For those using a case, have you found one that actually offers decent click action on buttons? I like my cimo case, but the buttons are a bit mushy. Looking preferably for a solid color case but if a clear one has great buttons, I'd be willing to try it.

Ringke fusion has great tactile buttons, requires to use a conscious amount of pressure to press it. Used it for previous s6 and n4
Spigen Ultra Hybrid buttons are just crap, total mush and you will have zero feedback that you even pressed the buttons. Used it on n5x
Waiting on reviews of nillkin buttons since prices are almost similar between ringke and nillkin
I've tried three cases for this phone, all TPU or TPU + polycarbonate shell: Tudia Ultra Slim, Lightning Knight Hybrid Defender, and Diztronic Ultra. The Diztronic has the best button feel, it hardly feels different than the buttons without a case. The Lightning Knight is by far the worst, there is almost no tactile feedback on the buttons. The Diztronic is the one I use daily.

I'm thinking of maybe getting the Ringke fusion, although I'm not sure how I feel about the clear ones. If that is necessary for great buttons, then I may have to try it!

Is the Ultra the one that stains your phone or was that a different Diztronic one? I have a black 5x so maybe it wouldn't matter anyway.

Does it protect the camera glass from hitting a surface while laying flat? I saw a review stating the glass lays flush with the camera.

The Ultra is this one, it only comes in black and has beefier corners and a taller lip around the screen than the other Diztronic one (which comes in three colors). I have it on a black N5X so if it's staining the phone, I may not be seeing it, but it doesn't look stained to me. I have read that the blue Diztronic case is the one with staining problems.

I have the Diztronic case and it's quite good. The matte plastic material is very grippy and the buttons have a nice click to them. I can confirm the black case does not stain the black phone.
Only downside for me is I wanted something extremely thin (like a skin basically) and the Diztronic is just normal as far as thickness.
The cases from Google play store are both good. I don't use folio cases so I didn't buy that one or the ugly speck case. Just the nexus one with felt and the Adopted case. Both are super snug and good buttons. Makes it feel more premium to me.
My diztronic case came today and I love it. Feels solid, good grip, correct cut outs, and the buttons are EXCELLENT. Very pleased. Thanks for the help everyone!

If you're still in the market for a 'skin' case, I highly suggest the Nillkin Nature TPU Case (eBay is where I bought mine). It's only 0.6mm thick and is the thinnest "all-around" TPU case I've owned so far. And the buttons also retain most of their click feedback.
But as with thin cases, there is less impact protection and the Nillkin only has the slightest camera bump.
I use the factory case from google on my N5X (the fuzzy one, without the front flap). It fits so well that it feels like I'm pushing the button on the phone without a case. can easily feel the click of the buttons and doesn't feel mushy at all.
I thought the diztronic case was decent quality for price. Buttons on case are good. Not sure I'd agree that it's all the grippy though.

LOVING IT, buttons feel mechanical and easy to use, protective gromments for usb and 3.5mm jack [durable and fixed to case] ultra thin as well.

Nope, I have this case and that's probably the only negative thing I can comment about it. If you lay the phone flat on its back with the Nillkin case the camera is exposed and prone to scratching. I'm now using the Spigen thin fit, has a good lip for the camera bump and doesn't feel too bulky, but yeah no dust flaps for type-c and jack ports.
Another vote for the Diztronic slim fit.
When I bought the phone I originally also bought this Verus case: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B015GHQM7Q
I was coming from a Galaxy S3 with a ballistic dual layer case so I was used to the added bulk. I found the Verus case to be a little slippery at times but the buttons all worked great and I didn't have any real issues with it. The biggest issue by far came up when I finally tried to hook it up to some aux speakers with a cable. The depth of the case combined with the narrow cutouts for the headphone jack meant none of my aux cables would fit. My usual travel headphones use a more narrow jack so it wasn't a problem until I tried that.
That was a showstopper so I went with the Diztronic for my 5X. I originally had a Diztronic case for my S3 before changing it out and was always happy with it. I literally just received my new 5X case it but I can already tell I'll be using this for awhile. Buttons are better than with the Verus and grip is improved, altho still a little slippery; I remember from my S3 there was a little bit of a break in period. Cut outs are all aligned perfectly and it feels noticeably slimmer than the Verus. I like having the edge lips so I can lay the phone whatever way I want with reduced risk of damaging the glass. Definitely recommend.

