone can't start the game app. After opening the app a few seconds later, it quits by itself. Many other apps have the same problem. namely backup app, system update app.

Hy. try to reinstall all apps you uninstalled. In the instructions, there's the command to reinstall. You had to know which package you uninstalled.
You can try to install the uptade (with VPN for in Germany or spain).
Or hard reset.

i is this the one that only works with button combo? twrp is that 3.1.1. or 3.4?
is this backup android 10 or android 9? and its a single slot or dual slot A/B backup?

Sprint does not make thier kdz public, so no, it's not a kdz for sprint.
I haven't managed to dl the file yet (mega limitations), but I'm sure it's a partition backup done by qfil or bkerler edl python utilities or by dd commands within twrp.

Hey these files are .ext.win files but the partition manager for qfil only works with .bin and .img. Am I missing a step?

No.

What do you mean by manually OTA update. OTA means Over The Air. Meaning start it manually? Or do you mean through a PC?

Ideally, if you do not touch the data partition, no.

Sideloading an OTA does not wipe your data.

You won't lose data, but if you are rooted you will have to root again after side loading (manual) OTA. I believe there are tools out there available (pixel flasher, for ex) to retain root on an update but I haven't used any of them though so I can't recommend one.

Ha, I only meant to put your solution up again since that answered the op question. Sorry for the confusion and misquoting.

Actually manually updating a Pixel 7 by sideloading a full OTA file using Pixel Flasher is pretty simple (if you understand the GUI) and convenient. Considering how long a regular OTA via wifi can take, it's awesome.
