Question Android auto - Xiaomi 11T Pro

Hi all. I need a bit of help.
Evertime my phone's screen goes off the android auto stops working. I have to drive while keep pushing the power button to it can carry on working. I have looked at all the settings I can think of but nothing seems to work. Running the latest MIUI 14.0.1 (vili) version.
Any help with a setting I can't think off please would be a great help as I travel allot.

I fixed it by disabling these options (see screenshots):

I found this workaround in another forum, it's a MIUI 14 bug, Xiaomi knows this problem, with next updates probably it will be fixed.

Rotation bug with EVERY available rom!

Hi guys,
Whatever rom I install on my xiaomi mi5, after a certain time, the screen rotation does not work anymore.
To prevent software errors I run always by a clean flash.
In many forums write user that this bug after the update to a specific version Miui disappears.
This is not a' solution for me.
Has anyone else this problem?
Perhaps it is also a hardware defect...
dont think its a software problem, maybe you should get your phone checked out

Its of course a well know bug for all mi5 roms. I read yesterday that last thursday rom update fix this:
"Fix - Accelerometer and gyroscope didn't work after and OTA update (08-12)
Fix - Accelerometer and gyroscope didn't work normally (08-12)"
The problem occured with miui as well as with unofficial CM build, what i am using now. This indicates to me that it has nothing to do with the installed rom directly.
After rebooting, everything works fine again.
I suspect apps like Pokémon go to stay in relation to the bug. Since i am not playing that game anymore it occures much rarer...
I am too having this problem with no solution, i guess its not an hardware issue, otherwise dozens of people like us have an defective hardware on their mi 5. I tried MIUI 7.5.2.0 and 8.0.2.0, both global stable, occurs when i play pokemon go for a while, then i go back to any app and the screen does not rotate anymore.
I wonder if it is related to the kernel, since we dont have the kernel sources, all the roms available are based on the kernel miui have, so... Any help would be apreciated.
I was having the same problem. I dont play pokemon. Im still on vendor rom. But now the bug gone i tried to simulate the bug but it rotate normally
I have this issue. I'm on the latest CM 13 build and I get issues where the camera won't take in landscape and full screen videos won't switch to landscape when you rotate the phone. It's so nearly perfect apart from that.

Did you ever fix this bug as a matter of interest? I've just done a full-wipe reset and reinstall of the latest CM13 build and I still have auto-rotate issues. It's really annoying me now because it's a great build in all other respects.
I installed a couple of Sensor Test apps and neither one can see my accelerometer sensor to even test it. So it's like the sensor isn't even there. I know it works because one of Shade.sh's beta CM 13 builds was able to detect the sensor OK! Any ideas?
Here's the sensors detected in the Check My Android app. There seems to be only two axis detectors working. How does this compare to a healthy Mi 5?

Yes, i actualy did. After installing developer version 6.9.18 the problem never appeared again. Now im on 6.9.22 and the rotation bug is gone
Hmm, I've just tried SlimRom and the same bug is present, presumably because it's derived from the same tree as CM 13.
I'm actually tempted to give MIUI 6.9.22 a go then if it's the only way to get this fixed.
I have just flashed the MIUI developer ROM 6.9.2.2 and my sensors are working perfectly now. So it must be something for flaky in the CM stack or Kernel version. See screenshot.

Pixel 4XL Face Unlock

I couldnt find a solution or the same issue on the forums.. so here is my problem:
Pixel 4XLs face unlock is so bad. After a few unlocks the phone says "clean sensor". Rebooting usually does the job for a few hours.
I browsed the web and this error is common on so many Pixel 4/XL devices.
Is there a solution to this? Any CustomROM or Kernel solving this issue?
I am on stock kernel/ROM and wiped the whole thing before freshly installing Android 12.
Thanks!

Probably a hardware issue. Find one of the many sensor testing apps and run it several times to identify a weak or defective sensor. There is not going to be a cleaning or software solution. If you do find a sensor not working 100%, do another clean wipe and test again before looking into replacement. Normally the FR on the P4 is extremely fast and accurate.
Thanks @v12xke for your reply!
To be honest, i dont think it's an hardware issue. See this link on the google forums: https://support.google.com/pixelpho...ing-the-dreaded-clean-the-top-of-screen?hl=en
There are countless other posts and threads about this error.
I should mention that the issue was there from time to time on Android 11 too. Looking at googles changelog, they tried to "fix" the issue in their updates. Nothing helped yet.

Google forums are a joke, this issue has *nothing* to do with Android11 or 12... and no, there is not a fix coming from anywhere. You're going to have to fix it yourself. Have you removed and re-added your facial profile at least once or twice since this started? Have you been able to replicate in safe mode? How can you know it is not a hardware issue if you don't test the sensors? It's just one step in the process of elimination. Try these and you may discover something you didn't know before.