Hi,
I am looking for a case that adds minimal bulk to the device. I would prefer something with a soft-touch finish, but not necessarily silicone.
So far, I have looked at the Seidio Surface, the SGP Ultra Silke, and the Rearth Ringke.
Does anyone know from experience which of these cases is thinnest?
Also, has anyone found other cases that will retain the slimness of the phone?
Thanks.
I dont know from experience but from reading these forums the incipio feather case maybe be the slimmest. Its hard case that snaps on but doesnt cover the top or bottom of the phone. I do got the Rearth Ringke which is awesome. The fit is great.

Thanks for the reply. Is the Rearth Ringke relatively slim as well?
Also interested in a slim case.
Its really not that bad. The fit is great and the texture it has is a nice touch. It has enough grip to keep it from slipping but slippery enough to keep lent and fingerprints off.

^That's good to know.
Does anyone else have any suggestions for slim cases?
you could get these if you would consider a skin http://www.adreama.com/products/mobile-phone-skins/samsung/nexus-s
they're pretty damn thin, give good grip, protects the outside of your phone from scratches, and you get two so you can pick which color you prefer
I wish case mate would make a barely there case. There seems to be a huge demand for it.
incipio case quite slim, soft, and sexy.. the only drawback is it's quite fragile. my friend bought it awhile ago, he had SOD (sleep of death) many times using netarchy kernel and he had to remove the case to remove the battery. after a few remove, the case start to get loose and finally the case gave up and broke..

This seems interesting. I have found several cases identical to this on eBay for as little as $3 (like this andthis).
The material seems different than other TPU cases, and is just what I am looking for. Anyone else have a case similar to this (TPU, but with matte-finish rubberized rear)?

that second one looks just like the black one that you get in the two pack I posted. I actually think that the black one looks really bad with a black phone, but that's just my opinion.
I have the incipio feather case (black) and love it. Soft touch, great grip, and best of all no fingerprints. Not a tacky rubberized feel that sticks to everything (lint, hair). There is a little space at the top and bottom that isn't covered (bottom for port access) but it looks great. very slim. I bought the standard black case that best but had available on launch day and the crappy rubbery screen protector. Couldn't stand either one and dug out my g1 sleeve cover.
Bought the incipio because I hate the slick back of the phone. Been using it ever since.
I would disagree that it is fragile. I take it off and put it back on at least once a week and haven't had any loosening or breakage (after several months of use). Thing is still rock solid and fits perfectly snug.
hopefully this is helpful.
edit: although it is very thin and adds very little bulk, it is noticeable. With the case on, my phone no longer fits in my g1 sleeve and this makes me kind-of a sad panda.

How is your overall experience with the two-pack case that you posted? Does it add too much bulk to the device, or attract dust/lint?

The Feather seems to be a promising alternative to the other cases, mainly because I love the soft touch finish.

I actually think that the phone fits better in my hand with the case on. i'm not worried that i'm going to snap it in half on accident and it's only the tiniest bit bulkier than it normally would be.
I seem to notice little hairs and stuff accumulating right where the case stops, but it's easy enough to either wipe them off without removing the case or to just pull the case off and clean around the edges. overall, I think it's a great case. I added some before and after pictures so you could see how little bulk there is.
I also have the Incipio Feather Case and agree with discussion above. Actually have 2 for 2 phones.
Black is matte finish. Teal is not, but its not a hard, shiny plastic feel. I really like it, questioned buying but so tired of black (their other colors are
very bright, way too much for a mother of 3).
I was looking for the thinnest case possible and feel this is it.
The top and bottom is open so won't protect there, but has the corners.
The thing I love the most is the grip, felt the phone was too slick and just
waiting to drop. This solved that. I do not feel it is fragile, don't take off
that much, but have no problems using fingernail. It is tight, but that is good.
Would highly recommend. And if shopping on Ebay, there are some for $20
shipped. It states Nexus S (not specific for 4g, even on the box when you
receive it), but if it is Incipio, not knock off, it works.
sgp case is very good
What would be the best armor/protective case for the G2 with a small size?
Not as big as an Otterbox Defender, nothing bulky...
But not as thing as a thin TPU case...
Looking at the SPIGEN Slim Armor right now, seems appealing but also kind of thin.
I love my slimArmor, It is a bit thin on the face side but that's where I have the iLoome Flex glass protector on. Hopefully in a drop the iLoome cracks and my screen stays in one piece.
If you want less than the defender then try the otterbox commuter. I have it for mine and I don't regret it at all, very reasonable thickness with a nice lip on the front for a case this protective, plus none of the button problems that seem to plague the defender series

It's a very thin case, with almost zero rim. Thinner than the Slim Armor, if the photos of the latter are correct. Like 1mm of rim, which is barely that tall. The only cases with less rim that I've seen are the official QuickWindow case and maybe the Feather.

