Do u think the SD bluetooth cards will work on the XDA O2???
Any idea how to unlock the Sim Lock?

No, we've seen documentation to indicate that the XDA supports
the SD Memory but not the SD-IO cards.
If our opinion on this changes we'll let you know.
Bluetooh for XDA
There is asolution for all XDA's:
http://www.airmagics.com/am1000.html
cheeting
That is cheating.
And it certainly doesn't seem like it would allow for you to connect any bluetooth device to your XDA...
The other problem is the Bluetooth stack isn't supported by Pocket PC 2002 and you'd have to third party it onto the device.
Bluetooth does not just mean a wireless headset you know!! People want it to browse the internet.

Hi there,
Do you guys plan to spend time to work on the Orange SPV ?
As you surely know, Orange has locked its phone so that people
can not install unsigned applications on it. With your talent
I'm sure we could do something about that !
BTW I've used your site to create a usb charging cable using the
description of the xda connector you've made and it worked like
a charm.
Cheers
David
Unlocking Programs on SPV
See bornsloppy.co.uk for how to disable the program security.
You should note that Orange's own programs will usually fail as you need unsigned programs after fixing this bug.
I think the best feature of the security feature is that Microsoft's programs like MIS can't work because the certificates fail to load onto the SPV.
Now that is thinking ahead - so where do you want to go with Microsoft today - into a dead end perhaps?

Hi, Does anyone know if there is an update to XDA IIi to Windows Mobile 5.0.
I know there is one for the Himalaya version of XDA.
I have spoken to 02 and they say that it is highly unlikely and would be releasing the XDA II Exec with WM2005. Any info would be gratefully received.
Mod edit: Please be sure to mark requests with [REQ]
Double post deleted.
And there is currently no WM 5 for that device.
Can't the admins just delete these threads and/or ban the thread starters? I mean how many times has this thread been posted, 200, 300?
The thing is that that new people arrives every day.
New people don't know what we know, new people don't/can't consume all the content of this site that fast.
Banning new people won't do xda-dev any good.
Deleting the posts will only give us even more of these post :!:
So the best thing for those that feel irritated by it, just overlook them and move on
Thread moved from mod. upgrade, unlock to Alpine
WM2005
Apologies to the anybody who is not happy with my post.
Don't worry about them!!!If you don't know, you have the right to ask!!!However, before that you should read some thread about the topic you want to know!!!
Cheers mate
I have been watching posts for two months, and still have not been able to understand "yes", "no" or "maybe soon...."
People talk Blueangel, da da da...
I want clear talk about XDA IIi or Alpine. Don't be jumping on people to review old threads when it is hard enough knowing which model people are actually referring to...
I too am interested in reading if anyone has recently tried a 2005 mod on XDA IIi (Alpine), and what problems they may have encountered.
blueclue7, the WM2005 ROM is not for the Alpine, it is for the Himalaya.
The hardware is totally different between the two devices, it will not work.
There is no WM2005 build for the Alpine yet, maybe never, we don't know yet.
The Alpine has WM2003se, and so far, that is all there is.
WM2003 exists for the Alpine in 2 main versions so far, both have bugs. Most of these bugs would probably be solved by WM2005, but guess what, there isn't a WM2005 build yet.
Oh, by the way, WM2005 for the Himilaya won't work on the Alpine, just as it won't work on the Blue Angel, or the Magician, or any other PPC other than the Himalaya.
hi guys u have just bought an xda2i off ebay. I am regretting it before it has arrived due to the lushness of wm2005 and you guys saying it wont be coming to xda2i. How come its coming to the older xda2 arghhh. I may have to make them program an update at gunpoint.
if you want i can trade you my MDAII? heheh
WM2005 on XDA IIi
It will be interesting when they release the Universal with WM2005, as it is technically the XDAIIi is similar. So hopefully it will be just a matter of time before someone reverse engineers the Universal Rom for XDAIIi.
Unless of course the 02/I-Mate/Qtek etc do the sensible thing and release an offical upgrade.
I don't see how Microsoft and PDA makers can whine about priacy, when people have spent good money for a new release PDA, only to be told it has the old software and even though it is capable of accepting the WM2005 upgrade....easily, we won't do it cause we don't think our customers are that important, welcome to the money grabbing world of Microsoft and many others.
I hope Microsoft and PDA people read this and learn!!!!

Hello, there is some good news from our friend at blue angel forum, some one from that forum asked his frien if there's any update WM5 for Blue Angel, and his friend (who is HTC rep) said "YES!!!"
I read that post three times, ( i wondering if my english is really bad or there will be update for HTC Blue Angle ) Here's the link :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?p=147760#147760
and for me that is "good" new ( May be a bit, but better than nothing), there is a hope they also make up date for HTC Alpine because it's younger :? . Yah... just hope....
or some one will give the WM5 Himalaya cooker a new HTC Alpine????
I'm sure he'll make that (WM5) work on HTC Alpine...
should we start a petition?
why not ?
WM5
hey... good idea...
Great News Again
Hei XDA IIi lovers, i got some ( I think good news ), i post some email to O2 asia asking if they will release WM5 for IIi and their answer :
"There are no firm plans as yet to offer this particular upgrade to customers of existing Xda devices"
But.... don't stop there ......., after that they wrote :
"but we are studying market demand for this platform, and we will certainly consider offering it in the future if there are sufficient requests for it from our customers"
Do you all get it???
they just need to know if there's sufficient request...
I guest i've start my petition.... How about we all start to petition right now....
hehe i wont hold my breath but i might aswell put my name down for the petition.