How can you say google forums are a joke when literally hundreds of people are having the same issue? I dont want to believe that we all have hardware issues. Otherwise the hardware would be some hot garbage.
I removed and readded the face multiple times already.
I booted into safe mode. It works there. But like I said, it also works after a normal reboot for some hours/days before it needs a reboot again.
I also did test the sensors, no errors there. However my next step is to run the test when the error is present.
Any specific suggestion on which app I should use for testing?
Thanks again.
@Matzeus
No specific sensor app. Facial data is stored on the Titan M chip, and the only way I know to wipe that facial data and potentially fix it is by doing a factory reset from the stock recovery. Fastboot flashing will not wipe the Titan data and even from recovery is only a partial wipe. If you've ever had TWRP installed, there is a looong thread on broken face lock there. FDR from both recovery and setup would be my next suggestion.
@v12xke
In the past i ran the factory default from the system settings, didnt help. After that I used Googles "Android Flash Tool", which didnt help either.
Additional information: the device has never been rooted or anything. Always been on stock firmware.
Anyways, small update on the whole thing:
The issue occured again, I ran the app "Soli Sandbox" and it simply didnt do anything. So far so good.
After closing Soli Sandbox and clicking on the face unlock option in the system settings, magically everything worked properly again. Even without a reboot.
I am not sure what solved the error now..
I guess its safe to say, that all motion gestures stop working once the problem occurs.
Will keep this thread updated as I find out more.
I've had absolutely no major issues with my Pixel 4 XL's face unlock. I've upgraded from android 11 to 12 and still working perfectly. Yeah, i get the odd clean the bar notification but goes away after a bit and it just works.
The face unlock is fantastic on the Pixel 4 XL
The march update claims to have brought some improvements to Pixel 4s face unlock feature. At least thats what they say in the official changelog.

General improvements for face unlock stability & performance *[4]
Lets see if the problem is gone now. Will keep this thread updated.

It's uncannily good. I keep the phone upright in a cradle by my PC so I can monitor it, and all I have to do is turn my head to peek, and it unlocks every time. It's pretty amazing. I've never had a problem with it.
The last official update didnt help either. My hope for a fix from Google is gone.

I have now installed LineageOS. Its been a week and Face Unlock is now working perfectly fine.

Still going strong? And did you notice this issue on Android 10?
@puzzlefighter
Still on LineageOS 18.1, no Face Unlock issues since I installed the ROM.
I am honestly not quite sure if this issue occured on Android 10 already. But i think so, yeah.

Thanks. I've got a new 4 XL that definitely has this issue but I didn't spend much time with it before updating to 12 from 10. It's a real PITA. I've never installed a custom ROM, but thinking I may need to do what you've done as this is irritating af.
@puzzlefighter
Just go for it man.
I was so upset about face unlock and i regret that i didnt install a custom ROM earlier.
Share your results afterwards please if you installed a custom ROM
this is not a hardware problem, but a software one, it started with the release of android 12, the problem is not in the face unlock sensor, but in the proximity sensor, it sticks, as if it was closed with a finger, I use Pixel experience + 12, this firmware does not have this problem, I'm disappointed with google developers(

Question Is RUI 3.0 version C.07 stable enough to update to now?

Have any of you updated to the new version? Is it stable now? Does everything work fine?
A month ago I got a prompt to update to the then new android12 update but a lot of things were broken. Some apps I need(like nubank) wouldn't open for no apparent reason and the system was overall less responsive. Not to mention the NFC function was removed for no reason.
I had to go through the process of downgrading using a tutorial in this forum because the rollback package they provided was for the indian variant, so I'd rather know for sure that everything is OK before I update again
I don't know if this is any help, but I've updated to c.06 in the past without it breaking anything. I've updated to c.07 now, and it seems stable to me personally.
maybe try a factory reset before updating? I haven't done that myself btw

Hi, thanks for your response. Did you notice any drop in performance or battery life after you updated? Any problems with fingerprint, nfc, etc?

No prob. Performance has been very snappy so far. Battery is holding up great and charges as fast as before. Fingerprint en nfc are working fine.
The only annoying thing I've noticed (but maybe that's an Android 12 thing) is that the option for usb-tethering is missing from the pop-up screen when I plug my phone into my laptop. So I have to go into the settings screen to turn it on.

Coming back to report that I've updated, and while everything seems to be working fine I have noticed a drop in battery life which is quite annoying. Otherwise the rom runs smoothly and I've only noticed a small bug which sometimes prevents me from swiping up to close apps on the recent apps screen
in Realme 3.0 C.07 HDR10 Support removed for no reason.
Hello,
I also can confirm that "Allways On" is missing options on this new update...
C7 seems to be very more unstable than C6...
There is a new version out TODAY.... C08.
Best Regards,
LPC
C.07 was buggy. C.08 is even more buggy.
C.08 bugs:-
Device hangs alot.Battery draining more. Many apps aren't responding well (ex- YouTube etc.) C.06 has HDR but it even not available in C.08.
I will downgrade it to rui 2.0
Almost all alarm clock and notification apps stopped working reliably - missing alarms all the time

