Hey, I have an annoying issue with my head unit (EKIY) I use android auto wireless, everything works perfect except when calling with messenger or whatsapp, then I do not have any sound. Is this a known issue and is there a way to resolve this? Normal phone call works, but since I am often calling out of country it's better to call through whatsapp.

Would like to know if there was an app for Nexus S which would allow me to receive calls for my own number over wifi connection. I work in 2nd level basement and no way of getting signal in here. Thanks
hmm... how about SKYPE?! (everyone knows about it, it's the standard)
then people can call your skype number and you can answer via WiFi
or also Google VOICE installed by default
just need to setup your Google Voice account
Thank you for your reply Allgamer. I tried Google Voice but they do not give any accounts anymore + I am in canada and don't think Google Voice works in canada.
For Sykpe I want to use my own phone number which came with the cell phone instead of a skype or other number.!
Hi All!
i've big problem with voice communication on my note5 (stock rom - N920CXXU2BPJ5), after 3-5 seconds Viber, Skype or WhatsUp break the connection, it is only with cellular data, on wifi works great.
My sim card and quality signals are ok, on another mobile Viber or Skype works fine.
If anyone has the same problem?

problem solved, I received a different version of the application for phone model
I am having issues with receiving notifications on time over Wi-Fi after screen was turned off for 10+ minutes. Usual delay is about 5 - 10 minutes. I don't have any problems with same applications and scenarios over mobile connection. These apps are chat and video call apps: WhatsApp, Viber, Duo, Slack. This is especially annoying for calls, because I just get missed call notification (after 5 or so minutes or if I manually launch the app), instead of a call ring. I ticked all of them off in "Optimise battery usage" section. Same behavior on Oreo and now on Pie version. Same behavior on my home network, my parents' house network and at my work place. Browsing, streaming and all other things over internet work, no issues with it, so the connections were good. I have SMN960F model, if that matters.
At first, I thought this issues are caused by Doze when the phone is in "Connected to Wi-Fi" state. I don't even know if Doze could distinguish those two states (Connected to Wi-Fi or Connected to Mobile). But since everything works just fine over mobile, I doubt it is Doze. Now I think it is something related to my Wi-Fi settings, but I can't figure it out.
@Japro
Did you ever figure this out?
Hello Folks,
I'm having a strange issue on WhatsApp, whenever I make a call on WhatsApp connected to Wifi it works just fine, when using my data connected to LTE network I see WhatsApp call coming in but unfortunately I'm unable to receive it means even though I press Answer / Decline call button doesn't respond !! Same thing happens when i call back, the recipient gets the call but they don't hear anything from my side.
I did check all the permissions for WhatsApp and its all enabled, this is driving me crazy. Anyone having similar issue? Any thoughts / suggestions ?
I am having the same issue. Did you find a solution to this?
I currently got a second hand xiaomi MI5 running miui 10.2.2.0 on android 8.0 from my dad. this issue didn't surfaced cause my dad didn't used bluetooth devices for video calling or calling purposes. but when i got it i tried video calling through whatsapp and google duo and the phone is connected on Wifi. when the call is connected the screen of the other person is not moving and the voice is coming in parts. same is for when i call thru a whatsapp voice call connected via wifi it shows "calling" instead of "ringing".the moment i switch it with my 4G data it shows "ringing"
is there any solution to this?