Gimmie WM2005 NOW !!!
---------------------
Okay, lets finish this thread now, Here are the FACTS !!
WM2005 IS NOT RELEASED YET
The Himalaya build is a internal release by microsoft which was leaked to the world and then modified by our good friends buzz Lightyear and co. This build was specially written for microsoft employees on the wm2005 program as the majority of them have himalaya devices.
This new OS will be released officially on the next generation of XDA devices which will probably incorparate 3G technology as well.
So NO The current WM2005 builds that are doing the rounds WILL NEVER be available for other platforms as the hard ware is completely different from platform to platform.
All you can hope for is that
a) It is officially released for your device then modified like Wm2003SE for Himalaya.
b) Some one will swap you there XDA II device.
c) Get a copy of Wisbar Advance and skin it to look like Magento (This actually looks more polished than the actual WM2005 in my opinion.
I personally have a M1000, Orange version of the XDA II which i upgraded to WM2003SE after 3 days of it arriving, then upgraded to WM2005 1.60b which i am now running..... it's the best phone/thing i've ever had.....plus i got it cheap thanks to a price mistake on Orange's website
Hi all,
Just thought I'd let you know that the forum xda-developers need to update the user profile page to include Orange SPV M2000, I know that it is the same as o2 xda II but it might be relevant in future postings.
no it's the same as xdaIIs which is also absent
guess they should include magician and xdaIIi too
They also need to update to include the Verizon XV6600 for us in the USA...
As already mentione here in this forum, this will never happen.
Profile for XDA and XDA II is made by a special patch to phbb, that supports only 2 systems. Therefor no newer devices are included.
Stefan
Hi I would appreciate if someone could point me to where I can get this from. I used to have this on my XDA II. I upgraded to IIi and cannot locate this application from O2UK site. Ther, it is a part of the overall new ROM for XDA II.
Thanks in advance.
I beleive that this will have to be built into a new ROM. I have an xda2s. Many have tried but failed to extract the relevant cabs from the xda 2 and get blackberry working on the 2s. No luck after about 6 months it seems... So I suspect its the same flr the 2i have to wait for the ROM upgrade :-(

Not true. O2 should be releasing roms for xda2s and xda2i quite soon according to my contacts.
Thanks for the information guys. It is what I suspected. Looks like it will be a test of patience :?
jdee246, I hope your contacts are reliable; Here's to hoping.
I concur with jd246. I have receievd a few tech support responses indicating August or Septemebr release of xda 2s ROM with Blackberry client. Also heard from one forum member that is trialing it right now, so we should be close..
This is very exciting news if it actually happens. Like many other O2 customers, my patience is wearing really thin - don't you just love the way O2 releases products in blaze of glory, promising updates that never materialise and having internal support teams that never seem connected enough to get a straight answer.
To all those with HTC devices outside of O2, stay there! Behind their Show-rooms O2 is completely disconnected.

I am using both IIs and IIi clients, and have done since November last year. The ones I have now, released from RIM - you know, the guys that actually write the BB software in Canada - in the last month, are the only usable versions. Previous versions have had major interop problems (especially with Activesync).
And all operators need RIM to write the software for the new models, and RIM must do a good job, and if they don't they won't release it....
From what I know, it's out the 1st week of October on the UK website.
Ah..!! Southern Man!... I was going to protect your identity I am glad that we are so close. Great news indeed. Any thoughts on when we might see the same for the Wizard and Universal? ;-)
Regards
Chris
We'll believe it when we see it! 02 have promised this for so long, and then in the next words of wisdom said that they have no plans to bring a Blackberry Client out for the s or the i.
I am not disputing your using the client - just that fact about 02 actually releasing it to us....the paying public....that bought their pda's expecting it to do something that it won't!
But....we do live in hope :-D
Yes, we all live in hope...for without hope, there would only be O2 Active!
Blackberry On MDAIII on T-Mobile UK
But I am also confused... I was in the UK last week and went into a T-Mobile UK store. They had the MDA III in there (aka xdaIIs) and the brochure said it has Blackberry client connectivity...? Is this true and does it work? If yes, why couldn't we use that ROM on the xdaIIs. Anyone know??
Regards
Chris
Is this what your looking for?
I guess that this is forthe XDA II ? If so I believe that it will only install on that device.
I don't use Blackberry but I have installed it on my XDA IIi and it seems to be ok (no error messages), I just copied it across and ran it.
Ah! But does it work?
Try it...
OK I've installed this to my O2 XDA IIi
Installed the client software from the MY-XDA Website for the XDA II
Had my Corporate Account enabled with Blackberry Enterprise Server 3.6
Bu the XDAIIi Doesn't show an IP Address which I guess it needs before it starts up.
Does blackberry needed a certain enabled sim card? I can connect to O2 Active (Mobile Web) So GPRS Is ok.
Any Ideas Guys?
check this out

it might help
CHeers,
What I thought but just heard our Corporate Blackberry has moved from o2 to Vodafone so this is going to be fun lol.
All becuase someone didn't release you need to enable the voice on the o2 account d'oh
Cheers/