I bought it for my wife's Verizon G2, the pink one. It is a very good case, a good mix of protection and being slim. The plastic back has a matte finish a has a slight grip to it.So nice in fact, I just bought the white one for my newly purchased G2. :good:
My Verizon LG G2 came with a white/grey Incipio DualPro case. My initial feeling toward it is that the silicone is too flexible and pulls too easily away from the top and bottom front faces of the phone. While putting the outer shell on the phone, it felt like the case just wouldn't be stiff enough, but now that it's on the shell isn't so bad. The case has decent grip, but the white color of the outer shell picks up color from your pocket (or whatever else it rubs up against for a bit). I really like how the rear buttons are covered up, yet actually easier to use because of the more pronounced power button bulge.
On my previous phone (a Verizon Samsung Galaxy SIII) I regularly used a pebble blue TPU case from Belkin, but also had a blue Otterbox Commuter for when I'd go camping and hiking. I quite liked the Commuter and will compare the Incipio DualPro against it.
I've been using a Diztronic matte black TPU case for the last week (my first full week with the device). Now I've switched over to the Incipio to check it out. I'll give it as long as I can stand it and will post back here.
Anyone checkout or have experience with the trident cyclops case for the g2? I used it on my moto x, for the protection it offered, really didn't have much bulk, was thinner then the commuter. Found a good deal on a g2 cyclops thinking on checking it out.

24 Hour update: I've spent 24 hours with the Incipio DualPro case on my Verizon LG G2. It is definitely growing on me. While the slightly rubberized hard shell feels slightly slippery to the touch, it is grippy on most surfaces when set down. The case seems to offer protection on par with an Otterbox while feeling better. There's very little added bulk with this case, considering what it's offering in terms of protection.
The case looks good from the back, but I'm not too keen on the white shell peeking around the front edges of the phone (or with how it picks up colors from rubbing on its surroundings). The grey inner shell looks good enough that it's not distracting. Had I purchased the case separately, I would definitely have gone with the black case. But I don't feel strongly enough to buy the black version as a replacement for the white/grey case I already have.
I'm happy with this case and would recommend it.

Received my black Invictus today and it's going back. I'm not impressed. The biggest thing is the cutout at the top left corner the pics on Amazon don't show it but it's there and annoying. The plastic is glossy and looks to scratch easily. The kickstand is just a flap cut out of the back of the case and doesn't snap into place very well. I was expecting a somewhat more premium case. Obviously not high end but better than this.

Today I tried switching back to my Diztronic case because I'm tired of the white/Grey color scheme of the Incipio case. I couldn't do it. I've grown used to the way the Incipio case covers the rear buttons and actually makes them easier to use.
But it turns out that I really do feel strongly enough about the color to have ordered a black version of the Incipio. It should get here in a couple of days. Hopefully it feels the same as this white one.

I really like my incipio dualpro. it's really thin but it's survived a couple drops already. my only complaint is the back is kind of slippery and I could see it slipping out of my hand (hasn't happened yet)
Having used the Slimarmor and the Diztronic TPU, I just recently moved over to the Tech 21 D3O case from Tmobile and I'm loving it.
With the slimarmor I felt it being a bit bulky as well as pretty slick at times. With the diztronic, I didnt feel as if there was enough protection if I were to ever drop the phone.
Looking at the videos of drop tests online for the d3o material, I was sold. The fit is snug, the only bulk added is on the edges where the d3o material is. The textured tpu is nice to hold and doesn't feel slippery, plus I feel much more confident in the event if it were to ever drop on the corners/edges of the phone. For the front face drops, hopefully the Glass M protector I have will take the impact.
Very satisfied with the Tech 21 case and would recommend to anyone looking for slim and protective. They have them in the Tmobile stores so you can definitely try it out first before you buy!
I have the Seidio Surface case and holster. I really like the holster but the case doesn't seem like it gives much protection. Anyone familiar with a case that will give more protection but still fit the holster.? I've tried a couple from Ebay that look slim but protective in the pictures but tend to be pretty bulky in hand. A kickstand would be nice but that's not a deal breaker.
Ballistic SG Shell Gel Protective Case
I used to have a Razr i before my LG G2.
The Razr i was tough by its own and still I had a "trident aegis" case for it, I could throw it meters and was always nice.
G2 seems way more fragile, but the trident series for the G2 are really creepy awful. So with a little research I came across this nice piece of plastic protection the "Ballistic SG Shell Gel Protective Case", checked some youtube videos of drop tests and reviews.
I bought it on ebay today, so now I'm waiting to arrive.
Hopefully its as nice as it looks.
Hey everyone, so I know there's a few thread about cases which I've read through. But what I'm looking for is any info on good quality clear cases.
The main factor I like is the appearance. It's just about time a company really put an effort into the looks as well as the performance of a current Gen smartphone.
So my question is what clear cases are out there that some of you possibly already have or have seen online? I've scoured amazon and other sites and found some good ones, but still haven't found the "one".
Currently I own the otterbox commuter (too big, covers whole phone), the supcase hybrid with clear back which is what I currently have on. And I placed an order yesterday for the exact prism case with the clear back. Though I now realize the prism and supcase are probably the same exact case....
My issue with the supcase hybrid clear back is the scratches that accumulate so easily on the back. Most of the cases out there are simply cheap. Some are very good for the money but I'm looking for long lasting durable quality.
I have an eye on the supcase unicorn beetle hybrid as well but my turn off is the back being frosted to the point that you can't see the detail or shine of the m8. At least that's what I've seen in pictures.
I'll use an all clear or some kind of hybrid bumper clear back case. I also saw the griffin reveal case, but I can't find any good pics. And from the description it looks like it's the same material as the supcase bumper hybrid. I was hoping the griffins clear back would be a solid hard scratch resistant material.
I've also seen the case mate barely there and some others. So if any of you have any other clear or partly clear cases please post some feedback on how you like them and pics would be great too!

