Hello, last time I updated my P7 was in January, I want to flash the May Update, but the last image factory uploaded in google's page is February Update. I only can see May 23 OTA. Why they stopped uploading full image factory? Is there a new workflow to update a rooted device? (I prefer not to flash otas)
Thanks

Had that problem once too, viewing the page here in Germany. Then someone told me to change the language. Sometimes I wonder how such a big billion dollar company can mess up stuff so bad.
thank you so much

I was hoping someone could help me out with this......
I've been getting this irritating "Android System Update" (screenshot attached) week after week.
I'm rooted (unlocked bootloader), running stock 5.1.1
This update keeps showing up and when I go to install it, the phone reboots, then it goes it TWRP. I'm assuming this hasn't installed correctly because it keeps coming back.
Does anyone know how to get rid of this or install it correctly. It's becoming quite annoying when it pops up time after time.
Thank you-
Install the update manually or block OTAs.

How do I install manually?
That's what I'm trying to find out

You can't take OTA if you are rooted.

So I just need to find the security patch and manually install it?
Now where to find it, LOL
I'd start by reading the stickies at the top of the thread list... Good readng.
this update would probably be LMY48I, for the stagefright patch.
what is your current build number?

I have Verizon.
I thought the builds were carrier specific.
This is what I found:

The link you posted is for Galaxy Nexus (not N6). It is the same page, but a different location. You need https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images#shamu
@IINexusII is likely correct that the update you received is LMY48I. So you should be able to flash that

Thank you all very much for your help.
I'll try to patch one of these updates this weekend when I have some time off.
I'm the gatekeeper for all that is Android OS in my family. Myself, my Mom and now my Dad all have Nexus 6' and I've rooted us all. So I install it on my phone first and then the same with theirs.
I was so happy I found a fix for the MLB At Bat app and their stupid blackout rules.
This is just great, been having the same issue and versions
This covered everything I had at the moment!
I applied the update tonight, sick of those damn OTA prompts.
This is where I got mine from, but still not sure if I chose the right one:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-6/development/fxz-nexus-6-recovery-flashable-fastboot-t3066052
Installed the download from:
LVY48F (5.1.1 Project Fi bugfix update 20150910)
It says Project Fi only, but I have no idea what that is. I didn't see an option for LVY48I, so I went with LVY48F.
Did I do this right?
Want to make sure I didn't screw up my phone.
I tried installing the OEM ROM from here, but it failed while trying to flash it via TWRP recovery:
https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images#shamu
"5.1.1 (LMY48I)"
Anyone?

Thank you!
I flashed the Pure Nexus ROM this past weekend and so far, so good. Loving some of the features not included in stock.
Hello, i got a problem.. some days ago i see the new update on the google page but my N6 dont want to get de update, always says is updated yet at NDB91P
Either be patient, or download the factory image from Google's pages and flash it using fastboot.
Nothing so far :/

You're a nexus owner man! Sideload the OTA!
Doesn't seem to be EMUI 4.1, but it is an update nonetheless. Other phones have it worse.
- Dual SIM: (B604) - OTA and FULL
- Single SIM: (B605) - OTA and FULL
CHANGELOG:
This update improves system security with Google security patches.
[Optimizations]
Improved device security with Google security patches.
[Update notes]
1. This update will not erase your personal data, but we recommend that you back up any important data before updating.
2. If you experience any issues during the update, please call the Huawei customer service hotline or visit an authorized Huawei service center for assistance.

