Are there ANY custom roms available? I'm saying ANY because it looks like not even LineageOS is compatible... I'm new to this amazing world of Android modding, sorry if i'm asking you something stupid

This os is best for Android phones
If you look at the sources they are not for hdpi devices therfore no development atleast for now as i see it. I also want to see something different from aosp ROMs.
Stock rom modified to xperia ui would be cool too.
For our device it looks aosp ROMs is what senior devs prefer.
Why any developer not work in miui ROM I know your answer but miui7 is good for Android phones

If you like it so much, then why don't you compile it? Devs are tired of requests for MIUI. THEY DON'T WANT TO DO IT.

Why isn't there any custom rom development for the Mi 8 SE? I really wanted to buy this phone for the amazing design & hardware in this price but don't like MIUI that much

I believe is should be ''yes" rom based on AOSP or LineageOS..etc
you mean that so? someone will make that thing for it. cuz source kernel for it is ready and released, many user xda or miui 4rum using this device.
But, one very important thing "Trebel running as well on almost devices and mi8se is also supported by this project and using some rom in the project treble, running quite stable and less bugs''.
So many one users mi8se here, there are a lot of reasons to believe this. it will comming soon , just patience to waiting.
I have been looking for great custom ROMs but I haven't found except pixel experience that's too unofficial for Mi A2....I don't understand that why talented developers are not considering this device...hope n wish I can see n install great ROMs from great developers community...wish n request developers to initiate it...
I guess because it's an Android One phone, most users (myself included) already got what they wanted.
Previous years Mi A1 got many roms/kernels. But it took some months because of the A/B partition. This years Mi A2 should get everything like official TWRP recovery, official supported custom roms,kernels etc. Just we have to wait. That's it. Developers are trying.

I would love to develop ROMs like I did with my previous phones, but since the Mi A2 community keeps "demanding" developers to step up and develop them free roms, I'm not going to. I'll probably develop one for myself and if someone wants it, I'll charge for it.

Instead of begging dev to make rom for this device, why not you visit project treble thread
https://forum.xda-developers.com/project-treble .. since a2 has project treble support so why not you try something from there... plus, please give devs some donation for their hard work, appreciate their efforts... and try to not begging them to do something..

But I'm worried why no custom ROM development has started for this phone yet i bought this phone because its camera was very good i believe it is a best phone with all features like a iphone But I'm disappointed that none of the developers have started custom ROM development yet. If it is possible then please start custom rom development for this phone even TWRP recovery is also available for this phone but still no custom rom
We expect to see custom ROMs for Xiaomi 12 Pro in the coming time

I support you .. we need a custom rom very badly .. previously had Mi 11 Ultra and it had after around 8 months 1st custom rom as pixel experience...and soon after followed by many roms in successive months and it now has more than 5... I wish atleast one rom to b developed... So others will follow up soon... Hoping for the best