Yes it is.
Just a word of caution with clear cases, they have a tendency to collect lint and crap which is easily noticeable. I had the cruzerlite Bugdroid Circuit Case clear and ended up selling it to a buddy. The pocket lint and crap collects under it and bugged the crap out of me. I cancelled my clear UAG order and changed it to black in fear of the same problem.
Now this might not bother some, but bothered me enough to share.

All in all I am happy with the case. My one complaint is a sharp line that extents all around the back of the phone. I think it would have been better to have made this smooth as it would be more comfortable in hand.
Dropped my phone on the bleachers at the game, found my volume up button dented in, non-functional.
Pried it out, unbent it a bit and got it back in, works.
Bummed the case let that happen though. And agree about the sharp edge.
I've been using the Exact Prism Series Slim-Fit Transparent Case for HTC One M8 Clear/Black, and have been very happy with it: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00JAR24SU

Makes me feel like I can toss my phone on the table or something and it will be OK. Doesn't seem to scratch or yellow. Makes handling the phone more fun since I don't have to be so delicate and it seems durable while showing off the nice aluminum case.

Unfortunately, my clear spigen case has a slight yellowing to it. This was present in purchase, so beware. Otherwise, it is a very good protector that allows the m8's looks to shine.

Great thread!
I also want a case that can still show the great design this phone has, while providing some protection, and I believe many of you will as well. I also ordered a Glass Screen Protector from Aliexpress to go along.

I had this pure gear slim for a bit. It's a great case. I opted for the UAG maverick because it has a bigger edge lip.

What is the thinnest case out? I don't necessarily like cases...just want something as thin as possible for scratch protection.
Rinkge Slim is probably the thinnest. It fits VERY well and is about as minimal as it gets. I really like it.
However, I switched to a TPU case because I can be a bit clumsy and needed more protection from drops on pavement.
If you just want scratch protection then a skin is the way to go.

I have this one and have had it on past phones and I felt it made the 5x quite a bit bigger for a "thin" case. Maybe because its designed to fit flush with the camera and since the camera protrudes out, it the case does too.

There is a thread here about the LG hardshell. I think it's about as thin as it can get, similar to the sand paper like hard cases

I've heard a lot about this one... Also the Nillkin Nature case keeps coming up, too, and lists itself as .66mm thick. That's a pretty slim case, and would be far thinner than my Cimo tpu case. I'm probably going to order both the Nillkin and Lg Hardshell and see which one is best. I like that the Nillkin comes in clear and smoked options, too, instead of just solid colors. Haven't been able to confirm that option on the LG case since it doesn't appear for sale in the US just yet.

Based on this guy's caliper and Amazon.com, the Nillkin should be quite a bit thinner than the LG case...

Nillkin nature tpu case. Also has the best feeling buttons I ever had with a silicone case. Ports on bottom have protection . also nice

IMO the Ringke and Spigen "slim" cases look like Otterboxes in comparison to the LG Snap On, that one is basically like a hard skin. The quicksand cases are similar to those in thickness.