Question miui 13.0.4

I've had the 11t pro for a little more than 2 months and even though it's not the best device out there, it does a pretty good job for a budge phone with such specs(in my opinion)
a few things I've noticed and not sure if others share the same frustration are:
after upgrading to miui 13.0.4 I noticed in top left corner (mic/cam)icons that show up when I open any app using them...any way to disable them?
when playing a game, I noticed phone sometimes lags so badly(though it's not a demanding game, visual wise) and I can't even have a whatsapp video call while playing without phone going terribly slow until I end the game.
sometimes out of the blue, the phone becomes super laggy even with no apps running, and I can't figure out what is causing it, so I end up restarting it.
if anyone has noticed anything else or has got any tips/tricks please share
p.s: is it doable to flash an eu rom on a device with global rom? I was told difference between both is google pay on european which doesn't exist on global, but I have it on mine.

The mic and camera icons is an Android 12 security feature to let you know when you might be listened to or seen, and I don't think it can be removed.
No idea regarding the game and slow downs. Sometimes with a major version change it is better to factory reset and set up from scratch, so that might help.
Yes you can flash different ROMs from other regions. The IMPORTANT thing is if your device came with a Global ROM and you unlock your bootloader and flash the Europe ROM, then you must not lock the bootloader again, if you do it will brick your device. You can put back the original Global ROM then lock again.
Hope that help.s

After updating from 12.5.21 to 13.0.9 I have experienced lags in various situation as well. After that I unlocked bootloader and flashed xiaomi.eu 13.0.4, but it's not much better. Now I'm thinking about downgrading to xiaomi.eu 12.5.10 or stock 12.5.21, that worked very well.

I know that It was clean installation. On stock with MIUI 13 I had the same problems.
I'm now on version 13.0.9, jumped to this version from 12, clean installation. What I'm finding is Wi-Fi and Bluetooth turnoff around 23:30 each night, this seems to be some deliberate power saving function when the phone detects the person is likely asleep, and I can see in my access point log exactly when Wi-Fi disassociates and turns off, only turning on again in the morning when I unlock the phone. This may be related to having DND turned on using the schedule option, this is set from 22:00, but I have this set to still be disturbed by my contacts, so need Wi-Fi to remain connected. This all worked fine on version 12.
I can't see any settings under Wi-Fi or battery management to disable this. Anyone else seeing the same thing or have a solution?

Did some more Googling, found others having the exact same issue, see
https://www.reddit.com/r/miui/comments/tlxjjh
Appears to be a deliberate power saving feature, where the option to disable it, due to a bug or oversight, isn't available.
What is it with Xiaomi and their excessive battery saving modes.
wouldn't you find it under battery settings?

That appears to be the bug in that the options to disable it are missing. There are no settings anywhere to disable it.

Question How do i downgrade from v13.0.2.0?

Installed it yesterday without looking, and oh god Android 12 (and the new update) is so much worse. For some reason now on 60hz my phone constantly stutters, and overscroll is literally making me feel nauseous (and it seems like you can't turn it off without turning ALL animations off), not to mention a lot of other stuff that makes using my phone uncomfortable for me.
So i looked into downgrading/custom ROMs, and thought i'd give downgrading a try. So from what i've gathered so far those are the steps i would have to take to downgrade my phone.
Enable USB Debugging on my phone through Developer Options
Install ADB and Fastboot driver on my PC from here
Download a Redmi Note 11 Global Fastboot ROM that i want from here
Download and install MI Flash Tool from here
Make sure that my phone is at 100% charge, then turn it off, and turn it on in Fastboot mode by holding Volume Down+Power.
Connect it to my PC with USB and open Mi Flash Tool
Select the ROM folder
Select "save user data" at the bottom right
Click "flash" button at the top right and wait for the install to be done
I wanted to ask people here who know a lot more about this whether those steps are fully correct, or if there's something i missed. Also some general advices would be nice.
That's weird. Updated my spesn EU version a few days ago to 13.0.2.0 and it's hard to see what's changed from 11. No new problems that I've noticed.
Could you try a factory reset before rolling back to 11?

Overscroll is in Android 12, and i wasn't able to find any info on how to turn it off without also turning off all animations.
Notifications and any google app are ****-colored now due to dynamic theme color in Android 12, simply cause of my wallpaper, and there doesn't seem to be a way to turn it off.
Perhaps doing a factory reset would solve the stuttering on 60hz, but it wouldn't fix those

I'm a simple user and don't use animations or fancy themes, and I don't use it for games. My phone is a tool for comms, specialised apps and internet only and updating to 12 just sort of happened with the November security release. I hope you can sort your problems as the Note 11 is an amazing phone for the price.
Its always a rule of thumb that you should factory reset your phone after an android version update. This way it runs better and smoother. Before downgrading try reseting it and the see and even if it doesn't resolve then you can try downgrading.
Mine got updated to A12 and i immediately formatted it and now using it without an issue. Though there are no huge changes as the original A12 has like material you engine but its working fine.
After updated to Android 12 EU Version i cant See any issues. My Phone even runs better and smoother than before. I didnt Do a reset.