You can always find new updates with Huawei Firmware Finder, or on this page.
INSTALLATION:
OTA: You need to have stock recovery. you will extract the UPDATE.APP from the .zip and put that in a folder called "dload" in your phone's SD card. Now you can either:
Dial *#*#2846579#*#* in the stock phone app, and go Software Upgrade > SDcard upgrade or
Shutdown the phone, and then hold POWER, and both the VOL buttons until the EMUI update starts
FULL:
You can flash the update.zip in TWRP. It will show a small error but it's fine.
You can also extract the partitions boot, cust, system with Huawei Update Extractor (usage instructions in the forum) and flash with fastboot through an unlocked bootloader (HOW DO I DO THAT?)
If you have stock recovery you can extract the UPDATE.APP from the .zip and put that in a folder called "dload" in your phone's SD card. Now you can either:

NOTES:
By the way, you can try this method to get better ROMs on this phone. You can find ROMs for these devices that Huawei gives better updates to, and flash them with TWRP, but they may have stuff that doesn't work. E.g. CAM phones don't have NFC so you won't get NFC support with their ROM.
Isn't the ALE-L21C432 that is needed ?

It's a typo. Anyhow the c432 refers to europe region i think. if your phone is not carrier locked you can install whatever region you want, not with the official method though, only fastboot or TWRP
I just hop in here to remind everyone that this ROM won't pass Safety Net at this time. You'll have to wait until it is releases officially. And that will be on the beginning of the next month.
Also: This is a leaked build, so it may not be final. Which means that this build may not include all security updates for August. Tbh I'm starting to think that this is all just fake news. The security patch from Google wasn't releases yet, it never is this early. Maybe Huawei is just making their customers think they got a supported device, but actually they are just changing one line in build.prop.

That's not allowed... Google can release early security it patches only for some phones, and happily, it seems that our old p8 lite is with them.
@JpegXguy can you please give me the boot.img of b604? I would appreciate!

Google releases universal security patches, but NOT this early. If it is releases already, you should be able to find it on the internet.

The boot image is in the attached zip. I tried a ROM from the CAM-L21 phone, which gets EMUI 4.1 updates plus secutity patches. It's a good ROM but themes don't apply at all for some reason. Other than that it's fast and the small improvements of 4.1 are welcome

Surely that's illegal right? And the OTA is like 120+ MB, I doubt it's just a line change

I think it is. But it wouldn't be the first time huawei doesn't stick to rules and laws. I just can't imagine that Google would release the security patch of August this early. There is still to much time until the month end and it gets released officially. There is still a lot of time for more exploits and whatever to show up. I don't think Google would do this.
Edit: I just did a little search, there was nothing on the internet. The latest is from July.

Hello all, I currently have the stock 7.1.1 on my G5S+ Italian version.
Some days ago I received the notification for 8.1, so I accepted to download but it stopped at the beginning because the available space was less than 1.2 GB.
I made immediately the space available and tried again in system settings to get the update, but now I can't find it anymore!
In the system information my phone is always declared already up to date with its 7.1.1 (security patch level 1st June 2018).
Of course I already rebooted, but is there any other thing I can do?
Thank you
Why not you try to download and sideload it to your phone and check for the update again.. Please refer to this thread.

Thank you but I would prefer to let the FOTA work in this case..
I'd recommend not updating... Wifi has become pathetic as it's dropping signals frequently. I see the launcher is consuming too much battery.
7.1.1 was way better. Wish I'd never updated

great find, how do you usually pull the images?

I just look at the logs while I'm updating. There's an ota url that gets set right before an update happens, and then right after it happens it gets nulled during the first boot.
Usually it's just an ota with a partial update. Around 60MB or so. For whatever reason I looked at the logs before I went to update this time and noticed the url was set - so I downloaded it and discovered it was much much larger so I grabbed it. When I went to go do a system update though it changed to a smaller ota, and I grabbed that one too.
thank you very much for the explanation, definitely very helpful info.
I don't think it's useful right now, but i've successful dumped the full factory image thar you sent

Hello guys.
Another user and I are experiencing issues updating our brand new Chromecast with GTV as seen in this thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/chromecast-with-gtv-update-recovery-error.4274509/
My device comes with build QTS1.200625.002.A5.6686931
I guess the OTA that it is downloading is having a hard time updating from a build that is so old?
Do you think there's a way I can flash the full factory image posted by OP?
I think, by doing that, the device could then update to latest (April 2021) version.
Could that be a solution?
Do you have any other ideas?