How thin is the Nilkin? I don't see it advertised. The LG Snap On is advertised at 0.75mm but we don't know at which point of the case they measured.
The Nilkin is a gel case, or "condom" case as I like to call them. They are thin but that's about all they have going for them.

The nillkin is advertised at. 0.6mm. Not much for rugged protection, I suppose, but should be nice for some coverage without added bulk. Mine just shipped (from somewhere in east Asia) and should be here in about 2 weeks. Will keep y'all posted.
The Lg case has a s light inward curve to it so it's hard to get measurements. After trying multiple angles the thinnest I got was .80, that's coming straight up from the bottom.
Diztronic hands down

Just got the Nillkin. Definitely the thinnest TPU case I've ever owned. Also the buttons still retain most of their clicky feedback. This has happily replaced the Orzly as my main case.

I've got my Nillkin Nture TPU case. It's awesome! I don't have pics yet, but will try getting some for y'all when possible. In short, it's amazingly thin for TPU, adding minimal bulk. This is far superior and much thinner than my Cimo TPU case. It's not going to offer much drop protection, but I'm not too concerned about that. Plus it'll certainly prevent scratches. It also has a slight raised edge at the bezel so you can set the phone screen-down on a flat surface and the screen won't touch, but the added bonus here is that since its such a thin case, the offset is minimal which makes it MUCH easier to swipe left-to-right (for example to open an app menu or Google Now) than thicker TPU caes (which can often make it hard to touch the edge of the screen.
Anyway, I'm really happy about this case. It does had small flaps that cover and plug the charging alot and headphone jack, which I waver between liking and disliking. However, those could easily be cut off if wanted. Anyway, easily the best $10 I've ever spent on a case.

Hey I see the listing color options are white, gray, or gold. What color did you get? I'm wondering if by "white" do they actually mean clear?

Yup, the white is actually clear. That's the one I bought.
My Nillkin is on its way from China. I'm excited to get it. I'm using the Ringke Fusion right now and I think the profile is slim along the edges but the extra thickness is killing me.
With the Nillkin should I look into getting a screen protector for the camera lens or does the case lip around the camera keep it from touching the surface?
I have the Spigen rugged armour case for Oneplus 5 previously, and this case felt more premium and more sturdy right out of the box. It feels denser as well but it is still TPU so it's still flexible; the design/aesthetics are more refined than the liquid air cases from previous years, offering the same minimalist low profile stealth look. I have to add that the case does add a little more heft to the phone overall, but does not add much bulk.
I've always liked the feel of the Apple silicone cases on my friends' Iphones, and the patterned back on this case feels like a close second. It feels smooth and sleek but does not help in adding friction/grip when holding it on the palm. Rather, the bulk of the gripiness of the case rests on the newly designed grooved sides, which allows more purchase on the fingers/palm.
Camera and screen lip protection is functionally minimal, ensuring that the camera and screen not touch the surface of the table when placed down and not interfere with daily usage such as swiping in from the side of the screen for back gesturing on the new Android 10. I find the corners and edges of this case to be soft and rounded, making it a rather comfortable experience holding the phone at all angles, even against the ear for phone calls.
Now the rest of the details can be expected of Spigen cases like the clicky buttons, easy access to the alert slider and accurate cut outs for the ports and microphones.
To sum up, if you are looking for a case that promises to provide both drop protection, adds little bulk in the process, and fits your 7T like a glove, I can recommend this case. Will update this review later if I find anything noteworthy to add.
:good:
I like the look of this one the most among the Spigen lineup.
Do you have the official screen protector? The other Spigens were confirmed to be not compatible

Yeah you're right to ask, the official tgsp is not compatible with the liquid air and rugged armor cases.
Case looks very minimal and sleek liked it.

Not sure why Spigen puts out case after case after case that is not compatible with most screen protectors. My first OP phone was the OP5, and this goes back at least that far. I really liked Spigen cases when I was rocking a Google Nexus, but alas I have passed on them for as long as I have been a OP owner. Really disappointing cause others seem capable of designing correctly for this phone.
Using this case since day one with that phone and the original OnePlus screenprotector installed as delivered and got no problems in any way. So many reports claiming about the compatibility, but tried it because of the slim and sleek design and many good experiences with Spigen in the past. Got no regrets till now. It's just a bit more slippery to me as others. Using it for 3.5 months 24/7 and dropped it hard twice with no damages.

Nillkin CP+ Pro (with covered selfie lens) is the only one that fits because the corners have the wrong radius.
