The heat restrictions are kinda nutty on the Oneplus 10 pro. . There has to be a way to edit or shut off the heat restrictions in Android or with this phone.. does anyone know a way?
There's an LSposed module called Lucky Tool that has this function but i don't know if it works. I haven't tried it yet.

I would tread very very carefully removing failsafes, there's a good reason why they exist.
I wouldn't say they're nutty I'd say removing them is.
Wondering in what scenario you'd need to disable this feature for?
I play switch games and Vita; both of which are probably the most demanding things that pretty much any device will be required to do and I have never seen an overheating warning.

I've only seen it complain when it actually got pretty hot. Idk why this phone gets so hot.
It wont let me even take videos while in restriction, and i think the restriction is not even that hot. Its just super annoying and seems to be just with the ONEPLUS series . . .Google Pixel and others that I have had in the past do not have such TIGHT restrictions. I play ingress alot. . . but I dont care about that too much I also in the sunlight hate how it auto tints rapidly . . .

My device has never overheated, it's possible your SOC is seated imperfectly, so it won't cool correctly, if that's the case then you'd need to return it and get a swap, you should be able to do anything without it overheating, unless you're in a seriously hot part of the world.
My money's on a defected contact on your SOCs cooler.

Interesting find, to say the least. I wonder what it is though. iFixit's pretty thorough, and I can't imagine they'd miss any obvious way into the casing...so whatever this trick tool is, it must be fairly clever (which could mean either brilliantly simple or...well, not. )

Only that the tool costs about 1 million dollars. Those bastards. I know people enjoy the kind of design like apple, but I prefer those that use screws. I opened my touch diamond after it dropped on ground and display didn't work. I plugged the cable back in, and it worked again. Well, that old day is gone.
I had 3 refurbished Ones, all with separate problems. I assume they did not have this magic tool.
It probably not a "tool" that you can hold or have shipped to your house.
It's probably a 1 ton machine with precision heating elements and clamps. None of that knifing crap.

Hopefully this tool is effective and reliable. My phone's main board has to be replaced, so they'll have to open it up. Now that I know they have a special tool, I have the right to raise hell if they send it back all screwed up.
bump
looks like someone has found a way to open it with minimal damage it seems

Hi all
I'm fairly new to XDA and this is my first post so go easy on me plz So i preordered the note9 and ever since i've had it i've had nothing but issues with the device. First, it was the camera unit buzzing and struggling to focus. I took it in to my nearest Samsung store and well... the overall ordeal was unpleasant. I was in and out of the Samsung store 4-5 times in a month and it took 10 days for them to come to a resolution, but thats not the point. After i had the phone repaired, 2 days later my S-Pen broke. I was taking it out and only the clicker part of the pen came out. Instead of taking it up with Samsung and wanting to avoid having to leave my phone at Samsung again for 'inspection' i decided to fork out the dough and purchase a replacement S-Pen. Now, my phone is exhibiting signs of either burn in or display uniformity. It is extremely visible, when displaying dark images and considering i use 'night mode' indefinitely its really hard to avoid. I even notice it in the Game launcher, notifications tab, settings menu, even in games and apps such as spotify or Youtube.
It really sucks having paid $1500AUD :crying: for a phone that severely lacks quality. I just wanted to know what your experience with the Note9 has been and if you're experiencing the same issues as me. What course of action should i take? I really want to demand a refund.

The only issue I have had so far is in relation to video calling. I'm not sure about the built in video calling, but when using FB Messenger or Google Duo, it is extremely poor quality, and eventually drops the call, disconnects data from the network and refuses to reconnect it for at least 15 minutes. Verizon can send diagnostics to the device and they say it still has a "background" data connection, but that doesn't really help me much. This has been occurring as long as I've had it. Even after flashing multiple OEM's, resetting things, etc. Only thing to do is have it replaced, but since the back has scratches now, it has to be through insurance. Other then that, there have been no problems.
Hi, I have an ROG Phone II on Android 10 version 17.0240.2108.103, and a lot of my apps have blurry icons when I'm inside the apps for no apparent reason, almost like it's loading the wrong DPI for the icons. Snapchat, YouTube, Google maps, Facebook, Messenger, TikTok, and my Asus router app are all effected in some capacity. I attached screenshots of the apps I've noticed the issue in so far.. any ideas would be helpful. Deleting the apps and reinstalling them doesn't help

That's what my plan was, but I still don't have any OTA notification over a month after release.
I haven't looked much into updating manually, but it seems more complex than I'd like.
I'll be going for any other brand the next time I need a phone. This poor software support really sucks. I sent an inquiry about the headphone jack not functioning on the fan accessory when using the gamepad attachment, and never got anything useful back out of it.
My first Android phone was an Essential PH-1 and getting updates the same time as Pixel devices really spoiled me. Security updates were always current, as well. Much better experience overall, on a much more limited device.

Update: I dropped the . ZIP OTA file into root, and it fixed all the issues I was having.
It also removed a gesture I liked having to get to the app tray. "innovation" they call it.
Thanks for the suggestion though, I appreciate it! At least the icons look better now

"And it burns burns burns the ring of fire."
I'm fairly certain that's a magsafe compatible case charging ring reason than it is a "Pixel 7 [itself] is starting...fire hazard" device issue/reason....
You're lucky Google is giving you anything for it....that is most definitely not Google's fault as a manufacturer; there is no way this is a Samsung Note 7 exploding issue nor has there been any news/public statements claiming anything like it -- I'm fairly certain you may have misrepresented it as such, but they still sent something to appease you, so I imagine you should be happy at that (even if it doesn't quite cover all the medical bills that have resulted by this)....
Yeah, I understand the phone got hot causing the magnet to heat up but it wasn't designed for this. Depending on how that magnet works in relation to things like reverse charging, that wasn't something Google implemented to be used. If it was a factory Google case then I would understand. Like I said though I do see your point. I would suggest anyone who's able to root, flash a custom ROM like lineage and you won't deal with any of these heating issues. Android 14 also runs a lot cooler because it doesn't have the issue with pixel launcher anymore, at least it seems that way so far.
